I posrepped the joke, but when looking at it seriously, I assume a whole bunch of smarter people than me have to be viewing it as a case study for their jurisdictions.

Changing diapers and feeding babies, I don't even want to know how I caught it, but my immune system is fine. Kids bring sickness home constantly, especially when you have a house full of them. I think I've tested positive for strep more than 10 times in the last decade and didn't even realize I was carrying for most of those. My first kid of the new batch spent his first year going to daycare. I think he's been sick once in the last 9 years. It seems like that rubs off on parents with small children too.

Anyway, I wouldn't wish HFM on my worst enemies. Scorching high temperature for days leading to bouts of absurd disorientation and dizziness. My throat felt like I'd drank boiling water. Swallowing became an act of bravery. And then scabs all over hands and feet like a fucking leper. Nope nope nope. I hear Chicken Pox is way more horrible for adults than children as well.

Shit, my 2 year old caught HFM last year and it looked like the Black Plague. Fingernails and toenails falling off, sores all over his body, etc.  I picked him up to comfort him and he sneezed directly in my mouth; i didn’t sleep very well that night. Thankfully I dodged that bullet, but damn, you poor bastard.

Nothing like a sinus infection brought on by this shit, and the resulting fever/cough/etc. to get your mind spinning into some dark places these days.

I’m right there with you, I was convinced I had the corona last night. My nose was so stopped up that I was having trouble tasting and smelling food. Watching everyone else enjoy the cookies that my wife baked last night was a real low point for me.

  3. My neighbor’s wife is a nurse at a hospital here in Montgomery county and they are keeping her completely in the dark. They won’t tell her if she has crossed paths with a coronavirus patient and she is worried about the lack of PPE. At the beginning of our conversation we were about 6-8 feet apart and by the end we were about 20. Backing away from someone without them noticing is an art form.
