Likely Tapp's.  He should be able to get more playing time and NIL from other schools -- I'm guessing in the B12.

This makes me wonder about the perception of prospects in the NIL era.  Used to be, a player who transferred from a tier I program like Texas to say, Kansas State or Texas Tech would inevitably face questions as to why they downgraded.  Nowadays, a player like Tapp, who presumably was on the right track will be hard distinguish from a player like <insert Aggie transferring out here> to the casual observer.

He's baaaack!  Actually the Dude of WV never left, after all, he's immortal, but just changed to his real name, Christopher Lambert.  And his FSU and Clemson talk just won't go away.

So from others who do subscribe to his twitter, ESPN is brokering a deal whereby the ACC lets FSU and Clemson go to the SEC, sublicenses their rights to ESPN to use in the SEC and takes a cut.  Meanwhile, ESPN agrees to exercise their option to renew the ACC contract from 2027-2036.  That option expires in 2025.

Its just way too complicated for the Dude to have thought of it himself, so someone did tell him this.  And it really does make sense, even if the source is the Dude.  Its a win for FSU and Clemson, who get to go to the SEC and make more money.  Its a win for the ACC who get rid of a couple of whiners, get their contract renewed and cash in on part of FSU/Clemson's FMV.  Its a win for ESPN who keeps FSU and Clemson and gets even better matchups in the SEC, although they do pay a little more.  Its a win for the SEC who seal up the southeast and get a couple more national brands.

That is the dumbest fucking way to try to off somebody.  Expensive, definitely going to be detected, and a waste of drugs.

    What a piece of shit.

  4. Got a trip planned for March.  We're camping one night at Davis Mountain State Park, then staying at the Harvard for 2 nights before heading home.  We've got hikes planned, along with a star party and a trip to the Desert Research Institute.  For a day trip we're driving through Paisano Pass to see the volcano and then spending the day in Terlingua.  I have questions about the restaurants in the area.  We're needing 2 dinners in Fort Davis and a lunch in Terlingua.  Where should we eat?  Got 2 kiddos with us so that factors in.  Unfortunately we're going to be in Terlingua on a Tuesday so no La Kiva from the look of it.  Ideas/thoughts?

  5. Championship morning!  Looks like Josh Jacobs isn't starting, so I grabbed Zamir White off the waiver wire.  I put him in my flex and took out Aaron Jones.  Jones is too high variance for me with the injuries and spotty starts.  I have a huge lead due to CeeDee Lamb and I just want a reliable floor setter in my flex.

Along these lines... I think something like Airtable, Google Sheets, or another collaboration tool could be useful as a master tracker for annual recruiting classes to help highlight who the key Texas targets are and who the better players are. Much of this information is shared in the recruiting threads, but it would be nice to have this synced centrally.

A recruiting class table (ex: 2025 Recruits) would have columns of information like this:

    • Player Name
    • Position
    • Composite Rank
    • Texas Priority (High, Med, Low)
    • Likely Leader (Texas, other school)
    • Bobby B update notes
    • Gerry H update notes
    • IT update notes
    • 247 update notes
    • TFB update notes
    • Surly take / thoughts (e.g. "might not have a committable offer because Player X committed")

Permissions could be granted to a handful of recruiting addicting degenerates here to update and post info as available.

I mean no disrespect, but if our central problem is one of demographics and engagement, I’m not certain that starting a spreadsheet is going to ameliorate the issue.

Kyler is fighting for his job.  I’d consider him

    cj vs Tennessee

    fields vs atl

mullens browning stick etc are available

    Warren vs Seattle

    Montgomery vs Dallas?

With QB, I'd rather my opponent start Fields than Stroud.  Of course the injury status comes into play there.

Mullens would be my call out of the waivers mentioned.  Browning pretty much gets what's given to him and KC won't give him much.  Mullens throws INTs but he also throws for yards and TDs.

Tough call between what you've got and what's out there.  Stroud's injury muddies things up for you.

For RB you gotta go Montgomery.  With my league's scoring  Warren hasn't scored above 10 points since week 11.

Of course, now that I say that Warren will go off.  Please don't blame me.

  8. Browning was gone weeks ago in my league.  Top available are Kyler Murray, Taylor Heinicke, and Bryce Young.  Gave thought to Murray, but I just don't trust him.

Carr vs. Tua is tough.  Hard to bench that Miami offense, but Carr is unquestionably the better matchup and better trendline.  I might go with Carr, but then Tua would go off on my bench with my luck.

  9. Still feeling the high of blasting my way into the championship game by 60 points in the semifinal.  There's a pretty decent hunk of change on the line in the final, and I'm wondering the best way to handle my QB situation.

I had Herbert, and when he went down I grabbed both Flacco and Mullens.  So far I've been riding Joe "I'm somehow relevant for fantasy in 2023" Flacco and he's been nails for the past couple of weeks.  But this week he's outdoors in the rain against the Jets who actually play pass defense.  My inclination is to go with Mullens since he's playing middling Green Bay at home in a dome.

Beyond the absurdity of playing for a league title with either of those two at QB, what do ya'll think?  Ride the hot hand in Flacco or play Mullens with the better matchup?
