Just horrific. Burn it to the ground. Like others have said, it still enrages me that Penn State never received the death penalty and these other mentioned schools received slaps on the wrist. It’s probably a question for another thread, but if you don’t give programs that participate in pedophilia and other sexual abuses the death penalty, what is the point of even having the death penalty?

I think he will do well there, especially if he gets some good assistants. I don't harbor any ill will for Shaka, but he had to go. The Big 12 is a meat grinder filled with elite coaches and he was AT BEST middle of the pack. The Big East will be much easier sledding.
He ran a clean program, graduated kids, navigated us through Andrew Jones and Covid. I'll root for him honestly. But we need someone much better.
Very well said.

Time to close this thread. We know the answer.

It’s time. This loss, like Strong at Kansas, is unforgivable.

This must be the worst loss in Texas basketball history. I can’t think of any other that compares.

Mine are like many that have been mentioned:
Spurs 2013 Game 6: I have been a Spurs fan since I was a kid and thus have had a lot of great moments with some heartbreaks in between. .4, 2006 series vs. Mavericks, 2011 series with Memphis were tough, but don’t compare to having the title in your hand and snatched away, as someone said. I couldn’t sleep that night and knew the series was over even with a Game 7. 2014 brought redemption, but I still can’t watch Allen’s shot and dread the highlight each Finals season.
Longhorns 2008 loss to Tech, Colt’s injury in the MNC for obvious reasons. You all noted that 2010 was a continuous gut-punch and really showed the program’s deterioration. 2016 loss to Kansas, while bringing Strong’s much-needed firing, was devastating especially since it was just so embarrassing.
I must admit I am glad I was too young to see or understand the 1984 Georgia loss. As I grew in my Longhorn fandom, just hearing the story became upsetting. I don’t know how I would have handled living through it.

SIAP but some references to Mensa’s problems here:

Its QB threw 30 picks last season.Brady took the team over. In the locker room, on the sidelines and everywhere in between. The head coach acknowledged as such. Mediocrity wasn't going to be accepted. Excellence and a championship were the only options. Short of that was failure.Tonight was the end result. Brady imposed his will on the other 52 players on the team. And the coaching staff. They went from trash without a clue to an organized and driven team. No coincidence that acquisition of one player was the difference. And the result was a world championship.Good for Brady The best. Ever.
Can’t say it any better than this post. Brady the absolute best. We will never see anything like this again.

You are not allowed on the 40 acres until you shave it. Just break out the #1 and be done with it.
I did two years ago when my Herman Head got out of control. And I get all the ladies now.

FWIW - Bobby said he doesn’t doubt the guy reporting it at all. Said that Tom had been in contact with SC once before and wouldn’t surprise him if Tom reached out directly to the President or AD.
Thanks for the info. I can’t believe we are at the point where we are having to talk about our coach reaching out to South Carolina.

Maybe Herman did contact South Carolina, I don’t know. But this story seems very aggy/sec circle jerk to me, especially coming from some local reporter on Pauuuu’s show.

Just funny to me how everyone salivated over hiring Urban yet clutch their pearls when Briles name is thrown out there.
Fuck Art Briles and his rape factory. As has been discussed many times on this board, there is no comparison between Meyer and Briles in terms of their transgressions. UT should shut down the football program before hiring Briles.

Was thinking the same thing. That was the most important grade yesterday. And it was an abject failure.

This just is unbelievably bad. CDC has got to make a move quickly. Urban Meyer is the only move. Otherwise I fear we will be wandering in the wilderness another 11 years.
Does any one have any real insight from the Big Cigars?

Casey Horny says hiFucking A. Let’s not act like Herman is some lily white virgin.
We need a coach to bring some toughness to the program that’s been sorely lacking for a long time. Urban is a homerun hire just sitting there for the taking.

no more G5 bullshit...
This times 1000. We supposedly have all this money in our athletic department. It’s time we swing our big dick around and get a sure thing like Urban. No more projects/flavors of the month.
