Tommy wasn't.. he was dominating camps prior to his injury.. his lil bro is a different story though.. but he shot up the rankings and was the #1 Center in the country (lol)

I guess we can debate wether Tommy Brockermyer was overrated, but he was an unquestioned bust. Thank You for not choosing Texas Tommy, that might have kept Herman around a little longer, and would have continued Texas' record of bringing in 5 stars that somehow never managed to play good football or make it to the NFL

It wasn't really a joke, you don't sound like guys, not any I have ever met. They gave you guys the whole section over in the Cloak Room, you ruined it, there's no discussions going on over there, but it's yours - enjoy, just please keep this shit off the football board

IMO it’s an offshoot of the changing gender norms. As the definition of masculinity changes, it’s a weird offshoot of it that both rejects new and old ideas of masculinity in a kind of Peter Pan never grow up kind of way…. But then also leaning into older ideas of ‘conservative’ themes and toxic masculinity.

You get that from Joe Rogan? What a weird take. You guys (Can I call you that?) should keep all of this crap in the Cloak Room

  4. All you folks defending the modern NFl are full of crap. Coldplay makes a lot of money but their music is still garbage. And sorry dipshits, but I was born long after the boomer generation, I just started watching football real young. This site would be a lot more interesting if most of you were not afraid to post any opinion that hasn't been officially vetted by the mob on here. What do you have to lose?

  5.   People have been saying that the portal and NIL was going to ruin college football. I didn't see why that had to be the case. I get it now. I used to love the NFL, but free agency pretty much has ruined it. The team doesn't mean anything. I saw Harvey Martin interviewed one time. They asked him about throwing a funeral wreath in the Redskin's locker room one time after they kicked their asses. He said he can't believe the way players laugh and hug the other teams players after games. He said back then the teams hated each other. That was great football. The NFL has become almost unwatchable now. I still love college football but it's headed the same direction.

Try again Copernicus. The situation/timing forced his hand, and he is handling it with class. I’m sure MM and Sark had a discussion and worked toward this resolution together.

Yours is simply another contrarian take that ignores all situational context and seeks to identify MM as a bad guy or “not a team player”.

additionally, I’d wager this is the best result for both MM and Texas. It helps settle the QB room discussion for next year, and places Arch as QB2 for the CFP. I hope we don’t need arch, but I would prefer to have him as QB2 after seeing the full season play out.

I really appreciate the analysis Freud. Speaking of that, I have found that when people unnecessarily put stuff in parenthesis like "not a team player" they are often mentally unstable. It's not that I am a contrarian, it's that you are a cowardly automaton.

I think it's pretty clear at this point in their development that MM is further along, and that is why Sark started him in two games. Now that he has this much game experience it is not even close. Quinn has been injured several times. If he goes down in the playoffs and Arch is thrown in the game, then Texas could be in real trouble. If that happens many people will be questioning this decision.

  7.   There is an additional five day portal window in January for teams in the playoffs, so I think it is his choice to miss the playoffs. We have seen a lot of players skip meaningless bowl games. It was surreal to see Bijan and Roschon standing on the sidelines while we were getting beat down by Washington last year, but I can't really think of another athlete missing a playoff game. He's a great QB and has helped the team but this is poor form.

  8. Texas fans are understandably beaten down from 14 years of underachieving humiliation. However, teams come in cycles. This team is peaking with talent this year. They will be losing the QB, most of the receivers, and key pieces on defense to graduation and the NFL. There will likely never be another '05 team here or anywhere else. This is probably the most talent we will put togather for many years. At least internally, this team better be setting their sights pretty high.

I admit that I've been buried this week. What, specifically, have you heard from this team and coaching staff that makes you so down-hearted?

Not downhearted, I lost the ability to muster any emotion for this team 7-8 years ago. When I saw that they didn't care then I couldn't either. But to answer your question, it is more what I am not hearing. We can hope amongst themselves that they are aware that the team disgraced themselves last year, and they are focusing on not doing that again. But all I am hearing is the neat NIL deals in the works, and what a great recruiting class is coming in. I imagine if Jimmy Johnson were the HC he would get pissed if he heard any of that talk. He would remind them regularly that they embarrased themselves last year, and the only thing they need to think about is redemption. I personaly don't care if they go 5-7 again as long as they play violent emotional football, every play, every week, they do that and everything else will work itself out.

  12.   I never thought Sam Ehlingher had a legitimate D1 arm, but since moving on to the NFL his throwing motion and release have improved dramatically. Just shows once again what a clown Tom Herman was. Sam made almost no progression while he was here. Anyway, I was getting psyched about this season, finally having a legitemate quarterback on the roster. Until this week. I just don't like what I am hearing from this team and coaching staff. They had talent last year, that wasn't the problem. The problem is they quit. Nothing else matters until that is addressed. Most of those guys are still starting. This is basically the same group of players that humiliated themselves week after week. Other than a few platitudes about "Accountabiity" I don't see that anything has changed. This team is going to underperform and fail once again. OSU, Baylor, and other teams with men on the roster will roll over this group of ladies - bank It.

  14. First, let me say that was the most enjoyable football I have watched in maybe ten years. It was just such a relief, so refreshing to see a normal offence in Texas Longhorn uniforms.

You guys can tear my theory to pieces and piss on it - as is your custom, but I believe the first drive was a message. The first drive is often scripted. Maybe it was a hat tip to Greg Davis/Jeff Beck/all the Other A-holes, maybe it was a shout out to the malcontents on sites like this, or an inside to the coaching comunity. I just don't believe it was a coincidence that he ran the Trifecta of bad play calling made famous by our last 8 offensive coordinators. The unblocked screen, the wasted run into the center's ass, and of course the desperate bomb down the sidelines. Good one Sark.

Start Casey and just run screens and RB dump offs with the occasional play action bomb.  Anything over the middle and you are looking at a pick or PBU.  We can't do Sark's offense with this crew.

I think the last 8 or 9 Offensive Coordinators came to this same conclusion. They gave up what got them the job, and just ran the Greg Davis offense you are describing. I would rather go 0-11 than see that shit again. I just want to see agressive football, throw the ball down the field - if it gets intercepted fuck it. You really want to see screens? Is your post a joke? JFC

  16. I've always liked Sam, he's a warrrior, but I never thought he had the accuracy/arm strength/quick release needed to play in the NFL. Seeing him today he was almost unrecognizable. There was no hesitation, his throwing motion looks better and he was right on the money. I still think he may struggle with consistancy but he looks like he might be able to make a career of it, as a backup like Colt has. That is not a bad gig. The fact that he improved this quickly is infuriating really. It just demonstrates what a fraud Tom Herman is. We will never know what Sam might have acomplished with competant coaching the last four years.

  17. Tom Herman is not worried about getting fired. He knows it is a certainty at this point. It's just a matter of if it's this year or next. So when you see him on the sidelines and you could swear you care more about us losing than he does….it’s because it’s true. He is thinking about this just the way you or I would. He is making 5 Million dollars a year. Just ride it out as long as possible. Then move on to the next stop. Five years from now Texas will be no part of his universe. He thinks the fans are pathetic morons. Fuck Them. I am rich. My family is set for life. He is even getting some sick pleasure from inflicting pain on the fanbase. If you want to say that is BS then watch the game again and look at his smug ass on the sidelines. He pulled off a hell of a con. He only had to do it once. Congratulations Tom, you piece of shit. I can only hope Karma slaps your ass. In the mean time, can we move on to Urban?
