Burton once posted a picture of Mack for some story and he had the 247 site up on his monitor in the background
That shit is so wild to me. You're getting paid millions to do one of the most demanding, stressful jobs imaginable...and yet you waste time dicking around on the sports boards?

95% sure that’s Michelle
Didn’t Mack have interns who monitored the message boards? Maybe someone like that.

Is it better to stick with Herman or panic and make another unproven hire?
Not landing Urban Meyer will suck no matter what.
Having Herman coach next season is going to undoubtedly do material harm to the program as Texas will continue to fall behind in recruiting with a lame duck coach. It’s not clear though that the replacement candidates next season will be any better or worse than what’s available this season. The only upside in waiting is so the BMDs can save some money on the buyout at the expense of the program.

Haven’t watched this show in years. The trans bot vs Rusty was pretty epic. Also, the up spin on End Game’s hammer-like weapon seems like a pretty shrewd design.

What are people’s thoughts on Herman’s next stop? Will he flame out like Charlie or rebound?

It is. Talking fast food Mex West Texas' option of choice is Rosa's. I find the one in Odessa is the best location of them all. El Tacotote in El Paso is a close third. Both behind TPalenque. That said ive seen TP in the last few years follow in the steps of Taco cabana. It has to do with the distribution and consistency. Growing pains.
Not tacos, but if you live around SA make sure to try the Delia’s tamales that opened up recently. They are a valley institution.

Went to McDonald’s for dinner for the first time since the last time the McRib was back. The one and only good thing this thread has done for me- pointing out the return of this most amazing of all American fast food options.
Also, for any of you fucksticks claiming such and such Tex mex place is terrible you are just wrong. 98% of Tex mex in this state ranges somewhere from really good to sublime. None of it is gonna be at the level of a Michelin Star joint, but it’s almost all good and worth eating.I’ll never understand how the Michelin man obtained so much clout in the food service industry.

If beans are not a staple on your breakfast taco, you’re doing it wrong. Potato, egg and cheese? You are the most boring, mayo and vanilla motherfucker on earth. Stay out of food/urban threads
The only acceptable breakfast taco includes, and only includes, smoked barbacoa with salsa.

I just can't believe that Meyer wouldn't know early on if he really wants to get back in. If it isn't a quick "yes,as long as I get what I need." when we call then he isn't ready. I'm sure he knows he can't gut the tOSU staff but could take a couple. he would know if certain guys would be on board pretty fast.
It just makes no sense to drag this to the very end with CDC because he doesn't know if he wants to "return to the grind" yet. If he is getting what he wants from a AD support/organization control standpoint it should already be done, minus the bits the lawyers work through.
There is no way Burton would report Urban agreeing to the job prior to Herman's firing. Maybe he's said yes or maybe he's still thinking about it. The one thing to take from Burton's post is that Texas has not been told no yet as of this morning.

lol how many years did Mack take off of Colt's life with that 2009 CCG? He looked concussed throughout the whole game.

He won the conference with Colt, tho it could be argue that without VY he never makes it to 2009
He was also a fraction of a second away from losing the 2009 conference championship as well. I still remember how angry I was watching that play unfold in real-time.

There are good reasons to despise Herman on a personal level, but by God no coach I can remember had as unpleasent of a personality as Mack Brown. Unctuous, bitter, needy...yuck.

We just need to accept that only bad things can happen from now until after the game tomorrow, and that no news is good news until that time. Better to focus on burger condiments in the meantime.

I'd take Bill O'Brien hands down, I think, over the name that motherfucker floated to us in a chat group earlier this week. It was so bad about 2 or 3 of us assumed he was trolling. When he swore us to secrecy, one chat person made the correct and insightful response of "I'd be too embarrassed to share this with anyone."

You are right that most of them do drink hard, for a lot of the reasons that you mentioned. So, when amongst that circle people talk about "so and so" having a problem with the bottle you can bet that it's real and full blown ugly.
My suspicion is that Saban is sitting on him, as have other head coaches and that keeps him somewhat in check/functional, but when he has a chance to do it himself without any full time baby sitter it's just not going to happen.
How much drinking do you consider to be the threshold for "having a problem"? Being home all the time this past year I started having 1-2 drinks a day and that felt like too much and had to back off. Maybe we should have a poll.

I don't think Nahlin is nearly plugged into the AD as Burton, but he does take his reputation seriously and the last thing he wants is to publish "it's done" and it end up not working out. I'm guessing the positive reception to the "big push" yesterday was what brought about some of the messageboard insiders to come out with their "it's done" posts, but the reality is that there is still not a definite agreement.

I could see him doing fairly well at a school like UH where it's fairly easy to win. Not so much at a lower tier P5 school though.
