he was in the NCG in his 3rd year.
Mack Brown was in the NCG in 2010 but we pushed him out in 2014
Brown actually won a NC
That wouldn't have saved Kelly.

Lol as sad and pathetic as coming onto another teams message board. Go cry about missing the playoff some more
Are you that delusional
If I was aggy I would be playing with this nonsense to create more uncertainty around Tom Herman

Oh fuck off aggy, go troll somewhere else
You are trolling your own fanbase
Anyone who disagrees with your nonsense you flip out
Pretty sad and pathetic

CDC already said that Tom Herman isn't going anywhere.
But continue to think that they are actively looking for another coach.
Continue to push rumors made up by people who have zero connection to the program besides running a website

You don’t get to say that 12 win season was an anomaly. Look at his entire body of work at Notre Dame. You’re cherry picking to fit a narrative that Herman needs more time. Fuck that. If he wasn’t a fucking dickhead he wouldn’t even be on the hot seat. Instead he’s a fuckface and here we are.
You know him personally

Well I think your pessimism is unfounded and will be shown to be unnecessary very soon. I don’t hang on every word that the 995ers say but there’s enough smoke out there and I trust @closetojumping fully. Would be our luck to swing and miss but our chances of a big hit should not be understated
They are looking to create content so they are creating rumors.
Sad how self destructive some in the fanbase are.

You have no idea what you’re talking about once again. Kelly went 12-0 and played in the national title game his third year. No one would be calling for Herman’s firing if he went undefeated/made it to the playoffs last year.
Brian Kelly is having success at ND right now because they stuck with him
12-0 was an anomaly when you look at all the other years
Just do you because CDC doesn't care.
They aren't going to fire him for going 8-5 like ND didn't fire Kelly for going 8-5

A lot of ND fans wanted him gone. The message board chatter was Kelly wasn't good enough.
Brian Kelly was able to turn the corner at ND because they stuck with him.
People want to talk about what he has done the last 4 years.
I am looking at Year 1-7. Because if Kelly averages 8-5 and 9-4 for seven years at Texas
He would be wanting to push him out like some of you are doing with Herman
What he would be inheriting is a better and more coherent program than he took over at ND. Notre Dame had won 3, 6 and 5 games I'm the seasons prior. It was basically a full rebuild. Texas is not.
Was when Herman took the job.
Brian Kelly was given the time and space to improve ND.
Those 4 consecutive 10 wins seasons didn't come without going through years 1-7.
So some of you are wanting Brian Kelly but truthfully we may already have him

Oooh I'll be watching. 2020 has been a shitastic year for everyone but I'm still interested in seeing one more game before it's finished.
Now, will I be glued to the TV? Cheering for every great play like I normally would? Nope. In fact it'll be recorded since I'll be in the middle of class.
That's where things stand in the Tom Herman Texas Football era. I'd rather DVR and study than watch a live game.
This season also snapped my 11 year streak of attending every spring game and at least 1 home game. Wasn't planning on doing the spring game pre covid so I sure as shit wasn't going to actually pay to watch.
Fuck you very much, Tom.
Honest question.
Didn't the Charlie Strong years piss you off way more than what is going on now.
2010-2016 this season would have been considered a peak year.
Just interested why a 6-3 season will make you throw in the towel but three consecutive losing seasons didn't

A lot of 8-5 seasons and playing in the Music City and Pinstripe Bowls.
Pretty much what we have now with Tom Herman.

This Woodbey?
They didn't give up on Dunn.
We will find out. I trust that Chris Ash will have the secondary vastly improved next year.

Adimora started at Spur, not Cook, and it’s far from a given that Adimora would go out for the draft. He had an ok year, but nothing special. If we return Adimora and Cook, then we don’t need to look for a transfer at the spot.
True. But Alford should have replaced Cook.
They are after Woodbey for the Spur position. Because of academic reasons they are in play

Does anyone remember the backup running back. Might have been Ivan Williams. Benson going out with a concussion totally screwed up. Even with Simms if Benson played that game would have been over.
But there was no reason to be so thin at Running Back especially considering Benson was a true freshman.

Alford should have been at safety.
I trust Chris Ash here. Have to trust at least some of our coaches.
Ash has showed me so far his football opinion should be valued especially in regards to Safties.

USC boards are apparently saying Alford is going to transfer there. Reminder that he's not even in the portal yet.
Some people couldn't handle it when I told them it was Alford a few days ago.
Couldn't beat out Cook for the spur position to get on the field. I guess they are looking at the transfer portal for the spur position.
-
My guess it is Alford.
We will see.

Wonder who the OL Coach at Katy Taylor thinks is a better OLmen
Foster or Conner
Foster's buzz is about blocking Bryan Breese at some Rivals Camp.
Did Breese really do much at Clemson this year

Had to come back to read - but this. The only way that this doesn't wind up being another indictment against Herman and our program in general is if Card winds up being really fucking good - like at least as good as Sam - and JQJ winds up disappointing and potentially washing out somewhere else. I just don't see that being likely.
This isn't a Kyle Porter or Cam Rising or Byron Vaughs situation - this is a top 75 overall prospect at the most important position on the field who never played a snap for us. The chance of it blowing up in our faces in a couple of years is way too high.
JaQuinden Jackson at best would have been a more athletic Sam Ehlinger.
Ehlinger has limitations to his game. Half the sacks were his fault. Nothing against Sam. Great QB and a Leader.
But Texas needs to take another step up at the QB position. Hudson Card could be that guy.
A lot of it has to do with his quick release. His ability to deliver the ball quickly and accurately to the WRs. You combine that with the Running Game. The offense has a chance to be even more explosive next year.
Nothing against JQJ. But he would have stuck us in that same box that Ehlinger did.
Plus there are rumors that he didn't develop that much during the season. Difference between him and Ehlinger. Ehlinger forced himself to get better.

So your reasoning is let's stop trying to take layups because sometimes we can hit a 20ft jumper?
I want the staff to evaluate well regardless.
Problem this year is there hasn't really been camps.
I don't know understand why you would think the people at 247 and rivals can evaluate better than football coaches. I would be interested if any college or NFL hired someone from 247 or Rivals to evaluate for them
So your analogy is incorrect.
Like with Caden Sterns. Great Safety. Will play in the NFL. But doesn't have the over the top athleticism that other Safties have that will be drafted higher than him.
Caden Sterns wasn't the #1 safety that year.

Why don’t you do this? You made the claim, you do the work.
I already know. I am not the one freaking out over where 247 and Rivals has our recruits.
If a program bases their recruiting on where those recruiting sites have players they will fail.
Let's wait until the players get on campus and judge them.
Makes life difficult for our coaching staff
We expect Top 100 recruits. But often times players who aren't in the Top 100 are just as good.
So by demanding that we recruit a certain level of player we are only hurting ourselves. Because there are numerous examples of players who aren't in the Top 100, 300 or even Top 1000 who are playing on Sundays
I just want Sunday players regardless of their ranking

It's not about cherry picking one year in one state dude.
You can start in 2008 and go all the way until 2017
Texas is the only state that matters because that is where 80% of our players come from.

They would absolutely correlate to draft picks, but I Don’t have to pull all that data, because there’s plenty of studies already done to show correlation to recruiting rankings for both. You can pick your own sample sizes to try to ignore the overall data all you want, but recruiting rankings still matter.
So therefore we should withhold judgement until the players are on campus.
Who knows with Brooks.
Who is to say Brooks isn't the #1 RB in the state or let alone the country.
So recruiting rankings after college are a lot more important than before college. Recruiting rankings are determine by the NFL draft.

This could not be more wrong. Recruiting rankings absolutely correlate to draft picks and college team success. Listing an outlier at the end of your post doesn’t change that.
Do me a favor
Go back to 2008 and look at the recruiting ranking of players from the state Texas in the NFL.

You want to look like Auburn
They were the idiots this year. Luckily not us
If you had your way we would be stuck with a replacement like Charlie Strong again
