How do we know there weren't legitimate concerns with Hughes?
Because CDC sucks.

Then they should leave. Fuck any of our players that bad mouth our school. Aggy is a shit hole school in a shit hole town. Their current flame will burn out just like it did in the 90s, and what did they have to show for their time as “big brother” then.
I’m in SEC country and just about everyone here has come around to the fact that aggy are weirdos at best and a cult at worst. They are the punchline. Always have been and always will be.
I don’t think this attitude will be around much longer. This was a Tom Herman issue not a Texas issue. Herman was hated by almost every subset of Texas (fans, admin, boosters, players).
Sark seems likable. Hopeful that changes the narrative.

I would feel extremely conflicted if Texas takes Murphy this early, have to imagine that’s the death knell to the Ewers dream plus going out of state for a project as your first QB take is a big gamble (the upside is huge however)
I know we all want Ewers but unfortunately I think that ship has sailed. Murphy would be a nice consolation prize and also gives us an established presence out west. I’d be shocked if Ewers flips back to us.

This part...
They don't just hand out 5th stars... Or maybe they do.

Murphy’s an interesting prospect. There’s not very much film on him since he wasn’t the starting QB in 2019, and he didn’t get to play in 2020 . He’s big and he has a huge arm, but he’s not actually very good at football right now. His footwork is very sloppy and his throwing motion is long and inconsistent.
If max preps is correct, then he played in 5 games his sophomore year and went 26/58 (45%) 305 yds, 0 TD, 2 INTs.
Having said all that, he’s got the tools. A lot will depend on his work ethic and development. Anyone who’s seen him throw in person the last year will have a much better idea of him as a prospect than any of us trying to watch the limited clips of him playing in 2019 and some more recent 7v7/camp stuff.
What has garnered the 5 star rating then?

Lose LJ but gain Blue. Not a bad turnaround.

Steve Wiltfong: National Signing Day Eve Recruiting Buzz
***Could be a great day for Texas A&M. The Aggies start the day with the 247Sports Composite’s No. 7 class, a third-straight top 10 haul under head coach Jimbo Fisher. As I continue to talk to sources regarding the Top247’s No. 3 running back LJ Johnson, the more I love the Aggies' position as they battle Texas down the stretch. Jimbo Fisher’s track record (guys like Dalvin Cook), the long-standing relationship with Tommie Robinson and Texas A&M never wavering on who their top running back target in 2021 was, I think in the end has helped the College Station program. Texas did lead at one point in the fall but the consistency at Texas A&M sees them through I believe. I also think one of the big components in this recruitment is Name, Image, Likeness and the SEC stage and TV ratings for the big games in the league was another factor that helped Fisher and company.
Hmm? If that's the case then we should have won out.
F&*% Tom Herman.
