"Hey everyone, it's your responsibility to account for my behavior, and it's in no way incumant on me to modify my behavior to fit into society and succesfully interact with groups of people. Because Fuck You, I'm not changing anything about myself, you people should make changes to accomodate my presence. If you don't like the fact that I smell like shit, well don't breath or hold your breath."
Society since the creation of the internet in a nutshell.Help! I'm in a nutshell! How did I get into this nutshell? Look at the size of this bloody great big nutshell! What sort of shell has a nut like this? This is crazy!

It's not even mostly the cost. It's that the ref union has the NFL by the balls and they don't want this, because it both makes them obsolete and further reinforces how bad they are at their jobs.
And the NFL won't go against them, or it's replacement refs 2.0
And that was a disaster
It's about the NFL and owners not giving a shit. It's a multi-billion dollar a year business, if they wanted it they'd do it tomorrow & pay the refs extra to make up for hurting their feelings.

I'm sure a multibillion dollar company can pay some nerds to figure it out. They should be able to combine the location of the ball on the field with the replay cameras so a guy in a booth can pinpoint the instant the runner's knee is down, and know where the ball goes. Relay that to some on-field tech in the sideline markers and make it extremely accurate.
This really shouldn't be the debate though, the tech isn't hard to figure out. It's about getting the calls right and removing as much human error (or favoritism) from the equation as possible. Again, other sports use this technology to know exactly if a ball barely grazed a line, or if a soccer ball crossed into the goal after getting kicked a million times by world class athletes that can leg press 1000 pounds. The NFL should care more about the perception of their product, and work to alleviate the claims that there is foul play.
I'm sorry, are you under the notion that the NFL and owners give a flying fuck about getting calls right and would spend money to get it done?

I know we're ragging on him for dropping that ball, but Xavier Worthy dropped a sure-fire TD pass in the Holiday Bowl as well. Granted Xavier Worthy was not a POS to his team and coaches.

Well, sure, there’s all that. However, based on what Moffitt did to the roster last offseason at Elko’s behest, the toughest part for Hudson might be when they bring Kevin Spacey in and strap Hudson to a chair at the lunch table and then force feed him giant cans of spaghetti and meatballs until he dies, passes out, or shits himself violently. That extra 25 pounds won’t be added passively, guys.

When the defense forced a pick six from Howard, or a punt return TD from SIlas, you would be talking about the sack that Quinn took when his RT got whipped and we used the field position and our chance to make the most of the situation to tie the game back up and go to OT?
i don’t know what you’re trying to say here, but if Quinn takes that sack this entire board would be calling for his head on a pike and there’s not a single person who could say otherwise. I’d be among them. That ball has to get thrown in that situation regardless of the outcome. If the RT was able to be something more than a traffic cone that the DE simply runs by then ball gets in the air and we live with the results. Instead, the DE gets to Quinn in his throwing motion, they get the absolute perfect bounce, and the season was over.

this is awesome. could you imagine the board if Quinn tucked the ball and took the sack there? the guy tried to make a play and didn’t, worst possible outcome happened which i didn’t even consider as a possibility before the snap because of how unlikely it was. complete no win situation for him there and it never should have gotten to that point. That sequence was a microcosm of our offensive failures this year. OL got their asses whipped 3 of 4 plays, Sark ran a couple of slow developing plays on the fucking goal line that completely backfired, and Quinn turned the ball over. the trifecta.

He was a huge part of turning this program around and I’ll always appreciate him. He’s not VY, but he was damn good and better than we’ve had in a long time. Hook ‘em Quinn!

The goal line was on Sark. Quinn shouldn’t have fumbled but Sark fucked the team for the 3 plays before. Quinn was good, but not quite good enough. Brutal way for his UT career to end but he helped bring us a loooong way from where we were.

bullshit way to end but hell of a fun year. On to next year.

i’ll never understand the refusal to go to arch in the red zone. It was successful vs aggy and then completely disappears except for a few fourth and short conversions. it just doesn’t make sense to give arch the ball on 4th and 1 at midfield but not 1st and goal from the 1.

Well shit.
They had a dude coming unblocked on Quinn's blind side every play. That was going to get us eventually.
he wasn’t unblocked, he just made Williams his bitch and got to Quinn before anything could be done

hell of a drive. feels like we’re scratching and clawing for every yard but if our D can keep it up their defense will break. 5-1/2 minute TD drive in the 3rd quarter? didn’t know we still had that in us.
