Don't know about that specific one, but saw a clip earlier of one coming down that was and 40+ people are missing.

only one large building collapsed locally, an under construction government office building with 81 workers reportedly missing.

    i’m staying here.

maybe the pic makes it look worse than it really is, most are hairline cracks but there are probably 50+ in the unit.

seems cosmetic rather than structural and we’ve been cleared to stay unlike some other places.

i’m hearing it’s a similar situation at hotels and friends places too anyway.

  2. here’s the entrance to my unit:

it’s like this all around, but i don’t think i’ve got it particularly bad compared to what i’ve seen from others.

there’s some condos where residents haven’t been let back inside yet.

elevators aren’t working here so it’s a trek up and down 11 flights of stairs to get out.

that would be 45 if you’re on the top floor.

We're not in agreement. She wasn't anointed. She was an excellent candidate and you're fucking stupid. Sorry.

then please enlighten me how she underperformed biden in just about every state?

she was an unprimaried, backup replacement after biden’s health deteriorated more quickly than jerry jones’ football teams.

she was gilbert coming in for injured colt.

you’re defending a candidate that got their ass kicked in embarrassing fashion by donald fucking trump as an excellent candidate?

    wtf is wrong with you?

the topic is that we should have been better, and you arguing against that is a very weak position to take particularly after just losing an election as pivotal as this one seemed to be.

This is a stupid take. There was a convention. Democrats - thousands of them from across the country - voted for her. It wasn't a coronation. She had it wrapped up because she's a shrewd, smart and excellent politician. There was no alternative so go get fucked.

haha right. i’m saying that’s the problem.

there were many better alternatives, and that should have been realized long before biden’s near stroke in the debate.

it also should have been realized in the days immediately following the debate, before harris was anointed without proper vetting.

  5. in response to comments about the weak candidacy of kamala, there were virtually no questions asked after biden bowed out.

it was like, yea let biden spend his twilight years crocheting scarves in delaware, and lets immediately rally around a candidate none of us voted for.

she was next in line, but she wasn’t the most qualified, most likeable, most policy oriented, or best positioned to beat trump.

there wasn’t any real substance behind it, no agenda other than beat trump, it was all manufactured and it felt fake.

even on surly, it felt like contrary opinions weren’t acceptable.

the fact that any dissent wasn’t open to discussion was the nail in the coffin.

i think we’ve learned that you can’t skip the primary process.

we’re preaching democracy but democrats, independents and swing voters didn’t get that from either party in this cycle.

somehow, trump honestly spewing his hate, racism, and lies connected better with voters than the biden/harris puppet show.

Not sure how one could possibly underperform as a VP. It's pretty much a do nothing job. People generally just flat out didn't like Kamala.

the general sentiment after biden flubbed the debate was ah shucks! i guess it could be kamala. and yes people clearly didn’t like her, but that was pushed aside and all was forgiven.

  7. i think the biggest issue (and there were several), was a lack of a primary. voters didn’t choose the democratic candidate. kamala was often viewed as an underperformer as vp.

and that issue came from biden, his handlers, the dnc, anyone that could have stepped in and said yo, you’re too old for another term. when there was plenty of time and opportunity to do exactly that.

it was too little, too late.

even so it’s still an utter shock.

    probably moreso than 2016.

even trump supporters seemed not to believe in his chances and were ready to claim voter fraud or whatever the fuck.

you’ll hear no comments of voter fraud today after they spent months of diminishing and questioning the legitimacy of our electoral process.

If he goes 100-100 with 25 tds the next 3 games (that includes OU), not only will I say he should be the starting QB, I will write him in on my Presidential ballot

    this is exactly right.

ewers has earned every benefit of any doubt and is fully capable of leading us to a championship. he may well be a heisman contender, high first rounder.

but in a situation where there’s a doubt, and arch does indeed fire off record breaking stats while looking like vince himself, then let the young man work his magic. it’s an unlikely scenario, but not outside the realm of plausibility.

you start manning if, and only if, you believe he’s the difference between a national championship or falling just short.
