Well, that and their inability to admit that 350 years of slavery plus 100 years of Jim Crow laws and institutional racism have an effect on present day socioeconomics.🙄

I would make sure your donation goes to football if that is what you want. I just had to email them to make sure my monthly has been/will be going to football only.

CS mom has wanted Texas since the spring. I won’t post details until he officially signs somewhere in December, but there is a reason I posted in March to expect a lot of CS to Texas talk a few days before the 9.99 crew started talking more positively about Texas’ chances in the spring.
$9.99 are you outta yo mind?!?

I guess that question was answered. A real shitty move by Sonny Shipp, didn't need to include the blurb about Simmons already committing to Texas.
Yeah that is really shitty.

He also said he was leaving home today but couldn't say where he was going.
Is the announcement open to the public?

Ohio State’s Texas recruiting has fallen off dramatically and let’s hope it stays that way.
They’ve got the NFL pitch, which does and should work for some guys. After that, they’re into the phase of depth chart shaming and pressuring for commitment lock-ups. I’m sure they’re doing all of that while Ryan Day is also showing a keen interest in each recruit’s younger siblings, who Day insists on having the recruit bring along for the visit.
I’d really like to see them fall off some this year while they replace some key guys. Probably just fantasy, given the way they’ve recruited, but at least my fantasies are mostly wholesome, unlike Ryan Day’s, which are likely too grim for public discussion.
Ryan Day is a pedophile? What is origin of this story?

I love how their coach just let that slide. Besides, it's not like Brock needs that much work. He only gave up 4 sacks in 5 plays during Bama's spring game last year to Dallas Turner.
Is his shoulder just beyond repair or is he just lazy? No fire in that push at all.

You guys (you guys meaning a small handful of posters) are the ones who keep dredging it up and whining. 2 of the threads I follow had rage posts this morning about comments from the Iowa State AD that were literally echoing comments made by posters here since the day you announced you were leaving. I didn't post Jamie Pollard's comment. I wasn't firing shade. I just pointed out how hypocritical the responding butt hurt was, because there were multiple posts taking shots at my school.
Is there a good Cincy board that discusses a broad range of topics, has a well developed community of people from all over the world with differing view points coming together to discuss them? I'd be down. I don't pollute Texas sports threads or SEC threads or sports threads that have nothing to do with my interests. A thread about the Big 12 going forward and a thread about Iowa State are fairly pertinent to my interests.
I don't have a grudge against Texas for leaving. The paycheck and exposure are bigger than you'd ever get here. I get that. But this insistence on gratitude is A) silly and B) something you're never going to get from your new conference mates either. Get over that.
Just like Texas, Surly also dominates in its spectrum of power & influence. It is good to be the King.

I don't think you could do that for obvious reasons. I think it would have to be on the users to create a culture of shame for those who do not. Even then you have to realize that you are talking about 600 active users, 6000 people that comment occasionally and 60,000 people that lurk. The best that can be done, imo, is positive peer pressure from the owners of the site and expectations from posters that you should contribute, and I don't see that happening.
You would be surprised how motivating shame can be.
If you don't have $9.95 to contribute each month then you probably shouldn't be wasting time on this site.

I know you talk about this all the time and I appreciate the sentiment but charity is a personal thing. We do 5 figures through compassion international (and other similar charities with direct aid to registered impoverished) a year- that goes to feeding a kid for $50 a month, then you can give a yearly gift of $1,000, you can give birthday gifts of $100, shit like that. We got 5 because we all picked someone with our birthday and we write to them, and pray for them and the like. When we get back pictures of the cow they bought so they now have economic security, or the tin roof shack so that they don't have to live in the mud anymore, or see the micro businesses they are starting with chickens and goats and selling shit there is no way I'm putting paying Texas football players in front of that- if it's an either/or. So I totally and completely get the idea that a Billionaire has bigger fish to fry with their charitable giving than Texas One, or anyone on here.
But, and this is a huge ass but, if they are giving money hand over fist to the athletic department b/c they care about Texas winning and being good at sports they just HAVE to reconsider Texas One. No facility in the world is going to attract top talent if somebody else is paying that top talent. The idea that they give $5M to stroke their own ego with a naming right on something that doesn't move the needle and sit out funding the pay to players while guys like yall and Immamac are carrying a big load is just bullshit and we have got to do something as an AD to get over whatever is causing that rift and point out to the benefactors that talent is the lifeblood of the program and it's money a lot better spent to get a few missing pieces in the portal or on the recruiting trail than to buy out 8 win Estaban, because 8 win Esteban might have been 11 win Steven with Addison and a sack machine in the portal smoothing out our two biggest areas of need. I know I'd rather see the checks written for success to players than chasing buy outs on guys who can't get it done because they are outmatched and outgunned on the talent front. That's the response to the Billionaire. The response to the guy on this part of the site that hasn't contributed is - why the hell not? You are kind of being a bad person, if you use this site all the time, value the community it creates, and can't fork over the inconsequential amount of $9.99 a month. Don't be a free rider. Contribute to Burnt Endz. or Texas One. But it's just really shitty that you would take something that gives you this much joy and give back nothing in return. I honestly don't understand that sentiment at all. We've got 60,000 unique users. It shouldn't be asking too much for Surly alone to be pumping 7 figures into the Texas One or Burnt Endz account. I just don't understand people. I don't understand the docs and lawyers with 20,000 posts on this site that can't be bothered to set up a 10 a month contribution. People are strange and I don't understand them.
Here's an idea. Make every Surly user contribute $9.95/a month and 100% goes to NIL. Boom.

We could definitely use another big body on the dline and probably another corner, but there really isn’t much to complain about.
Also, the Choater is fucking killing it after half the board wanted him gone after year 1.
Yep. I apologize to Coach Choate. Outside of RB, LB play as incredible this year and the recruiting is off the charts.

Yea and CB is like 6’1ish and 210 lbs.
She had no business provoking him, especially if she was “in fear of her life”. He should have understood that he was in a no-win situation though.
He also could have done like Dave Chappelle and hire a woman to come beat her up instead. He must be getting smaller. I read earlier that he was 6'5" 250 lbs.

I'm going to preface this by saying that what Beard did is inexcusable.
But wow Beard is an idiot for proposing to this woman. She is so starved for attention that she breaks his reading glasses in half to instigate a reaction from him. There are women you date and there are women you marry. This is a woman that you never marry. Does he really think that she will be a good partner?
Also, you got to learn to walk away, take a drive or just get out of the house. If your fiance instigates fights and you have that type of temper then you need to exercise some discipline and get out while you can cool off. Total fucking moron.
