Man, the extended scoring droughts from this team seem to transcend coaches. WTF?  It's still better than a loss.

Also, FUCK THEM REFS.  Seriously, that was some bullshit down the stretch.  If you're going to call a tight game, call it both ways. Don't let one team commit fouls and the other not.

Not sure I saw it that way. Ramey got 2 shots on a call and blew them both. Allen got 2 on the last possession for the game winner. I didn't see them lopsided much at all

Speaking of idiots we haven't heard of in awhile, whatever became of our pal TJHooker?

I think he was my ex wife's cousin's husband. Very nice guy in real life I couldn't say one sideways word about the guy but he was very innudated in republican rhetoric. Thankfully almost never brought that up in person that I can remember and that's always been a reminder to me that these trump people aren't just raging assholes. Some are good dudes and good family men with wayward beliefs who get sucked up into the cult of personality.

This dipshit has no idea how a hard salary cap league works. Every other team in the league has to start losing players to free agency or trade once they start paying a high priced quarterback, but the Cowboys are miraculously going to be able to sign 7 players including the quarterback and a replaceable RB to top-five position money and still sign all of the necessary defensive pieces to higher end position money. Which they surely will be asking for because every player expects top of position money from the Cowboys.

Even La'el Collins, who is maybe a top 12 or so right tackle in the league, just got a contract that will be only 1 million shy in guaranteed money from the highest-paid right tackle in the league.

Just for shits and giggles Vic go ahead and break down the exact cap number for each of these signings plus the players on contract. Then factor in a 6 for 90 55 guaranteed for Zeke, a 5 for 100 60 guaranteed for Cooper, and the exact same contract Wentz got for Dak (which is low balling what it will really be). Then explain exactly how, under the current salary cap, they will be able to re-sign all of those defensive players I mentioned that are coming free in the next two seasons. Trust me Vic, you don't know jack fucking shit.

The only way the Collins deal make sense is if they're planning on cutting Tyron after this season and moving Collins to left tackle. Which seems kind of crazy because Collins is only a decent right tackle and Tyron is still extremely elite the 13 or so games he plays every year. I've been trying to work these scenarios and figure out a single way any of these moves make sense and I can't find one at all. I don't see any possible way outside of historically elite drafting over the next 4 to 5 drafts that this team doesn't regress horribly on defense and as a team starting next season.

if you're going to make that accusation then I extend the same question to you. Bring the math to the table and explain how everything I've said isn't correct given the current contracts, figures that we know, and the estimated contracts for Zeke, Dak, and Cooper.

I've done the calculations myself given the current cap level and a factored in  3% increase, but if you're so sure you know what you're talking about refute everything I've said with actual data. I do this kind of stuff for a living but that doesn't mean I can't make a mistake on a fun little side project I'm calculating in between meetings. I don't believe I have but if you're so sure then show it.

I'll even give you a head start. The NFL cap is set for 2019 at 188.2 million. There's been between a 5 and 10 million growth in cap annually over the last several years so for the next four to five years valuation you can factor between 3 and 6% annually in cap growth.

The Cowboys current salary cap number is easy to find as is their contracts on the books and when they expire. Use the same estimated figures I listed above for the QB/RB/WR deals and use the figures we've been told for Jaylon and La'el's new deals.

For the defensive players I listed coming up in the next two years it's reasonable to expect Jones will request a top 5 CB contract from the Cowboys if he has another season like last year and guys like Brown/Woods/Malik Collins I'll leave you leeway to estimate what they can reasonably get given their statistical position rank.

    Have at it.

Boom and fucking head shot. Damn drew and vic got a fat dick slap right across the face. Haven't seen a roasting like that in a while.

    Damn, that was brutal

gen Z is the current highschoolers and younger, maybe college freshmen as well.  for our second war in iraq, it was mostly later Xers/early Y (Y is now known as millennials), a cohort that sometimes is called the oregon trail generation.   for the first, it was early gen Xers mostly.

I always heard the generations were 18 years. War ended in late summer 1945 so 1946 - 1964 are boomers.

    '65 to '83 were GenX

    '84 -'02 were millennials

    '03 - '21 whatever the fuck they're called.

If that is correct I have almost zero doubt bias by that official and maybe others in the game caused the Saints to lose the game.

Ironically it was the Rams that were bitching about keeping a ref out of that game all week before.

I like this, but I just don't think there are enough qualified refs out there. We can fire refs left and right, but there is a possibility that these are the best the game has to offer.

Watching college football, the refs are sure as hell no better at that level.

You're probably right so leave off that last part but implement the first two.

Yeah, but you don't want a final Hail Mary heave to be challenged and then given a PI for the players jostling in the end zone to catch the ball.

Why not? If there's blatant enough pass interference to warrant the call then it should be called.

  8. 3 hours ago, Vic Mackey said:

I think the NFL needs to reserve one challenge solely to PI. So in essence, you have 3 challenges a game. Being a spot foul and so subjective in nature, it has to be able to be challenged. I honestly wish it was not a spot foul. I like the college rule better. 15 yards.

Just give both teams one challenge per game in the 4th quarter for any officiating error. If you win your ref challenge you keep it and can challenge again until you lose one.

Establish league hub like the NHL has that handles all challenges and reviews so the game refs are completely out of it. NHL has done it for years and it's clearly the best system in all of sports and every league should use it.

Refs get graded extra harshly for 4th quarter fuckups and after a serious number of game effecting fuckups are automatically fired without possibility of appeal.

This shit isn't that hard. Except the NFL wants to reserve the right to fix games.

  9. If I'm the Saints I don't let those refs leave New Orleans with their leg bones intact. Only other time I've seen refs be the 100 percent reason a team loses a game/series of that magnitude was the 2002 WCF where the fix was 100 percent in for the Lakers over Sacramento.

As a non professional musician I say all the time on here, George is flat. It’s painful for me to listen to him, but what gets me is that he actually thinks he is good. I would never blame anyone for playing music regardless of skill level, it’s one of the greatest joys of my life, but you can’t suck and think you’re really good.

I sent this to Rhyner once and it blew him away as it should anyone. These guys may be the best cover band in the planet. I heart Sergey Kashirin so hard, one of the best guitarists you will ever see.

This is as tight as it gets, just saw they will be at the Granada in Dallas on Jan 20th and I’ll be in palm springs damnit. Oh yeah, they’re Russian

Holy shit Leonid and Friends are going to at Granada? That youtube has been my go to listen in the car for 25 or 6 to 4 for a couple years now.

Also I'm pretty sure they're Ukranian

Um it’s not a top five pick first of all, secondly throwing games in order to hurt potentially affect rivals draft picks is beyond stupid

They're tied with the Bucs and Jags for the 5th spot but I'm not sure what the tie breakers are. Could be the 5th pick. If they had won that game they would be tied with 4 teams at 6-11. Depending on tie breakers it could have been a 6 spot drop.

Besides, nobody said throw the game. You rest most of your starters on both sides, especially all of your best starters, to get ready for the playoffs and if the other team can't beat your backups then so be it. But you don't go balls out to win a game that does nothing for you.

Thank God Seattle has a shitty OC who kept banging his dick in the dirt with the running game when Wilson was averaging almost 9 yds an attempt. May we get so lucky next weekend and Goff and/or the amazing child coach wither under the playoff lights.

Wow this is dumb as fuck

Actually it's spot-on. When you do dumb shit and don't use your brain it almost always comes back to bite you in the ass. Look at the Bears. They had the opportunity last week to rest their guys and set up a meeting with the Vikings who they own and can destroy defensively but they didn't use their brains and it came back to bite them in the ass.

Watch out for this top 5 draft pick now I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys stupidity lands the Giants an absolute Cowboys killer for years to come. They're a quarterback and maybe an offensive line piece or two from being a dominant offense.

Yes, because they're definitely going to give the exact 100 percent account of the timeline of events.

"Wait, we didn't check on the kid for 4 days and when we finally did and got around to getting him medical attention he died? Woah, better change that to we saw him immediately showing signs of illness. Yeah, that's better. Merry Christmas."

Point is they're holding these people in concentration camps with zero 3rd party oversight and regulation into their treatment. This shit starts happening when that's the case.

I'm sorry. As fucked up as Mack's decline was, it was never that bad. I refuse to believe that Mack could fuck it up that badly for 3 consecutive season. Even the limp dick, bitch tits version of Mack was good for 8-5.

    Do you not remember 2010?

And that 8-5 was misleading because the big 12 was so bad that year. Every top half of the conference program was breaking in a new QB except for us and we had a golden path to the conference title and still managed to fuck it up.

BTW, next year looks to shape up similarly. OU losing QB and hopefully no gift transfer to bail out Riley. WVU losing QB. TCU losing QB (assuming Robinson transfers and he sucked anyway). We should be favorites to win conference next season.

It's hard to keep track of all of them, but not once has he faced the person he's firing. Fired Comey with 3,000 miles between them (was that by tweet?). Kelly fired Tillerson while he was on the shitter.

HS and Spring Game video, the fact that he’s significantly taller and heavier than all the others except Sam but still displays decent speed, the fact that he beat out Thompson for 3rd string, and that it seemed to really sting Riley when we took him, and was the both the higher rated prospect and more coveted by schools that can be choosy.

Ok so basically nothing. Got it.

  17. Based on expectations you're right, although because of shitty coaching Williams is being played at a position anyone who watched him at Texas knew he wouldn't be able to play in the NFL. If he gets moved to right tackle I think he ends up having a much better career.
