You should find who did this and MAKE THEM APOLOGIZE TO US!!1Just be careful not to get into a fight. I'm guessing you haven't been training at the same altitude as Temple, Texas.

Wonder if the pattern of terrible OL play leading to repeated QB injuries makes Conner and/or his family rethink moving baseball up his priority list.

Would love for this to once surprisingly go our way. Can’t even think the last time a recruitment like this surprised us last second for the good guys.
Payton Kirkland kind of came out of nowhere a few days before announcing for us. Not a 5 star, but still very highly regarded at the time and a surprise in our favor. Never even visited campus before committing if I recall. But yeah, these typically don't seem to go our way.

GH said he still thinks it's Arky
Yeah, it seems clear to me that he ends up at Arkansas. The G League visit is just optics on his part. He could have visited them at any point before Texas had released him from his NLI.

He's their Miami beat writer I think. I only asked because the info from Ari Wasserman on his podcast was so bad (it was algorithm rec'd to me by Spotify) that I'm a bit weary of their stuff on recruiting.
Yeah Wasserman isn't great. But this note was so specific it had to be from someone on the ground witnessing it first hand so definitely a positive in our favor. Long time to go, but explains why several analysts think we currently lead.

Who is their general recruiting writer that would have notes like that?
This writeup was from Manny Navarro. I'm not following him or anything but the story was listed under the "More for you" section of my feed so guessing since I typically read most recruiting related stories it showed up for me.

The Athletic has a note today about the IMG Academy's Under Armour camp. Apparently Jerrick Gibson's dad is recruiting for Texas and was urging Oklahoma native and 5-star defensive lineman David Stone to give Texas some strong consideration.

I'm Shocked that Petrino is leaving UNLV high and dry. He's usually so loyal and honest.

Would love to get another year from Whittington, but I just have a feeling he's gone. Agents always sell these kids that they'll go 2-3 rounds higher than the draft grade says because it only takes one team to like them, and the agent has a contact with such and such team and they're telling me that if you're available in the 3rd round, they'd take you in a heartbeat....blah blah blah.

This is the main point people miss in these discussions, for NFL players it's all about landing that 2nd contract.
This.
But also, these top draft picks get a ton of endorsements in the NFL as well. It's not an either/or thing where it's a one for one swap of NIL money vs Salary.
Trevor Lawrence makes an estimated $3MM per year in endorsements in addition to his salary.- 1

Setting aside your bias as a rival fan, ask yourself these questions:
Another: Will Texas offensive line be really good for the first time in forever when Arch sees the field for meaningful snaps in 3 years?
Let's not underestimate how big of an impact that had in things. For the first time in forever, it feels like luck has been on our side a bit. Cistobal leaving really helped turn the tide on our OL class last year. But credit to Flood for not quitting either. Hand would have been touring all the BBQ restaurants nearby for 8 months and then last minute offer some out of state 2 stars to fill out the roster.

Wonder if Mario Williams told Addison to check out the the baseball facilities while he's here just for giggles. Hope I'm wrong, but this sure seems like Addison's camp trying to make it seem like there wasn't already an agreement in place with USC.
Only hope is if Marion can sell coaching him up into a high first rounder rather than a late first or early 2nd. That difference can turn out to be way more than whatever the USC NIL offer could be.

Love bringing in kids like Hall and Billingsley this off-season. Sometimes if a kid is a little bit lazy or immature in his freshman season, that can be turned around. They are so used to dominating just on natural talent alone, and they haven't ever had to work that hard for it, focus on fundamentals, or run crisp routes.
I'm not one to fully believe practice reports, but Sanders sure seems to be turning heads so far this offseason. I think he ran into this very issue (Along with not wanting to block apparently). But a big part of coaching is motivating and getting the most out of your players. Giving guys like Marion and Banks ultra talented kids who need to be pushed and motivated isn't the worst thing in the world. Billingsley had success with Banks coaching him in the past, so maybe he knows what buttons to push. Plus I think Billingsley being here has had to have pushed Sanders a bit as well. Bottom line is we need more competition in every room on campus at this point.

Well Duh, all of the kids choosing A&M due to *cough cough* "NIL Money" are going to have negatively impacted student-athlete experiences.

Well he was fully committed to Wyoming first, so I guess based on that guy's logic, he never should have wanted Tennessee to take him in the first place. So it all worked out for everyone.

7 national championships, but surly finds a way to criticize saban. L O L. Makes you wonder if God decided to coach Texas we would bitch about his staff hires.
I mean why did he pick Mary? She hasn't even had a kid before..... What is he thinking? I give him 2, 3 years tops and we'll all be looking for a new God.

Agree that if we could get Drew Sanders, that'd be huge.
Then we just need someone to step up with a big NIL deal for Billy Bowman's softball playing girlfriend. I'd like to see what he could do at WR here, given that was supposedly part of the allure (along with the girlfriend) to going with OU. I saw those 2 and Ja'Tavion play together for Denton Ryan in a game against a friend's kid. They demolished them like 80 to negative 12. It was insane.

Recent history tells us that Texas gives head coaches one chance at a reboot to bring in new assistants. I doubt Sark wants to use that up this early in his tenure. If PK can make progress next year then great. If not, he can use his reboot and either bring in Patterson off the bench or someone else from the outside and buy himself another year or 2 to right the ship. Seems logical from Sark's perspective and self-preservation mode. I don't think replacing Coleman alone qualifies as a reboot. It's either gotta be changing a coordinator or bigger staff overhaul. I just can't see them changing PK after 1 year. But just because IT hasn't heard anything, that doesn't mean squat either, so who knows.

1.Because kids are dumb, 2. anything that happened more than 4 years ago may as well have happened in the cretaceous age, 3. aggy will endlessly pump up Durkin to be the greatest defensive mastermind of the 21st century. 4. See #1
Hopefully Durkin recruits against himself. Some of those high end players they just bought are likely going to have issues being coached by him (on top of realizing they're stuck in College Station), so hopefully they'll become malcontents, openly talk about how much of an ass he is, and then portal out. Short of that, if we get Patterson on staff, he can teach the other coaches/staff how to negatively recruit. He's the expert at that it seems.

Ewers on campus last season doesn't improve our o-line or defense. We would have still sucked and still lost games, just like we did Sam's first year. And unlike Sam, Ewers may have transferred at the end of it when he was no longer the golden boy.
Having a decent QB that can move the chains helps our defense considerably. The defense typically played like crap much more-so in the 2nd half of games. Better QB play forces defenses to play us straight up and not stack the box. Therefore giving our RB more room and we don't have as many 3 and outs. And if our coaches have faith that we can score points they won't take as many chances on 4th down at midfield. I don't know how many times we just gave up the ball to the other team at midfield because Sark felt like he had to risk it because he didn't know if we'd be able to move the ball at all over the remainder of the game. Even if he still played all gas, no brakes and went for it, we likely convert at a much higher rate. Not to mention the impact of cutting down the turnovers. Even having average QB play last year would have made a big difference for our defense. Nothing I saw tells me that we still wouldn't have been a below average defense. But not nearly as shitastic as we were.
