Considering moving the basketball program not only off campus but out of Norman. ... Might be the dumbest idea ever.

This idea is dumber than a mud fence. The population in Moore is roughly half of that in Norman.

I have no idea what these people’s skillsets are, what their jobs actually require, or really what they even do. Thus I don’t know if these changes are terrible or terrific. But if I had to guess, it is probably somewhere in between. Thats my hot take for the day.

This seems like the right take for most of us who don't have some connection to the inner workings of things. The only thing that stands out to me is that unless you're in an organization known for having a deep bench and a history of successful internal transitions, this feels like a comfort move. It's also inconsistent with Sark's other moves when backfilling roles.

Could all four people have been ready to level up and perform in more prominent roles? Maybe so. But the odds are not all are prepared for a jump. Time will tell, but football recruiting at Texas is not a learn-on-the-job role.

  3. Their capacity to continue to raise the bar of self-humiliation is just astounding.

Also, firing JimBob after getting rolled in Oxford makes sense. And that's precisely why they won't do it. That and how the hell are they going to raise $100M+ for buyout/signing bonus for the next jamoke?

I didn’t say anything about the next year when fat Ron Prince danced down the sideline and everyone’s phone died cause of the rain in a 41-21 beat down. My mom thought I died from a Jordy Nelson TD

Dude... Ron Prince stomping around on the sideline like he's The Whiz is burned into the worst of my permanent memories. I still get white hot with rage when I think about that moment and that period of Texas football.

That man is climbing up in my hero ranks.

Kiffin is the closest thing to Steve Spurrier that exists today. I'm glad he exists, and that he's leading a different program than the one I root for.

    Fuck the Adams Family.

I'm still pissed and will never fucking forgive them. And I was irate seeing them put the Oiler uniforms on the Titans this past weekend.

I'll take THINGS WHICH ARE NEVER EVER FUCKING GOING TO HAPPEN for $1000, Alex.

Everyone thinks this guy is going to be a home run in the league. I keep thinking he's going to flame out, lacking mental toughness and enough humility to realize he has to earn his stripes. What the fuck do I know though? I'd likely get fired for being the GM who passed on him, but I can't see making that pick right now.

I'll do like every year. Wake up at 730 and see where the prices are. If something I want to pay then get it and go. If not then watch it at home. Not feeling like paying $400+ per ticket to sit up top. I'll just get lunch and watch on the couch.

Weather should be good tomorrow though so that'll keep some people from selling. Both teams being 5-0, even if OUs is a fugazi number with their best win being SMU, will also keep it hot.

@closetojumping on IT live just now Gerry said he heard from someone who would know that Ty Simpson is likely the guy for Bama this year.

Tommy Rees kind of telegraphed this one by making comments about how Milroe and the other guy are still competing/hadn't given up.   Nevermind, I confused him with the Notre Dame transfer kid. Whatever. Don't make a shit, etc...

I work in conversational AI at Insync.AI.

What goes over most people's head is that Language Models like ChatGPT and Bard aren't Knowledge Models.  They are merely predictive models of what they expect to come next in the word/sentence/paragraph based on what it has seen.

They don't actually "know" anything at all.  They are like 9.95's in that way.

100% agree. That said, once these platforms can solve the context window issues it seems like a lot of the rote text work like building a simple crud app, or writing a script to connect to API will be easily generated by an LLM. My guess, purely speculative, is that the lower level software engineers and similar will be replaced by LLM outputs in under 5 years.

To that end, an interesting experiment would be something like: take the last two seasons of articles from one of the $9.95ers, use them to refine one of the existing models, and then feed it game stats and text transcripts of every Texas football related Youtube video. I wonder if it could spit out similar drivel without the overhead of the staff. Make it $8.95... profit.
