Congrats to Maalik. It’s got to be frustrating running for your life 70% of the snaps you take.
He's preparing to be a QB at UT 😭

Texas QB Commit Maalik Murphy Tells Longhorns Fans: "Be Patient, We're Coming"
Quote"I honestly don't think it was as bad as a lot of people made it seem," Murphy said. "Of course, you know, we went on a losing streak. (We) lost some key games, some games that we should have won.
"But looking at it from a player's perspective, it's really on us, you know. The coaches can only lead us so far. At the end of the day we still got to play."
QuoteMurphy did not mince his words when evaluating the Longhorns on-field product in 2021.
"I think at some point, some of the guys were just not hungry enough, or it seemed like they didn't want it bad enough," Murphy said. "And we flat out didn't finish some games that, you know, we were up at halftime. But then the third quarter or fourth quarter comes around and we just give the game away."

#77 looks to be 5'5" and 450lbs.
Good win for Serra. Still don't understand how Cali football works. Maybe this was the regional championship. I think it will help Maalik that he hasn't played on a super team. He has had to learn to throw under duress and his receivers not being open by 10 yards.

That's a bail out call. That's running into the kicker at worse. Was barely any contact.

Loved what he had to say in a 247 article about sticking with his local school and being loyal and believing he could win with the guys he had and not run to a super team. He plans to pick a college stay there and compete. His mind set is where it needs to be hoping he brings that attitude with him and it spreads through the locker room.

I'll take these decommits if we exchange them for Offensive linemen.

RoJo is a good example of why this team gets my support despite the win loss record.
Just great heart and effort to almost carry the damn team to a win.
That is worth celebrating.
This right here! Happy for the team. Felt good to see them get to celebrate one last time after a long season!

Amazing it took the whole season for them to bench BJ. KSU play calling want the best but our linebacker play was much better this game.

A touchdown there would of probably sealed it.

I fucking guess. Seems to be damned if we do damned if we don't as we can't block for more than 2.5 yards on these run plays.
True but we are burning clock and not turning it over and for now we have a shot at winning the game. This season sucks but I'm still hoping the seniors get a win on the way out 🤘

Must say that I like that Sark has taken the game out of Casey's hands finally. Relying on play action passes a the running game.

I hope we run that #7 up the gut play one more time 🤡

Wish Bijan didn't have to get hurt for us to utilize all our RBs.

Can't even be mad at Miller. I'd choose Alabama too at this point.
SpoilerFuck him anyway. 🤬. He'll wish he got on the train next year 😎

He will be an intriguing piece to add to the QB room and seems to be improving his footwork, but I see some people saying he has a chance to start next year and something would have to go really, really wrong for that to happen.
Well looking at what we have he does have a "chance". Hoping we get a transfer QB. I wouldn't want him starting though. Ideally going forward no QB will start until they at least been through a redshirt year. I would prefer RS Sophomore as the perfect timing to start.

Gardena (Calif.) Serra quarterback Maalik Murphy has his Cavaliers playing for a CIF Championship this weekend for the first time since 2012.
Serra is a proud program with a great winning tradition but the program hasn’t a had a lot of playoff success in recent years. In fact, their last playoff win was back in 2015 when quarterback Khalil Tate was running the show for the Cavs.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” Murphy told us earlier today at the CIF Championship luncheon. “I had never been in a playoff game until this year and now we’re playing in the finals.
“I was hurt my sophomore year and we didn’t even have playoffs last year so this year has been special. It’s a great opportunity for our team to bring a Championship back to Serra and a great way to end my senior year.”
Murphy has always had all the physical tools you could want is a next level quarterback and is now starting to put it together on the field. He has had a solid senior season, completing 161-243 passes (66%) for 2,341 yards and 17 touchdowns.
He has also rushed for 85 yards and six more scores and has improved his pocket mobility, ability to extend a play and looks more poised under duress. It hasn’t always been smooth or easy but capping off his career with a CIF Title would a great reward for Murphy, who through ups and downs, was always a great leader and a teammate.
On the recruiting front, Murphy committed to Texas back in February and said his pledge to the Horns remains rock solid.
“I’m 100% locked in,” Murphy said. “I know they have struggled recently but that doesn’t impact me at all. I look at the offense and they’re still putting up points. I see the issues and feel they just need to learn how to finish games and I’m excited to come in to the locker room and compete and help any way I can.
“I really think I have a chance to come in and battle for a job, whether that be as a starter or a back up. My mind set is to come and compete hard and do what I can to help change the culture there. I think the talent is there and I believe in the coaching staff. I’ve never wavered at all and I still believe everything is in place to make a run over the next few years.”
Murphy said he’s well aware Texas is recruiting other quarterbacks as well, namely Devin Brown, but isn’t concerned by it in the least.

“The coaches have been very transparent and communicated the need to bring in a second quarterback in this class,” Murphy said. “I was never blind sided or anything, the coaches always kept me in the loop. I understand the need, the quarterback room next year could be a little light.
“It doesn’t bother me at all. You have to go out and compete anywhere you go. I’m still set to sign in December and in January, I’ll be in Austin. It’s crazy how fast the year has gone but I’m excited and can’t wait.”
Seems like this board has cooled on Maalik but he has continued to improve week to week and all in on Texas. His attitude and positivity seem in infectious and guys gravitate to him in camps. Will be glad to have him on campus come January.

Which is crazy bc when you watch him you realize his arm / accuracy aren’t even good. The offensive scheme works.
Unfortunately, nothing else on this team does.
Yeah it's a crazy stat. He's left so many more touchdowns on the field too with his inaccuracy and bad ball placement. Even his touchdown passes barely make it to the receiver. We get an above average QB and we win a few more games this season.

PK needs to be made available to the media. He hides in the booth all game. Someone needs to find out what he is seeing that no one else is that's leading him to continue with his dumbster fire of a gameplan.

Everytime there is a flag I think they are finally going to call a hold on OU and it turns out to be a penalty on Baylor to keep the drive alive.
