Gerry/Justin mentioned that they're not sure if our staffs timeline matches up with Aeryn's commitment timeline....

AKA his red flags mean the staff want to keep him warm and see how things shake out with the roster. Analyze said roster and assess if said potential juice is worth the squeeze.

  2. So with Hampton, I know that he is a headcase that has immaturity issues and thats why we backed off. If there are other reasons, early riser who had others catch up, etc., let me know. But if that is the case, why does he continue to get recruited by Bama and Texas and seemingly have the option to commit. There seems to be some disconnect here that I don't understand. Is it just a week ATH class and the schools think they can get him on the right path once here? Thanks.

All those who are saying that they’ll boycott watching the PGA because of the Saudi investment also need to be prepared to quit using Uber, tell their kids they can’t watch Disney, stay off of Facebook, not fly on Boeing jets and move their banking from Citi and BAC

You know who is a bigger terrorist organization than the Saudi's and their PIF? The winners get to write history. Americans complaining about terrorism is slightly comical.

  4. Ok, thanks for the insights. I actually applied for two new cards. I have three currently but one of them I have had for like 15 years for my first card in college and I only keep it because it helps with the length of accounts deal in the credit. I use Chase Sapphire Reserve and Southwest currently. I applied for the AA Aviator Red and The AA Citi Mastercard Platinum select.

AA Aviator Red is spend $1500 in the first 3 months and get 60k

AA Advantage is spend $2000 in the first 3 months and get 50k.

I have flights to Europe and Chile coming up September and December and figured I could get one of them paid for by spending what I already spend. This this the correct way to go about things. Notice how I am asking after I applied. 😃

I cancelled a Barclays card and a citi Best Buy card recently, no or minimal impact. Replaced with the AA citi black card for club access. Thinking of cancelling a discover that I use for exactly one $24.95 recurring charge. And I have a basic BOA card I haven’t used in years, thinking about eliminating that one as well. So right now I’ve got 7 open cards:

BOA cash back card (hardly ever used)
    BOA random card (never used)
    Discover (aforementioned)
Bonvoy chase (for Marriott spend, lifetime platinum)
Amazon chase (hardly used, as I have the Amazon synchrony for 5% point rebate)
Southwest chase (hardly used as I’m 90% AA flyer)
AA executive world elite MC from citi (all daily purchases, for airline status.)

Just checked and I’m still 850.

I think I may deep six one BOA card and the discover.

Is it worth it to get an Amex for AA points?

From what I have read the reduction of credit cards only hurts you if you have debt because you are lowering youre available amount of debt and increasing your usage. I guess my question is, does have credit checks relatively constantly not hurt you? It is a metric but I am not an expert at this. I just assumed applying for 2-3 cards would hurt you in that aspect. Thank you for the insight.

One Mile at a Time has a full review https://onemileatatime.com/reviews/credit-cards/chase/chase-sapphire-preferred/

If you're able to use the chase portal to book your corporate paid travel you get 5x points per dollar spent.

Page down to the travel redemptions section. As always the value is in transferring to travel partners rather than spending the points on Chase's own portal, but with int'l travel so booked for summer there probably won't be many opportunities until later in the year, if then. If you can do spontaneous trips, esp int'l, you can often find better value with points within a week or even within a couple days of travel when airlines make available open seats for rewards. However some of the transfer partners are no longer as valuable as they once were so ymmv.

Some unique benefits are the primary collision coverage on auto rentals, and reimbursement for instacart and doordash membership,

Can you explain what the bolded means. I use chase saphire and I log into my chase bank account, then go the travel programs to book whatever flight works. DO you mean somehow convert the chase reward points into AA points before I use them?

Also, does it not hurt your credit to can a card? I have none rewards cards that I have like a chase personal and a southwest card and I thought if I cancelled them to get new cards then it would destroy my credit? Thank you!

  7. I live in DT. Don't have a car. Walk/Scooter everywhere. Amazon prime can deliver groceries if I am lazy. I never fuck with traffic. I can be e 7th, South Congress, Zilker, Barton, West Campus, anywhere in essentially 10 minutes on an uber. Sometimes walk 30 minutes.

I love it. However, the rent is not fun.
