Stumbling on WLW for $87 on the shelf is unbelievable. Like, I don’t believe it.

Some stores like playing where's waldo and put out allocated bottles randomly on the shelf throughout the year for regulars to find.

Amen Dunes' new record, "Freedom", is the tits. Also, new Sarah Shook and Moondoggies albums coming in the next month.

Seconded the Amen Dunes rec. Will see how if holds up after a few listens, but first time through was great.

  3. Max entering the cage as a +365 underdog.  I think he has a shot if he can avoid the take downs (or at least may Khabib work for them) and getting smashed in the face in the first couple of rounds and Khabib gasses a bit, and then KO him late.  Don't think he can win a decision unless Khabib gets tired in the third, or Max manages to pick him apart from the outside and stay on the move.

  4. Had an average old fashioned Friday with muddled cherries/oranges and Basil Hayden’s on Friday. My house recipe is to use a couple drops of maple syrup, 5-6 shakes of Angostora bitters and a couple of fingers of Larceny. Swirl to combine and drop in a large spherical ice cube...quick and tasty
Fan of the maple syrup for a quick old fashioned. Mainly because I don't drink enough of them to keep simple syrup in my bar, but also cause i like the taste.
  5. Picked up a couple of crowlers of Nomura, the double ipa version of Electric Jellyfish. Saving them for lunch tomorrow.

Got a couple crowlers yesterday as well. Just opened one. It will be a good afternoon.
  6. Enjoying a beer brought back by mdmost that he picked up for me in the Portland airport. Wish more airports had local beers you could buy ((inside security)) that you can carry on the plane and bring home with you. The only two I know of/have been to are in SFO (the Napa Market store has OK but not great beers but a decent enough amount of them) and Stone brewpub in the San Diego airport has a cooler with beers to go though, given that it’s Stone and their beers are everywhere, it is nothing all that exotic/something you probably could get back home.

You can get crowlers of pecan porter at the salt lick in ABIA. Also read something about a shop in Nashville airport, but never fly through there.
  7. The delivery of the host takes a little getting used to but the content is great.
Its David Allan Coe's son Tyler.

Favorite part of a lot of the episodes is often the “liner notes” section. Agreed, his delivery is very stilted, especially near the beginning of episodes seems to get better further into the recordings.
  8. My preferred method for cooking hard boiled eggs: put them in an electric kettle and cover with 2” of water and switch kettle on. After kettle switches it self off, wait 13-15 minutes and the take out the eggs and put them in an ice bath. Perfect every time.
