  1. Hate and I live in the same neighborhood in The Woodlands. Don’t worry. I’ve got this. Got the generator out yesterday. Haven’t fired it up in too long. Carburetor all junked up. Ordered a new one that will be here today. I’ll get it running tonight. All the work to make sure the generator is working will make sure it stays east of us and we don’t need it. You’re welcome in advance. 🤣

Y’all lost all your best players and were 69th on defense per FEI last year. You should really slow down on even the faintest hope of being top 10. Shooting for top 40 would be a dream come true for y’all.

Don’t disagree at all Burt. Hell if we crack the Top 50 this year I’d consider that a rousing success.

My typical pace is about 4 segs/week, but I'm off that pace right now due to idiotic internal meetings and more direct flights, so I've only got like 20 right now. We're going into travel freeze though, even for sales, so the trip monday had  to get executive leadership approval. I'm likely grounded for the forseeable future.

That’s the perfect scenario I mentioned in a post above about this affecting people’s status for next year. Would love to see some analysis at the end of the year regarding how may people have hotel/airline status downgrades this year versus a normal year.

This is the 66th day of the year. You’re on flight #33? Either you’re playing into stereotype and can’t count, or you have been doing some crazy fucking hustling. Of course on the former and respect on the latter. Damn.

Lol, no stereotyping and despite being a Sooner I can count. Don’t even have to take my shoes off to get past 10. 🤣 Lifetime Diamond with Hilton and 1k with United. This is going to screw up a lot of people’s status for next year though. We haven’t talked about locking down travel yet. Wouldn’t surprise me to see it coming though. I’ve already qualified for United Gold next year but would definitely drop from 1k if travel gets curtailed.

I haven’t seen a change yet either. I’m out and back to NYC through JFK early next week, though, and the ticket was CHEAP.

I’m on my 33rd flight of the year tonight, this one from ORD home to IAH. So yep, I probably already have it. Thots and players and all that good shit. Was on the same flight Tuesday night. On the one Tuesday night there were 16 of us in business class and 35 in the rest of the plane. Total of 51 on a bird that holds a couple of hundred. Tonight’s flight is a bit more full. Business class will be full again. But right now there are only 5 people in economy plus in 39 total EP seats. Back of the bus is decently full though. So yep, I’m definitely seeing less people on the birds I’m on. Headed to Tampa next week. We’ll see what those flights look like with spring break looming. But got to enjoy great Italian Beef sandwiches with my bourbon this week so I’ve got that going for me.

Realistic Sooner? Is that an oxymoron? How many horns down did you throw during the championship game against Baylor?

There are a few of us. TxSooner518, Constant, ChiTownDoc. Few and far between though. Don’t feel the need for horns down. I can hate Texas without that juvenile BS.

  7. As pleased as I am to make the playoffs again, I’m also one of the realistic Sooners. I’ve watched a lot of Tigers games this season. Yep, our defense is better. Hell it couldn’t be worse so that’s a low bar to cross. But the Tigers and Burrow have one of if not the best offenses in college ball this year. Burrow is going to win the Heisman, rightfully so. I have a hard time coming up with a scenario where we stay within 2 scores. But as they say, that’s why they play the game.

SIAP, but did we ever come to a consensus as to the best radar website that doesn't take a subscription?  I'll hang up and listen.

Just got word from my cousin that my aunt and uncle flooded. . .they did not flood during Harvey.

And everyone that did flood during Harvey that I know of flooded again.

Bear, I use the NOAA weather app on my iPhone. I assume they have one for those with Android as well. It’s a paid app to get the full features. Think I paid $3 or $4 for it. I travel for work about 35 weeks a year and it is fantastic. Has been on top of every bad storm I’ve been through.

Hire it out.  $30 per mow and it's worth every penny.

And the water has risen about 3 feet since I posted that picture. The rainfall rates are very Harveyesque this morning. It’s still nothing like the unfortunate people near Beaumont, but there will be some houses flooded in The Woodlands and Spring today.

I take it you’re working from home today too Hate? I live a couple of blocks from Hate, same subdivision. Fun times here but nothing like east of here. As he’s said, we’ve gotten lucky to be just on the periphery of this whole event. If this thing had come up a few miles west of where it actually did it would have sucked. As it is, the eye, or what passes for an eye with this storm, went directly over the top of our subdivision. Everyone stay safe out there.

  10. I’m seeing OU -6.5 at various sites too. Hell, if I had to bet it today, I’d probably take Texas. Lots of variables and unknowns for both teams though. Let’s see what both teams look like come October.

  11. Went down to the rodeo to see George last night. Could see the smoke from this thing right after we hit the Hardy coming off 99 coming down from The Woodlands. Got more impressive the closer we got. Figured it had to be a damn inferno. Wasn’t wrong.

  12. Same exact thing happened to me in 2012. Was 42 at the time. Ended up NOT being a TIA. Was an AVM. Actually ended up being 3 separate AVMs. 3 brain surgeries later I am perfectly fine. Have them check for this. I’m in Houston and went to the UT Mischer Institute in the Medical Center. Best neurosurgeon in the state. Dr P Roc Chen. Saved my life. PM me if you want to talk and get more details. Get this shit taken care of.

  13. ^^^^ This

Was just about to post this. Lehman and several other former Sooners are blasting this having to apologize bullshit on Twitter. We want no part of this. Fuck Bowlsby and the Big 12 for making Hager apologize. Fuck that participation trophy attitude. Hager doesn’t have a damn thing to apologize for. I’m all for every UT player, coach and fan saying OU Sucks every time they get a chance. It’s a fucking rivalry. We hate each other. Quit pussifying every damn thing about this sport and this and every rivalry.

    Welp.

I’m far less concerned than I was a week ago.  We’ll beat our remaining non-conference patsies, and should wax the bottom half of the league.

ISU played a helluva a game Al.  They play like that the rest of the season and they'll have a really strong year.

Hakeem Butler is a damn man

This!  Damn he is one hell of a WR.  Making himself some NFL money down the road today.  Beast mode Al.  He's going to give lots of teams fits.
