He lives in my building.  HumbleBrag and all that...

Anyways, I can leave a nice thank you note if Surly can find the proper words.

Surly would rather do a flyover banner of some sort. C’mon Doc, you know that

Every revolution needs a head to cut off. I wonder if the Big Cigars throw him under the bus.

Griffin and Citadel are probably the biggest of big cigars on WS. Citadel is entrenched in all facets of making the market. I’m pretty sure most of the daily volume is ran through one of Citadel’s subsidiaries.

So, just out of curiosity, assuming you were one of the guys who got fucked (or are very close to some, since you seem to know more details than most), why did you (or they) think it was investable to begin with?

I saw major flaws in that guy as a business manager from 100 miles away.  I mean, apparently he was a pretty good cook, but restaurant investment 1-0-1 is it takes a hell of a lot more than that to run a successful restaurant.  Honestly, when I read on here that he shuttered, my very first thought was, "there's a shocker" followed by, "damn, he must have been even worse than I thought...I thought he'd at least make it a year."

I understand if you don't want to talk about it publicly, and I'm really not trying to dog pile.  I'm just genuinely curious from an investment/business standpoint.  I figure enough time has gone by?

I’ve been in the restaurant business for over 20 years and have had the unpleasant experience of closing bad locations/concepts. If you’re in the business long enough it’s bound to happen. I can say we’ve never shuttered one because our walk-in went down overnight. If I remember that was the reason Champ decided to close his after less than a year of operation.  When I read that I knew there had to be some real problems behind the scenes.

I'm personally struggling to be at the excitement level towards Sark right now that I was before last night.

It feels like I had a banging, stacked, badass chick I just started going out with and then I found out she was texting one of her exes last night and now I have to walk around with her at my Aunt's bday party or something and knowing she's a sneaking little skank whore in my head but faking I'm still just as stoked about her as I was because that's what all my family thinks.

Cool story brah! How many times did you edit before hitting send?

As an outsider who came here for the Trump board and has no college football affiliation (outside of an Ivy league school which I couldn't care less about it's football program) that was one of the biggest things I noticed and mentioned before. Maybe if there was only 1 or 2 of these parasitic leeches then it wouldn't be so bad but there's like 5 or 6 just on this one program. All competing for a limited pool of fan dollars so they will definitely harass players and coaches and at times make things up or guess. In the smart phone social media age that's massively damaging to a coaching staff's ability to control the program and build positive consistency.

It happened here just like I said where one such place puts it out then several others run with it without any direct knowledge and it becomes a storm of shit requiring the head coach to have to put a stop to it. The same thing happened in the Urban Meyer fiasco when that negotiation should never have been made public in the first place.

Having that many of those sites is a massive problem for your program.

So why the fuck are you still here? Trump is gone and you say you don't give a shit about Longhorn football. Whats the point you wanker?

I’m from two of those areas and have family in Southlake. You made the comment they’re all the same and several people who know otherwise, because we live there, then chimed in. We are not arguing anything.

    We are not a monolith.

    Yep ^^^^

I live in the town next too Southlake and the biggest difference between HP and Southlake is the multi generational wealth HP has and one is urban and the other is truly suburban. Another comparison is look at the two main shopping hubs and the stores/brands. Highland Park Village vs Southlake Town Center is not even in the same world.

Just referring to really successful type teams. Duncanville,  Cedar Hill, DeSoto etc are probably better examples of larger single school ISDs that have that advantage. North Shore is not a single school but might as well be.

I would add Aledo and Argyle to the list of dominant surban single school programs.

Hate to hash up a sore subject but I'm curious because the Sark hirer and everything since feels SO MUCH different than the Strong and Herman hirers. For me the two biggest things that come to mind are the almost absolute lack of leaks and how aligned everyone seems to be, no rumblings of any donor factions or UT Admins being pissed (thank you Tom Herman, this may be your redeeming legacy). It's been posted that Urban was in group chats with boosters and UT Admins. UT Admins met with Urban on multiple occasions. It's been intimated that Urban gave critique of what was wrong with UT football and gave ideas on what was needed for a successful program.

I'm curious if CTJ, Caddox or anyone who knows boosters/admins have heard anything on what Urban told UT boosters and officials because it appears that UT learned a great deal on how to conduct business or what the people with money and decision makers learned from the Strong and Herman failures. Sark's coaching staff may be another big lesson? Maybe Urban said don't fucking cheap out on assistant coaches or let coaches bring in shitty asst coaches and buy the best staff or maybe the donors were tired of coming up with buyout money and decided to pre-empt that shit buy throwing tons of money upfront instead of at the end of another failed regime.

I'm fully expecting this thread to turn to shit as dipshits can't help themselves to talk about shit like fajitas. Hopefully we'll get some nuggets from the bullshit.

    1. Lol at the bolded.

    2. All Urban wanted to do is fuck with Herman

    3. Thats all.
