Best round was at Bluebonnet earlier this year. Got out of the car and went straight to the tee. On 1 I took a divot with my driver, topped the second from the fairway, then pitched in for eagle from 50 yards. -2 after 1 and +2 after 3. That trend continued until my hole in one on 17.
I'm ready for the tour.

wut.

I've said it for years- if DJ could figure out how to become a good, consistent, putter, he would win everything.

Iron update:
Got the t7 PW- matched my gap and sand wedges and got a little bit better spin number.
Got the mp-18 SC 5-7 to go above the MB 8 & 9
went with the MMC 4 iron. Launched just a wee bit higher for me.
Second pic attempts to show the progression of offset, head length, and top line between the 4 different models. Pretty damn seamless. Well done, Mizuno.

so really you're saying you hate them because they are good at golf

As a Denius Normandy scholar I got a chance to meet the man in France and talk to him about his service. Incredible. A better person than I will ever be.

not enough quincy jones

I would argue he hasnt been right since The Masters 2016. He struggled and wasn't bright enough to play it safe. #12 was the last straw. Yes he won the Open last year, but his poor tournaments in that time span have outweighed his good ones

Just documenting that Sandy Lyle was T-3 at some point in a 2018 major.

I talked to one of the techs before the show- he said they had 25 guitars between Jeff and Billy. James had his own on the other side of the stage. BC played a few of his signature Reverends for the early pumpkins material, his blue '74 strat and a black 70's strat for a lot of the siamese dream and mellon collie gear, an ES-335 for Tonight Tonight, and a Firebird for The Everlasting Gaze.

A few photos. Being that close was almost a bad thing. All 3 guitars and bass are either being run into an iso cab or through a speaker emulator- there is zero amplified sound coming from the stage so I could hear the dry vocals and clanks of their pics hitting the strings.

Chamberlin is my favorite drummer of all time. I was there as well in the front row and I highly recommend anyone see this tour if you can. BC was in an incredible mood and I think truly appreciated playing for everyone in attendance. If you're a fan of the band at all I think this show is a continuation of the Machina story he attempted to tell in 2000 but was cut off by the record label.
I would say FEC was about 70% full not counting the 6 sections they had tarped off upstairs. There was a LOT more singing from the audience than I expected.

I dont think they look good in person at all. Feel is dead, and they sound like tin cans

The thing about pro golfers that is so remarkable is the ability to do this each and every time, not one out of ten like me.
brag about it why dont you

I thought the 500 sounded like garbage

My favorite major. Play what the world gives you.

For comparison's sake here is an 8 iron in each the 2018 x forged vs the mp 18

I'm a fitter and order them myself from Mizuno

Im giving the 8 and 9 a whirl- got the t7 PW to match the rest of the wedges in my bag. 5, 6, 7 mp-18 SC's are coming next. These heads are definitely small
-
It has begun...I made a fatal mistake. I hit the mp18's. I've only had my x forged for about 7 months but they might not make it to next month...

I've got a Simpson's CH2 silvertip. Best brushes on the planet, but absolutely not necessary.

lighthouse country club is in finominle shape. best course in the hill country. greens are amazing. fairways are flawless. you can golf now the fucking place for about 28$. and get a free beer.
Can concur. I think my foursome was the only group on the course today. Fantastic greens and fairways despite the rain last night.
That said I really am worried about the courses future. I know it's been around for ages though various owners but damn they must be leaking money. Didn't have range balls to give out today because they didn't have anyone to pick them up, didn't have ice for the cooler so the beers we bought were hot by #6, and as of yesterday all of the tee times were taken off of golfnow for at least the next week.

Plush and green is nice but I like a course that allows you to be creative. If a course allows ten people to approach the same shot ten different ways with similar success then I'm a fan
