1. As I said upthread, i was lucky enough to get GE in about 10 days total, but given all the info in this thread, that would have to be the exception, not the rule.  You could give the normal process a try, and as long as you have a cc that will cover the cost, really no harm done.
But I think your best bet is to use the Mobile Passport Control app.  I've used it several times at many US airports, but not DFW.  The line for mobile has almost always been shorter than the GE line, and in the couple cases where it was not shorter, it was comparable.
I really only got GE because I wanted TSAPre and my cc covered the cost.  I think, at least for the time being, the mobile app is plenty good enough

Thanks all. Sounds like MPC is the way to go.
2. My wife (no pics) had an opportunity pop up to go to the UK in June. She has pre-check, not global entry. Is there any path to getting GE prior to her trip? In not, now much hassle is she in for coming back through DFW?

3. How did they do?

Work looks good. Half soles, heels, leather conditioning /restore and a good shine $119.99. Went to the Burnet Rd. shop. Haven’t worn since picking up Thursday, YMMV.
4. Come on guys. Sell. Me. A cobler.

Wait a week. I took my ostrich to Austin Shoe Hospital. should have back next week, will tell you how they did.

5. Not an architect, but in this industry. Unless the dimensions were provided by the owner or the contract stipulated reliance on field data by others you’ve at least got a leg to stand on. Someone mentioned field verification, which would have then produced an RFI for clarification.

If I’m the contractor I am expecting a CO for the field change. If I’m the owner I want the architect to pay for that. YMMV.

6. Godzillatron How cold does it get where you are? Something like an Indian Hawthorn would be in spec, but it's not going to make a super hard freeze. Salvia greggii will get knocked to the ground but come back. Neat and tidy vs more open and native looking.

I’m in the hills west of Austin. Used to think anything that would survive a light overnight freeze would be fine, but the last 2 years have cost me a lot of plants on that northern side. Needs to be able to survive a hard freeze, or at least be root hardy.
7. Looking for plant help. I’ve got a bed off the back patio (north side) of a 2-story house. Lots of summer sun, full shade all winter. I’d like something native that can handle the summer sun, winter shade, and survive a freeze. Shrub- sized and flowering if possible. Any recommendations appreciated!

8. Utah's whole identity is the P12 and that they have been a "peer" of Stanford, Cal, UCLA, UW, etc. When they got into the P12 you saw P12 stickers on cars all over the place. Driving from Utah County (where Provo is located) north to the neighboring Salt Lake County with Salt Lake City in it, there was a billboard placed just inside the county line stating "Welcome to P12 country".
This is a very confusing and scary time for Utah, so be patient with them as they process the stages of grief.

So Utah is the aggy of the Pac12? Got it.

9. Firing him won't change the fact that they are going to do nothing to revert back to better pruning policies.  This is complete reactionary bullshit and will do absolutely jack fucking shit to mitigate the next time this happens.  Cronk should go, but not over this.
What was so unique to Austin that we're the only large city in Texas hit by this storm having these issues that'll take two weeks to resolve?  Hmmmmm, are we the only MSA with fucking trees?

Sargent should go over this current crisis. Cronk should go because I cannot same a single sector of city government is functioning at a competent level in Austin.

I’m a big Lucchese fan, but their square toes are either too narrow or too wide for my taste.
11. Dude, we hate CoA government probably more than anyone but your blaming AE for trees falling all over the fucking city and taking out power lines is delusional.

AE has statutory power to clear vegetation that could impact their lines. I’m fucking lucky they exercised this power in my neighborhood last month and came in and stripped vegetation on the ROW that was impacting the power lines. We didn’t lose power, and every house in my subdivision has significant tree damage. But nothing hit a power line. If AE was doing their job this would be happening proactively across their service area.
