Dang, hook1997, it's a little dusty in here to be reading something like that.

Just dropping in to say I was wrong. Never in a million years did I see 11 - 1 coming.
-
That is just awful.

That was an absolutely masterful coaching job tonight. Sark and the players were lettin' 'em hang.

I've been burned too many times by drinking the Kool-Aid. Not fallin' for it this time. I voted 9 wins. I think we lose to Alabama, get screwed by calls in another one, and find a way to lose one we shouldn't.
I'll be happy to be wrong.

Seeing reports Fitzgerald has been fired.

I had no idea Ibraheem was still associated with the program.

A little perspective here. Was Quinn perfect? No. But - if you expected him to be, you haven't been watching much football this year. When it became clear we could not run, we had to put the offense on him. He went 31/47 for 369. He threw the ball away when he had to. He did not turn the ball over. Worthy had three straight-out drops. 1) the one down the middle in the 4th quarter 2) the little slant that hit him right in the chest, and 3) the long one down the left boundary. There was also one occasion where he absolutely failed to track a potentially catchable ball. Whittington had a drop on 3rd down. Add in those 4 "should have beens" (yeah, I know...), and you get a stat line of 35/47 for approaching-Texas-bowl-game-record yardage. Had you been told at the start of the year that your freshman QB would, in his bowl game, go 35/47 for over 400 yards, would you have said:
1) That guy sucks.
or 2) That's a pretty good effort.
I still think Ewers is going to be good, maybe not great, but certainly good enough. Putting a loss like this on him is just silly.

Under no circumstances would I throw another ball to Worthy. Maybe ever.

My uncle (RIP) played bass for a young SRV back during this time. He also played with Will and Charlie Sexton as well and was a regular at the Continental Club on S. Congress. His name was Alex Napier, maybe you do or do not recall him. He could not read a lick of music. Just listened and played. He is mentioned in SRV's autobiography as "a hippie from South Oak Cliff" in his book. My mother has a mood ring SRV gave to Alex that he wore until he passed. I keep asking for it, and I keep getting denied.
EDIT: Not to be confused with the current band Alex Napier and Daybreak.
I saw your uncle play MANY times at the Continental and other places. He was a fine bass player - always enjoyed his music.

Card has earned my respect by going out and competing to the best of his ability when he was called upon, even when injured. That's enough for me. Sometimes things don't work out, but I wish him nothing but the best as he moves on.

I should have seen this one coming.
I've had a persistent cough for the last couple of weeks, and have been prone to coughing fits that go on for several seconds. Here I am today, standing in the bathroom taking a leak, when a coughing fit hits.
You know the rest.

I keep thinking this game may be very important to Sarkisian's tenure on the 40. Has any Horns head coach lost to Kansas twice in football? Certainly not in back-to-back years, I wouldn't think. Since Kansas is fairly new to the schedule, let's equate them with Rice and ask the same question: has any coach lost in back-to-back years to bottom feeders?

KSU, 31-20.
KSU total plays: 63
KSU long: 31

They just ran out of time. Again.

OSU 31, UT 27
24 - 286

I'm thinking 3-2. Should probably be 4-1, but I think we'll find a way to lose a game we should probably win.

My God, these announcers are an absolute beating.

Have you seen their dogshit schedule? The only good team they play the rest of the way is Ole Miss. I'll count that one as an L. They SHOULD win all the others, unless they find a way to aggy it up against LSU. So, worst case, they go 7-5. Best case, 8-4. Pretty mediocre.

Have you been informed of how that was your fault yet?
Not yet. I'm confident she's saving it for when she needs it.

No, it won't. They'll never shut up, and it will never end.
