Did you listen to the entire interview?

Not every single minute.  Did you?

She was prolly hating a bit but I cant find anything  saying she called her a "ball hog".   She did say she shot "40 times a gm" which was hyperbole.  She is definitely shooting a lot at 22 times a gm.   To contrast, only one player in the W shot more than 20 times a game (Jewell Loyd 20.3) last yr.   No one else shot more 19 times a gm.

Its wack when old heads hate but its not new nor is Caitlyn unique is receiving it.

Caitlin Clark has quite a few haters including Sheryl swoopes:

Swoopes was uniformed on the record talk.   I wouldnt consider her take on Caitlin not coming in and dominating is hating though.  She said Cait would be a superstar but there are very few players that have come in as a rookie and dominated the W.   Candace Parker is about the only one I can think of.

Kelsey Plum who's record Clark is about to break didnt come into the league and dominate.   She took quite a few yrs to become a real star player and she still is not the best player on her team.  Not even the 2nd best actually.

Well, that's as clear as mud. What is Dallas giving up for that first round pick that gets routed via OKC to Washington? Or does OKC just have so many picks that they are giving them out to other teams as charity?

    Here ya go.....

LOL, I'm a little confused by it too but I dont think OKC is actually involved in the trade.   Its a pick that OKC traded at one point........I think

replacing jrue holiday with pat bev; bold move cotton.

Top that off with the fact that Dame and Pat Bev dont vibe.   More importantly, I've always disliked Cam Payne but giving him to a team that you more than likely have to face in the playoffs for a vastly over-rated Pat Bev is a dumb move

Solid moves for Dallas. I'm assuming they are just giving up second round picks for Gafford? He's a young guy on a reasonable contract. I'm not sure what motivation the Wiz have to dump him, but then again I can't understand what that front office is doing half the time, anyway.  I would like to see what protections they have on the first round pick to Charlotte. Signing Grant Williams this offseason cost them an unprotected first round swap to the Spurs way down the road, so that's basically two FRP for Washington, who is also on a reasonable deal for two more years.

While I still don't like the Kyrie move and the Brunson screwup would make me physically ill if I were a Mavs fan, Dallas has done some really solid roster building over the last year without having much cap or picks to work with.

It's a little strange, but Hield has fallen out of their rotation and he's an UFA this summer. The Pacers get 3 SRP out of it and take no cap hit, which is more than they were going to get when he walked in a few months anyway. Or they might just be doing him and his agent a solid. Front offices work in strange ways, these days.

Yeah, I know he hasnt been happy there for a while.   Seems like they could have got a 1st somewhere else and not have to play against him in a couple months.   Who knows.

He was my favorite player when I was a little kid. He did get fucking jobbed, but the NBA's sole mission at that point was to  suck MJ's dick. Couple that with the contest being in Chicago, and its not a surprise.

If they have to go to the G league to get a guy for the dunk contest these days, just put that fucking thing out of its misery.

I'd kinda forgot that MJ missed the 1st attempt on that last FT dunk.   Couple that with the fact that he had already done the dunk earlier there is no way in hell it should have been a 50

Apparently Miles exercised a no trade clause in his contract. Why, I have no idea, but he's gone off (on the court, this time) the last couple of days.

Can somebody please explain this trade to me. I get that Olynyk is going to be a free agent this summer and probably isn't in Utah's long term plans, but why is Toronto doing this? They can't decide if they're tanking, not tanking, accumulating picks, dumping picks, dumping salary, accumulating salary, whatever. And why is Utah baling on Agbaji for a late round pick in this crappy draft?

Miles would veto any trade because the receiving team would not get his Bird rights.  So unless he went to a team that will have a lot of cap space in the summer his options become limited.   He could only get a big payday from a team with cap space to sign him outright.    He would more than likely only be with whatever team that traded for him for the rest of the season.

Staying CHA can sign anything all the way up to a max or do a S&T to a team over the cap.  The whole league is in play by staying.

Happy trading deadline day. Doesn't look like anything major is going down today but it's always fun when rumors start flying at the wire.

It's a weird time -- most of the contenders (sans OKC and NOLA) are out of assets to deal. There are fewer sellers because more teams are still trying to compete to get to the play in game. There's funky shit going on with the second apron on the new cap. And finally, the 2024 draft looks like dogshit.

That said, here's the first one of the day:

No idea why IND would do this basically getting nothing for trading Hield to a team they might face in the playoffs.

The league has a problem with the 65 game rule. It has a problem with contracts being tied to post-season awards. It obviously has a problem with load management. I don't know how any of this gets fixed.

Tyrese Halliburton is going to lose out on $40 million if he misses three more games this season and is ineligible to be all-NBA. What's worse, somebody else is probably going to be eligible for max money who did play 65 games and didn't deserve it. Some of the NBA writers who vote for the post season awards are even giving pushback because they feel weird about the impact of their votes.

All of this is a mess.

Meh, playing 80% of the season to be eligible for awards isnt a major ask IMO.  There are always gonna be some issues with any rule.  Feel bad for Halliburton as he is legit injured but guys like Embiid, nah.   His bitch ass misses way too many games to have any gripe about it.

I don't understand why people think that Caitlin Clark is some crazy phenomenon that's alien to women's sports. There is a fairly large number of WNBA players better than her.

I guess it helps her case that women's college ball is a lot more popular.

YEP!!   It will be really interesting to see how well she plays in the W.   She's very good but she isnt better than the truly high level players currently in the league.   Also, I dont know that she would have the complete free rein that she does in college so it will also be interesting to see how she handles coaching that doesnt cater to her.

I will say there is a new wave of girls coming that are fucking ballers.  Juju Watkins at USC is the main name to know.  She's been putting up historic numbers already as a freshman

Good for Steph, too.  He's always been good about promoting the women's game.

Can't wait for all the Joe Rogan bros to weigh in on this.

Yep, the he-man women haters clubs are going lose their shit
