Yeah, I got home from college and my brother forgot I was coming home. He was asleep in his room. I got in at about 11:00, watched TV for a little bit and then went to sleep in my room. I use to sleep with the covers over my head. My brother heard my bedroom door open and close, snuck out of the house and then called the police and told them there was an intruder in the house. They even asked him if anyone was expected to be home. Anyway, you can guess the rest. The cops broke into my room, pulled the covers down with their guns drawn, and yelled freeze. Thank god I am a deep sleeper "and that I'm white".

Exactly how much fraternal ass did you kick?

RIP.  I don't know much about the man, other than he seemed to dedicate his life to serving the public, which is rare.   Plus he used correct punctuation, even though given his name he didn't have to.  Godspeed Mr. E. Cummings.

    Outstanding.

D-Roberts may finally be catching on the real question will become does he start bullpenning once Ferris Buehler gets to the 3rd time through the lineup. That has always been his kryptonite.

first place I ever stayed in Vegas circa summer 1992.  It was the Ramada San Remo back then, and it was about as low rent, $hithole a place as I had ever stayed in my then 21 years of life.  I think only a spring break trip to stay at the Days Inn in Destin Florida may have been worse.  Pretty sure when hooters took over they did noting more than put up some orange paint.  surprised hooters last as long as it did.  Speaking of which, how the heck do Ecalibur, Tropicana, Luxor and even Bally's stay open.  Those places are all absolute dogs.

San Remo in 1989. God it was abysmal. Tried not to be there at all.

Damsel is distress is tiring. I would prefer him to go nuts after they fuck up his order at the drive through. Or maybe his tires are out of stock and he gets sold a piece of shit tire that explodes and then after getting jerked around by lawyers he mass murders everyone in Detroit and Canada. Only to retire to the North Pole to sex some polar bears and make little half-bear rambos. He finally is at peace then sea levels rise and his polar bear kin die, so he returns to North America to wreck shop on OKC, Midland, and Houston. Then he boards a Saturn V rocket and goes to the moon.

Dear sir, I am a Hollywood producer and am interested in your script.

It's also worth noting that many of these fires are man made. This is a pretty well-sourced comment that I'm shamelessly stealing and reposting here, but basically the Brazilian government promoted a "fire day" to clear land and show support for relaxing environmental regulations.

I really recommend checking out the first article in the post and translating from portugese in your browser to read. Some of the more interesting datapoints are that a significant number of fires are originating from highways, according to satellite imagery. Real fucked up situation, burning your country down is a really dumb political statement.

I haven't been to a Holiday Inn Express in years, but this seems like a really dumb strategy.

  7. Yep, agree with staying on North shore. And the road is open but they're trying to limit traffic so you need reservations now.

Edit: to clarify, reservations are if you want to go to or park at the State Park/Ke'e Beach.

  8. Have been to both the Westin and the Kauai Marriott. Both are great. Going to the island again on September 28. Haven't been in the Sheraton but in my experience the Sheratons are cheaper for a good reason. Where to stay is dependent upon what you plan to do. I prefer the Princeville area because of the Hanalei area so generally stay there. The area north of Hanalei was washed out by the floods last time I was there, though. The Marriott in Lihue has a nice beach if you're into that and is closer to Poipu and the rest of the island.
