Frog aggy just took out Zverev. I know he’s aggy because Fowler has mentioned it about a million times.

I had no idea he was aggy.  I was surprised sasha couldn't figure out his serve in the ad court. His toss was a huge tell.

  2. We just had one of the dryest Junes this century but strangely enough we didn't have any days over 100.  In fact we haven't hit 100 since May.  That's unexpected.

I do also drive by the Pflugerville ice facility weekly and flip them the bird while calling them all fucking losers.

Since I started this thread I’ll just remind everyone that if you don’t pay your deductible on an insurance claim in Texas you are committing insurance fraud in Texas. The legal and correct way to engage a roofer is to get as much high quality roofing as you can for the price the insurance company gives you for the claim.

Did you get your roof figured out?

it was well understood by all sides that Japan had lost the war long, long before Hiroshima.

You're not understanding what the Japanese mindset was.

Through a non-Japanese lens if you see you've lost you cut your losses and surrender.  Through the Japanese lens if you've lost the fight you don't surrender, you keep fighting until you die. What's more they don't even define winning and losing the same way everyone else does - they might lose the fight but if they die honorably it's a victory.  It's the bushido way.

They were never going to let the Emperor, a living god, be toppled.  The Emperor was never going to surrender because he saw they had lost the fight.  He, and the Japanese people, needed something extraordinary to change their minds about 1.) what losing IS and 2.) what reaction they should have to it.

Yes, but the heaviest volume tends to occur right before close. There could definitely be an element of market manipulation here.

Heaviest volume occurs not at the Futures close (5p central) but at the traditional NYSE market close which is two hours earlier at 3pm central.  All volume across the board dies after that even though trading still occurs.

That's looking for something that isn't there.  The stock market, including SPY and every other ETF, is still open for after-hours trading til 8pm central. Starting from Sunday afternoon at 5pm to Friday night at 8pm you can trade either futures or ETFs.

I'm aware of all that information. The variance in the same language in different areas or countries are called regional dialects. I said the dialects were different, not the language. So basically you just reinforced my point on language all while ignoring all the various recent cultural and mindset divides between Taiwan and China. If you are indeed Taiwanese, I'm rather shocked you don't agree with your fellow countrymen's position. However, you're certainly entitled to your opinion.

1.) I have family members who are, but I'm not Taiwanese.

2.) I'm not ignoring anything, you're layering your own context onto what I've said. You said there's a vast cultural divide.  I said it's not as big as it used to be.  It's not.  China has spent a lot of money on soft power influence in Taiwan the past 2 decades emphasizing their shared cultural history in order to drive a wedge between them and the west.  Go online and read their forums, look at their tik tok videos or instas - the sense of ethnic pride in their history is prevalent.
