Been wanting this forever: vintage 1994 USMNT “denim” jersey. My wife kicks ass.

I have coveted this forever, and the wife finally got me my favorite jersey of all time for Christmas!

Also, no cholas coming over that I know of—but it is a burly table!

Alright, finally finished it in time for Christmas dinner tonight. Overall really happy with it. 4 coats of poly—hopefully will be enough protection. Now onto the next project! Whatever that is ...

Sorry been off a few days. Thanks for the advice! Went ahead and took it—applied pre-stain prior to staining, definitely glad I did. Looked really blotchy on the test wood without the prestain.
Not done yet—hoping to be done before next weekend when family comes in for Christmas. I’ll go ahead and post a few pics of the progress so far. Be gentle—it’s my first time!- 9

Question: currently making a table, and it’s my first major project. About to be done sanding and getting ready to stain.
A lot of people have given me differing advice: do I need to apply pre-stain before staining? I heard it can help softwood stain look more even, but some others have told me it’s not necessary. What say you? Top of table is Douglas fir, base is yellow pine. -
The story of the kid with leukemia in Krakow ... my God, it's dusty

Much appreciated all...relatively new to getting into podcasts...and jumped in with the new Google Podcasts app. It made it just easy enough to get into it more.
For any Men in Blazers fans, Roger Bennett's American Fiasco about the 1998 World Cup and the US team flame out is good stuff.
Caliphate by the NY Times is damn interesting as well.
Been meaning to listen to Caliphate and just finished it yesterday. Wow.
Loved how it changed directions mid-series, but then came back to wrap up with the main interviewee. Don't want to spoil anything, but the interview in the last episode sort of unnerved me. Very well-done podcast, and Rukmini Callimachi is a badass.

Looks like it's all but officially announced. So, there's that.

Discovery ad showing guy practicing giving the Discovery reps a stern talking to. My god. It makes me embarrassed to be human.

There is zero evidence he was killed with a hot poker. Most analyst say he either died of natural causes or was possible strangledYeah, I know. But people still continue the rumor when you visit Berkeley Castle, and if nothing else it's memorable. Was still a pretty shitty king.

Outlaw king wasn't terrible. Some decent battles scenes, but there were two distracting issues
1: they completely changed edward II into a sadistic but capable fighter/leader. in reality he was a weak ruler who allowed his wife to overthrow and kill him (by sticking a hot poker up his ass). braveheart was actually more accurate in the portrayal of him.
2:
Spoilercompletely idiotic ending with Robert allowing edward II to just walk off the final battlefield. why in the world wouldn't you take him prisoner and use him to win scotland's freedom and get your family back? weird plothole. just seemed sloppy.

Biden/Beto
if democrats were smart, they'd go with this. would easily allow them to capture swing states and would set themselves up for a solid dem for the subsequent election.
but they're not, so it'll probably be harris/warren, sanders/booker, or some stupid shit

We're gonna get our shit packed in. Especially if 'ol Corndog is starting (which he is).
I'll still be there to experience the horror in person. Hope to run into some of y'all while I'm there.

Seasons 1&2 of The Good Place both on Netflix. Really quirky, fun show. Very binge-worthy.

Just saw this thread. Try Death by Black Hole by Neil Degrasse Tyson— A bunch of fun short essays about space.

I'm definitely going to see this because, Dark Phoenix is one of my favorite X-Men storylines,. But I'm a little underwhelmed with the trailer. It's probably because I don't find Sophie Turner to be that great of an actress.

Netflix may have finally done a decent sci-fi movie with Extinction. Not bad
Watched it the other night. In general I thought it was a really good premise but just couldn’t execute. Felt the scenes were rushed and unpolished—and Michael Pena was really miscast. Much, MUCH better than How It Ends, though. What a piece of shit... -
Fellowship graduation present from the wife. She’s pretty OK sometimes, I guess- 7

Culkin is basically playing a grown-up version of Igby from Igby Goes Down. And I don't think that's a bad thing.

These new Honda commercials have the most ballless cover of Higher Love that could ever possibly be recorded. The singer makes Boy George sound like Lemmy.
FYI, that's a Hyundai commercial. The fact you thought it was Honda only reaffirms how fucking pointless it is. In short, I concur.

Death of Stalin.
Good, but not great. Not nearly as good as In the Loop or Veep.
