I used to worry about this when pointing out that Billy Liucci is the embodiment of every reason they'll never be a championship program. That their entire fanbase is at fault because they'd rather pay that assclown a bunch of money to tell them how special and unique they are than to pay money to someone who will actually hold the program accountable.

But then I realized that I was worried about Texas A&M listening to and implementing advice received from Longhorns. Hahaha. No, we're free to continue pointing out how obvious their institutional problems are and they'll never do jack shit about it. Hell, the only ones who are open-minded enough to understand end up posting on Longhorn boards.

The leading figure on the A&M internet is a guy who has been telling them leading up to every season, without fail, for over two decades that:

    1. Their players are more talented than Texas's players.
    2. Their players are more skilled than Texas's players.
    3. Their coaches are better gameday coaches than Texas's coaches.
    4. Their coaches are better recruiters than Texas's coaches.
    5. Their recruits are better prospects than Texas's recruits.

For over two decades he has said every single year that everything about their program is better than Texas, and yet they've accomplished jack shit compared to Texas. Not just during our great run in the 2000s, but they haven't even accomplished more than us since they joined the SEC. They won a Cotton Bowl. They beat Alabama. That's it. They haven't even accomplished more than Texas has during one of the dark eras of our program. But if you point out that he's been selling them a load of bullshit you're hated for being a 2%er then banned. Common sense says Liucci is either lying to them on purpose to make money off of them or he's the worst fucking football analyst of all time. Either way why in the hell are you giving him your money? But they don't want to hear that because it might mean they're not as special as their moms told them they are. So he will continue to rake it in.

Probably already mentioned. Sometimes in loochie's wonderfully written articles, I get the impression that he is somehow tight with the insiders at the top of the aggy athletic department. Surely they are not that fucking stupid. But they are aggy, so there it is.

I know people here think it sucks but the SEC Shorts for this week should be pretty good.

Correct. The only sec network I've ever watched is an occasional game not on network, espn, etc. Already got 8 or more hours of different programming set to record. Should be plenty of Longhorn puffing. And will enjoy the aggy shit show.

Also, there have been many pos rep posts that I cannot rep. Ran out of rep morning.

Not a fumble. Can’t advance a fumble. Seemed more like a bad snap than a backwards pass - no one had possession of it

ref said qb never had control, so the ball can be advanced. this was just what the tv ref guy said. ain't no way a b12 crew would get it correct.

As a born and bred north Texan, if you had said Prosper is playing Trinity to me 30 years ago I would have laughed and changed the subject to something not batshit crazy.

For those that aren't aware, not that long ago Prosper was just a sleepy farming community without many working farms while Trinity was in Euless near DFW airport.

Yes. In the late 70's my little brother took his first coaching job in Prosper. We visited him and the area was how you described it. All the "small farm and ranch towns" north of Dallas have been growing for years.

These guys are going to shoot up some post offices or a Luby’s when we start putting guys back into the nfl, starting this spring. They’ll have nothing left to tell themselves and they’ll just start shooting.

    Probably shoot their dicks off.

One I max out SS contributions next month I’ll throw some more. Thank you to the rich bastards that made #ColinBatonRouge just a funny tagline and future joke.

Gib Dawson leading the team onto the field for the 1953 Cotton Bowl vs. Tennessee. In the first televised Cotton Bowl, he scored a second quarter touchdown on a 9 yard run in a 16-0 shutout. Those uniforms back then... we looked like Syracuse! lol
In 1951 he became the only Texas player ever to lead the Longhorns in five different offensive categories in the same season. He was twice all-conference and a 1984 inductee in the Longhorn Hall of Honor.

Linked below is the 1952 UT vs Arkansas game, starting at around 1:45. It's basically the Gib Dawson show. He ran all over Arkansas that day. 3 TDs in the first half alone. As Kern Tips, the Humble Oil narrator states, Gib Dawson was wearing #44 that day instead of his usual #47.

    Speaking of Kern Tips....

Thanks for this. Brings back memories of watching the Humble replays with Kern Tips as a five year old that could not get enough football.

Interesting seeing all the things that distinguished the game back then. Flags that marked the goal lines, crepe paper on the goal posts, T-Formation, dive plays, quick pitches, fullback traps, no face masks and even a single wing.

Could have done without the aggy band though.

Now I will have to waste several hours watching more of these.

Yea they played TAMUK a few years ago up in Jerryworld.  They got beat up pretty good in the first half, but came back strong in the second and gave the Javs a scare.

and a&i has sucked for more than several years. years ago they were kinda good.

    What do you do?

    I’m retired.

    What did you do?

    Welder.

    Acetylene? Mig? Tig?

Any of it. If it can be welded, I can weld it.

    Cast iron?

    Yeah.

     I don’t mean braze.

     I didn’t say braze.

    Pot metal?

    What did I say?

An old friend years ago was a damn good welder,  machinest  and character. Could make anything out of metal. When asked if he could weld, his response was, "I can weld a pigs ass to linoleum".

Let me give you a list of Texas colleges/universities with lower admissions percentages than the diploma mill in college station:

Rice, Trinity, UT Austin, Texas Wesleyan, A&M Commerce, LeTourneau, Baylor, McMurray, UTD, SMU, TCU, Southwestern, Austin College, Howard Payne, A&M International, UH Victoria, Texas Lutheran, Tarleton State.

All are more selective institutions than aggy CS.
