When you look at their record(and record against the spread) for before they started doing is vs after they started doing it, and take into account that they didnt bother to do it with TCU last year because they didnt think of them as a potential playoff opponent, this most certainly altered the outcome of some of these games. It's a huge deal.

Pretty sure the Thamel report or another journalist said the thought is that they have scouted potential CFP opponents at some point in the past three seasons, there just haven’t been any sources besides other Big Ten schools to come forward so far. It was clear that TCU was a major threat to be in the playoff by mid-November. I think one of the best parts of all this would be if it comes out they used tickets to a TCU game and still gave up 51.

I can’t find a Chase Evans on twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn who has a connection to Georgia.  I wanna believe, but until I do…I can’t.  I can’t believe Michigan would do that to another team, even Ohio State.

I don’t think these venmos are anything important, but someone on that thread posted a linkedin profile for a Chase Evans that is a recruiting intern at Michigan. It’d be pretty hilarious to be that kid and see people trying to wrap you up in this when all you do is set up balloon arrangements and bake shitty “Texas-shaped” cookies.

as opposed to the he plays for Texas, so he is an under-rated dual threat take?

Please point out where I even called him underrated or a fucking dual threat lol. All I said is it was a terrible time for scouting and HS football in California, and laughed at a guy who already flamed out of OU who was rated much higher. I actually think a top 200 composite ranking is a pretty good spot for a project such as Maalik, but wouldn’t fault anyone who thinks his ceiling is much higher or lower than that. The good thing is that his recruiting ranking has nothing to do with how he will play going forward, so who gives a shit. Yes, I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as a Texas fan until proven otherwise. Congrats on not being a homer though - you are so, so strong.

He was dropped, because he completed 55% of his passes, 9TDs, and 4 ints as a Junior in the shortened Covid season. He followed that up with 63% comp, 22 TDs, and 9 ints as a senior. He rushed for 99 yards over those 16 games as a starter. Not exactly numbers that scream 5 star

Well shit, with this in-depth analysis have you considered a job with On3?

I don’t go by on3 but he did drop but my point is, he was a 5 star so obviously they liked what they saw at one point. Your right tho, he was raw, but it’s been two years, let’s see what happens

The drop in the rankings also came after his prime HS years were completely fucked by the pandemic. I’d bet that On3’s tiny evaluation staff never had a single person watch him play a snap as a starter in person. Hell, they had Nick Evers as the #78 player in the country that cycle. Would anybody take him over Maalik?

  6. Willing it into existence: 6:30 on ABC. If this is a night game and we can handle BYU first, DKR should be rocking.

Feel like the last Bedlam is a lock for Big Noon, especially with OSU heating up. I see Gameday being in Athens for UGA-Mizzou, making that the 6PM ESPN game. Bama-LSU 2:30 CBS. USC’s failure has taken a bit of the hype away from the game against Washington, but I’m guessing that is our competition for the primetime ABC slot. If ESPN picks that game, hope FOX can pick our’s up for a night slot (as long as it’s Benetti/Huard and not Brando). Notre Dame-Clemson is also out there, but that game kind of sucks now. Could see it being the 11AM ABC kick.

Fuck a 6-day window though, I hate that shit.

The PA guy made a very sarcastic warning about running onto the field on that last drive...they definitely would have gone for 2 and rushed the field had they made it

Was definitely having 2018 WVU flashbacks during that entire drive.

The are good/great receivers, but I don’t think they have a large catch radius. Gerry has even said Sanders will get dinged in the draft for catch radius. Quinn benefits from Sanders and X ability to get open, but they don’t make incredible catches. I am only commenting on catch radius, not overall ability to play receiver. Athletic and fast, yes..

LJH made the most highlight reel grabs out of any of our recent WRs. The very definition of large catch radius. Guy probably saved Sam 10% on his completion percentage in 2018.

I am worried Sanders won't play.

If he doesn't, we should go to 4 (& some 5) WR sets with Cook & Neyor. I don't think we will.

I am worried Sark does too many predictable runs up the gut and too many passes to stationary receivers behind the LOS. I am worried our attempts to go deep will miss. I am worried our red zone problems scoring TDs and Field Goal problems continue.

Will our D continue to play with intensity if our O struggles? I don't know.

I think we are set up for a stumble.
