jelly.
I was on a project for work out there...fuck, 22 years ago?...coming home every other weekend. I flew my old Bontrager 26" hardtail and a skateboard out there, storing them in my hijacked cubical. I'd skate the park in Sunnyvale every morning before work and explore trails in the evenings. easiest ones to get to were above Saratoga, off Skyline Blvd. flowy good times.
I remember I got one of those big hard cases for the bike and all my tools. SW baggage handler in San Jose who brought it in from the plane just let it fall with a boom in the claim area, like "fuck you and your bike". lol

"all the things." When did that become a thing? It kind of snuck up on me.
about the same time "a thing" did.
my wife went through a phase a while back where she ran "all the things" into the ground. she knew it bugged me. then one day, she showed up wearing it on a tshirt, on a date night. it quit bothering me.

I just bought a 4wd 2023 Tacoma with 40k miles and it has a whine in the drivetrain that my other 3 2wd Tacomas didn't have. Only whines when not under load from acceleration or braking. Redit says it normal.
Anyone have this experience with a 4wd?

intermittent door lock switch fob issues are a thing on my 2011 Camry. it's been working lately. my theory is it gets out of synch if I use the key in the door instead of the fob and it just likes to protest about it, like it was a Peugeot in another life.

on-site office pogues getting butthurt about remote employees gaming around the stupid, counter-productive fiefdom rules of insecure managers.

I just returned from a father-son motorcycle trip along Highway 1, from Los Angeles to San Francisco. It was an incredible bonding experience. He's 13 and autistic. This was the first time we had ridden together with coms on our helmets, and he talked to me more on that ride than he had in the prior 13 years. Something about the distance of the helmets and not being face to face, I think. He just opened up and started sharing all kinds of things. I'm still overwhelmed by it all, frankly.
also, this random pic I took yesterday.

instead of your typical "I will be out of office from 7/1/25 to 7/15/25, I will have limited access to email and phone calls during this time" this asshole had to put in there "I will be out of office cycling the Spanish Pyrenees yada yada yada". fucking cyclists

I built one from some leftover cedar 1-by material (stained on the rough side only). been pondering when to hang it because I read they only nest in early spring/late winter, and I didn't want to have to constantly run out wasps or the shitass house sparrows I want the owl to (hopefully) scare off, until then.
thoughts? how far in advance do owls search for nesting sites?
