  1. I did something similar, some years ago.  not that knuckle, but the next one further out on my ring finger, iirc.  used a loop of velcro as a quick-and-dirty, removable splint.  doc was kinda impressed with the "device".  since then, I don't bother with xrays on stuff like this.  if it's not poking out, there's really nothing to be done but maybe tape it up.

semi-related:  I don't remember why I bought it, but I picked up one of those spandex "copperfit" sleeves, I think for my knee.  never worked as advertised, but it works great as a bandage wrap.  just carry it and some gauze pads and you can cover just about any gash until you get to the truck.  machine washable.  I've actually loaned it to buddies who've had some deep cuts, grazing stumps and whatnot.  don't have to worry about tape not sticking, and it gives some compression to the wound.

the pucker factor on the first drop in this video was huge for me, today.  after getting that out of the way, it was all good times.  10.5 miles and >1200ft of climbing.  not bad for only my second ride after a month off.

I don’t have access to any, so no for me.

eh?  Angel Fire is just down the road from you (Taos, right?), and has a progressive drop zone off by itself, so you can session it.

it's also 98% tables tops.  the few gaps are on the double-black trails.

So you skipped leg day every now and again?

Brutal, I hope you are doing better now.

yeah, that freaked me out.  I don't remember a lot from the early days (meds, plus being in 2016 or so), but you can see pieces of gauze stuck to some of the sutures, so I'm guessing I took that pic shortly after unwrapping it, some time after I got home from the hospital.  probably within 2 weeks of the fall.  it's like my body immediately decided I wasn't going to be using that leg for a while.

My riding brothers found that skid in the woods (was an old trail bridge) and used it as a stretcher to carry me out.  I'll never forget that.  Glad I wasn't alone, that day.

how it ended (the screws worked loose after I'd been back on the bike for a while, so it all had to come out)

We are in full agreement. He lost for reasons he could not control: the voters don't want him.

very possible he won because effective campaigning claiming the other guy was a MAGA-funded?  Garza, as a self-styled progressive sure does love killing trees.  I got shit in the mail from him almost every day.  for those that chose to vote in the Blue Team primary, with that "information" in mind, it would be no choice at all.

in a non-primary election there's no way Garza wins....unless the Red Team guy is a MAGAdouche running in Travis Co.

meanwhile some people may have thought more strategically and chosen to vote in the R primary simply to scuttle dickheads like Lyin' Ted.  fat lotta good that did, as it turns out.  it is truly depressing that the masses of California shitbirds flooding into this state couldn't be bothered to help break the cult.  thank you, you can go back home now.  dumbasses.
