By being relatable and focusing on shit that pisses off politicians but makes the populace happy.

Like shitting on people who make trades while in office.

Leaning in big time on mega corps and the FTC cases to break up monopolies that are clearly fucking consumers.

Leaning in on extreme consumer protection policies like not being able to call things sales without proof of historical pricing etc.

Actual outreach and education campaigns on the net positives of immigration and the good of the mixing pot effect.

Leaning in on sports, one of America's greatest exports and producers of gdp.

Leaning in on public safety measures

Doing literally anything related to bank or finance reform instead of just calling plays from the good ole hope playbook.

You know the stuff he does and gets a good bump and then fucks off and doesn't keep his foot on the gas with.

He's an 80 year old moderate that has been in DC for 50+ years, therefore he's basically a bowl of porridge in a time where America is mainlining populism like heroin and has gotten overly distracted by stupid culture war bullshit.  He's not a populist and never will be.

He's a 4 points, 10 rebounds per game turnip.  He's not getting buckets or dropping dimes, but he's been doing some very necessary dirty work the last 3.5 years that has been ignored in the previous 40.  Maybe that changes in the next 4 years if he wins, but it would be out of character for him politically to do a 180.

His ability to beat Trump is all that matters.  If he fails, which I don't think he will, it's just more evidence that the USAs decline has accelerated and we're basically fucking Italy with a stronger economy and an actual military, which along with our other institutions, will continue to decline.

Bro... I actually think you're somewhat correct. The Republicans are selling out to DT. He is not a conservstive. He's just a con. It is well documented.

Even when he wins, it's only for himself, and it's temporary.

He will wipe out the Republican party as it is today. The only thing left will be the hard right, like yourself, which can't carry on politically because not enough people support hard right.  That's not what they think they're supporting in Trump now. You are hoping.

You've let a fox into your henhouse, hoping for a last grasp at a chance to require a certain lifestyle. Only a dictator can pull it off, but you don't really want that. The strategy is flawed.

Think about it. I don't even study history or politics. I'm just old and have a little bit of background in watching people support things they think supports their interests, but is actually counterproductive.

    I could be wrong, but I think Trump is doing to the Republican party what he has done to everything except his own name (which means he actually knows what he's doing or the name would be destroyed, too.}

Think about what you have said... You lined up behind Post Buchanan and now you're hoping Trump can deliver on the promise.

Not the same ballpark? It ain't even the same fucking game. He's tricked you like he tricked the banks and the racists. He's going to take your money.

When he wins and totally abandons you, who will you blame?

You do realize, you can be the whatever it is you want to be, regardless of who is President, right? Just be you.  Even if things go back to the 1800s, you're not going to have your own personal libslave. So just live, man.

I have no idea which poster it was, but someone here had the best description ever for Bannon.  “He looks like he smells like fucked buttholeFudge Nuggets.”

I’ll think of that line each time this thread gets bumped.

Jesus H, what a list of credits.  I don't care that he was an asshole or that I hate his drum sounds most of the time, that's astonishing.

I adore this record.  I had no idea Albini did it.

    Ditto.  Dang.

Yeah, I knew about the later Superchunk records, but No Pocky makes a lot of sense now in this context.

It is like a factoring arrangement.  In a normal factoring arrangement, a company will sell specific existing customer accounts receivable and will immediately get cash from the lender, say 65% of the face value.

What I have been seeing in some restaurant deals is that the borrower is selling future credit card collections for cash today.  And the "lender" typically requires the store to use their credit card payment system, so that the "lender" has total control.  Like I said, pretty much a doom loop when a company gets involved with a "lender" like that.

Colin Jost was surprisingly flat.  He hit on a few, but mostly the crowd just groaned.  I thought he'd do better.  Different gig for him, I guess.

I mean he did a joke about Biden being coked up for the SOTU speech and called it "high speed rails".  Of course that won't land with that audience.

Not enough cracking. Hopefully common sense can be cracked into them but seeing these morons grow up and jerk each other off the cloakroom is the next step   I. Sure Blacklab will come come out of the cloakroom and ban me because my opinion is different so I’ll let you guys beat each other off over free Palestine

You can't invent hypotheticals to get mad at Pierce about. Plenty of other things to knock him on.

    This feels like hyperbole

Not a hypothetical.  The dude argues EVERYTHING.
