Huh. I just had a cheap cabinet gun safe from academy when we suffered a break in like 20 years ago. Dude spent some real time trying to pry it open, but it held. I later upgraded slightly, but it’s still nothing fancy. It’s big enough, very heavy, and the lock is solid. Also from Academy.
How’s that SA 1911 shootin’?

I’ve been here since 1959.
I wouldn’t walk across the street to see LBJ, so no political clowns interest me.-

We just want a fair game.
Last HUGE away game at Alabama they gave us a fair game, after playing them at home with rig 12 refs fucking us over...
Remember "the call was announced incorrectly"
BIG 12 REFS
That blatant cheat/incompetence cost Texas the game.

He was all over the refs toward the end of the Vandy game. Most animated I've seen him in a while. I don't disagree he should make that a bit more regular of an occurrence but also don't think it's a bad thing to get the reputation that if you are complaining it's probably egregious. I don't know how Kirby's bitch ass gets calls when he cries nonstop all game long. At some point refs are going to screw him over intentionally UGA "brand" be damned. Hopefully that starts with our game.

All that I've known about Rodney Terry is that he's a person of respect. I think highly of him as a person. I've seen him be loyal to the people around him in environments where it would have been easier to say nothing. That's a shame people were making that kind of innuendo. I don't agree with it at all.
As a fellow Hilltopper, it is good to hear that about him.

I would love for my lawn to go away and for me to just gravel over it. Save me thousands of dollars a year.
My HOA forced me to remove half my “unapproved” xeriscaping several years ago at a cost of $3,500.
Some neighborhood newbie who wanted to do the same (and was rejected) complained 11 years after I had the gravel laid down over the dead St. Augustine.A year after that, The M.U.D. Xeriscaped the median in the main neighborhood thoroughfare. FML

Amazing to see so many adults being - or pretending to be - deluded into believing that the Judges in your favorite Beauty Contest are operating on some sort of objectively logical basis.
"Yeah, no... you're right, cookie baking is a more useful talent than baton twirling, and she did drop the baton eleven times... but those titties!"
You might have a point in there somewhere if your notion of Beauty were 1-for-1 congruent with money money money.
Mrs. Brat bakes some damn good cookies and was a talented baton twirler/drum major, but I dunno if she dropped the baton that much (no titty pics).

BTW - Smoot and his frat brothers were drunk at the time, which prompted the “historic” incident.

1 hour ago, ABSR said:The smoot /ˈsmuːt/ is a nonstandard, humorous unit of length created as part of an MIT fraternity pledge to Lambda Chi Alpha by Oliver R. Smoot, who in October 1958 lay down repeatedly on the Harvard Bridge between Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, so that his fraternity brothers could use his height to measure the length of the bridge.[1]
Oliver R. Smoot was selected by his Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity pledgemaster because he was deemed shortest—which made measuring the bridge the most labor-intensive—and he was the "most scientifically named."[2][5] Smoot repeatedly lay down on the bridge, let his companions mark his new position in chalk or paint, and then got up again. Eventually, he wearied of the exercise and was carried thereafter by the fraternity brothers to each new position.
One smoot is equal to Oliver Smoot's height at the time of the pledge, 5 feet 7 inches (1.7018 m). The bridge's length was measured to be 364.4 smoots (2,035 ft; 620.1 m) "± 1 εar" with the "±" showing measurement uncertainty and spelled with an epsilon to further indicate possible error in the measurement.
I knew Oliver Smoot.
We both attended Taipei American School in Taiwan during the late 1950s. He was a senior while I was a freshman.
After he graduated he went back stateside to attend MIT.
Never heard anything about him until my brother met up with him at a TAS reunion 30 years ago.
Then 20 years ago after I started messing around on the Internet, saw the MIT story about the Smoot “measurement” and it’s funny origin. This was our original campus in downtown Taipei then (the school moved to a large suburban campus in the 1960s):

Shit, parking has been fucked on campus since the beginning of time... Well my time... 1979.
I used to park by the Stadium at San Jacinto & 21st most of the time for class.
Sometimes close to Littlefield Fountain if I had a class in the 6 Pack. (Early ‘60s) -
Speaking of hard hitting news, the AAS actually shed a little bit of light on the City Council’s accounting chicanery for once….

on another note, I'm going to be vacant in my studio next week. I'm getting lots of interest.
When a prospective tenant tells you that they have not one, but TWO "emotional support animals", you gotta wonder just how fucked up they could be
Pretty much.
My recently divorced granddaughter (no pics) has a dog, a cat, and a hamster in her 680 sq/ft one bedroom condo.
