This could all be some gamesmanship by Sark.

Thats what I am thinking.  I understand he landed on his right shoulder but his left one took several times the force in that play.  Now maybe this wasn’t the key play that caused the injury, but if it was then it should be a relatively minor injury

I'm not sure the Democrats are handling this correctly. They have a lot of power right now, and they only need a handful of Republicans to come along.

The Dems are handing this absolutely fine. Never interrupt your opponent from making a complete ass out of themselves.  Jefferies becoming SOH for this congress would be a complete disaster for them.  Suddenly blame for all the disfunction lies at his, and the Dems feet if that were to happen and without an actual majority, the chances of getting anything meaningful completed is close to zero.  Sit back, let the chaos ensue, then  squeeze a few concessions at the end, but under no circumstances assume the speakership until you flip the House.  That is the ultimate goal.

He keeps arguing that it's the Dem's fault because they represented 96% of the "No" votes.  I wish she would have asked him what would have happened if they had represented 100% of the "No" votes.

I wish she'd ask him "Why should a Dem vote for a GOP speaker? Did you vote for Pelosi in 2019 and 2021?"

At least McCarthy finally said it out loud that Gaetz and his team are responsible but I fully expect him to go on Fox News and blame the Democrats once again.

It would be helpful if CNN would have on senior Dem House leadership to reiterate that it’s not their job to bail out the GOP or elect a speaker for a body where they don’t have the majority. And that the GOP didn’t vote for Pelosi in 2019 or 2021.

But no, let’s put on a bunch of GOP members to blame the Dems

"I'm sorry, you're asking me why democrats aren't voting for republicans?"

I posted this before but I will post it again.  When you run into a MAGA voter who has bought into this line that it is the Dems fault, please open to this link showing every Speaker of House election dating back to 1789 by party and ask them to point out where the minority party provided the decisive votes to elect a Speaker from the opposition party.   Then tell them to get fucked.

You laugh, but I'm serious. Im going to see some folks this weekend who lean conservative while claiming to be centrist capitalists. Which is irritating becuase I view myself as a centrist and they're miles right of me. Anyway, I'm guessing I'll hear something like this.

Print this out and ask your friends to look at every election for Speaker since the 1700's and ask them to point out where an opposition party swung an election for the other party to hold the Speaker position

the fucking insanity of SO FUCKING MANY churches being used for political rallies and criminal campaigns is just off the charts

Now just imagine what would actually happen to them  if the churches where Dem supporters instead of Pub supporters.

Also, I wonder if the opinion that "it's stupid" would prevail if President/Trump was excluded from the operation of the removal statute?

(a)A civil action or criminal prosecution that is commenced in a State court and that is against or directed to any of the following may be removed by them to the district court of the United States for the district and division embracing the place wherein it is pending:

    (1)
The United States or any agency thereof or any officer (or any person acting under that officer) of the United States or of any agency thereof,

If  Trump was currently president, and thus an officer of the United States, he probably could and would (?did) make this argument. The fact is he is not currently president, and thus he is not currently an officer of the US, therefore.. its still stupid.

He's going to get it, better to just accept it now.

(And spoiler, like 25% of the population can even name the Speaker of the House.  There will be no real effect on 2024 that wasn't already baked in.)

Unfortunately this is correct.  Gym wil win, shut down the government, default on the debt and crash the economy, cut off funding to Ukraine, then blame Biden for all of it.

Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy.  -Art. II, Sec. 2, Clause 1.

Yes, but are we sure we know what "Commander in Chief" or even "Army" and "Navy" really means?   These words could literally mean anything!

Even if the Dems could come up with a compromise to support a moderate Republican, how do they get McHenry to take a vote?  Is there anything stopping him from just keeping the House in recess until he gets the answer he wants?  Would they have to sue him to test McHenry's "necessary and appropriate" authority?

Well shit, why didn’t McCarthy just declare the House in recess and never let them vote him out in the first place?

I believe you can point to Ricky, Vince, Shipley, Colt…there’s some Texas guys in there that played balls out for us. It’s what @ChiTownDoc alluded to though, the sooners wanna win that game like they wanna breathe the last 23 years. We on the other hand are entitled and play more like we should win a lot because we recruit well. I hate it with all my being but at the end of the day it’s backed up by the amount of ass kickings we have taken in that rivalry since stoops was hired. Those fuckers come angry and we just show up.

It is truely amazing that after losing 7 out of 9 times, TX can’t get fired up for this game.  It also amazes me OU isnt bored as shit with this “rivalry” and still feels any anger whatsoever.
