  1. If that number is correct, Samsung consumes 2,438,050,700,000 gallons per year, or 7,482,104 acre ft. / year.  For reference, Lake Travis at full is 1.1M acre ft.  So Samsung consumes nearly 7 FULL Lake Travises annually?!

You have an extra 3 zeros on the end

    ~325,000 gallons to acre foot

    So around 7500 acre feet.

    Still a lot of water.
  2. So who ordered the dean of students message yesterday if Hartzell didn’t have anything to do with this?

If he is just being told what to do and doesn’t agree with it then burn the house down.

  3. Can’t find the original though which is making me skeptical.

Yeah, looks like she is a professor at UT. Just wanted to make sure before I sent it to others.

    I hope it is real

I thought the DCC was still open.  Are you referring to DDCE?  Because yeah, that's being shut down.  Their last event is the Tower Awards deal in a couple weeks.  Our Subiendo program is still on pins and needles to see if we survive.  We're green-lit for this summer's academy.  But after that is a total crapshoot.

Yeah typing to fast and left the E off.  Yes they are still open, but they are gone as of July 1st.

I'm not on any platforms, but is there any chatter from any official UT social media about this shit?

UT Comms has gone dark for awhile, especially internally.  Ever since the closing of the DCC.

International Office went to appointment only. When I got my photo taken in January, I booked my appointment 15 minutes before. I cannot speak to the PO. I assume you are likely correct.

Yep, there are plenty appointments for tomorrow.  They also changed their name to Texas Global 5 years ago, so if you look for the international office you may not find it.

  7. Dripping Springs isd has an agenda item for Monday(Aprill 22nd)  to remove gender identity and sexual orientation as protected from discrimination...

Wait…you’re not supposed to drink coffee after a colonoscopy? For how long?
Cuz I’m pretty sure I had some the next day. Nobody told me otherwise.

Yeah, I was not aware.  Had a cup about 45min after my procedure last Friday and no issues.

  9. Had mine done last Friday.  Family history of polyps, so they wanted me to get one done at 45, although I am hearing they are now saying all 45 yr old's need them.  Fasting wasn't that hard, but the prep had me in the bathroom all night.  Procedure was at 7:30am, so I got home slept some and then watched March Madness.

They did remove 3 polyps and I will get the result within the next week or so, but doc wasn't concerned.  Probably on a 3-5yr checkup timeline due to family history.  I did come out of the sleep asking for Jameson and brisket, so I prolly need to rethink how much I drink.

My wife did consider divorcing me due to the sounds that were coming out of the bathroom.

Went to a bday party that night for a friend.  Ate a lot of brisket and had a beer(apparently not supposed to drink for 24 hrs).

  10. LCRA is going to stage 3 officially on May 1st.   There are rumors that they are talking about going to stage 4 in late summer/early fall based on projections.  They are also reworking the drought contingency plan and all the stages. People need to stop irrigating and worry about drinking water.

Lots more people consuming water than in previous droughts.  If we don't get rain soon and lots of it west of us it could get bad.

    Update of sorts.

Just got a call from mom.  She has an iPhone 8 she will not ever give up, because it has a button.   She is on our ATT phone plan.  I have an iPhone 15 Pro. I have wifi calling turned on, and my phone is connected to work wifi.

She's blissfully unaware there is an ATT outage. Said she had talked to a couple of her friends today (no idea if they are on ATT or whatever).

So, some credence to the 4G/LTE vs 5G phone possibility thing I mentioned earlier.

Wife(no pics) has a iPhone 15 pro and is having no issues, although my kids 12 and 13 don't have service.  The issue/rumor of a sim card database registry kind of makes sense at this point.

  12. Challenger named Chevo Pastrano against Erin Zwiener in Hays county as well.  In my part of Hays Dems are getting salty about it.  Could be close.

  13. It seems their podcast has already been taken down (or it previously failed). But GOOD NEWS you can still find their book on Good Reads!

Bestselling authors Jamie Ivey (host of the Happy Hour podcast) and Aaron Ivey have asked these tough questions too, and by God's grace and a lot of elbow grease, they've come out on the other side with a strong and healthy marriage. In  Complement , you'll learn how you can too, as they walk you through the keys to building a satisfying and lasting marriage. With funny, real-life stories and key insights from Scripture, the Iveys can help you unite with your spouse, cheer each other on, respond the right way when you fail each other, and serve one another well—even in conflict or tough times! If you want a strong marriage (or simply to be a better better-half!), the Iveys will show you the way in  Complement.

She was currently on a book tour for a new book being released tomorrow.

My understanding is that here podcast was fairly successful among the evangelical crowd. Looks like they are scrubbing social media and podcasts.

  14. Yeah, this one hits real fucking close to home.  We used to be part of the evangelical community in Austin.  Haven't been for 10+ years, but know this person and his family.  On top of that, the family lives in our community and their kids(adopted and biological) go to school with my kids.  This is going to be a fucking mess...not unlike any of the other 100's of issues like this, but now my kids are close to it.

    Just for clarification....fuck that guy.

It’s ok, it was dealt with and under the blood of Jesus.

“I want to express how deeply grieved I am that my past sins led to so much pain, confusion and division,” he wrote in the post. “Some may wonder why I am just now making a public statement 20+ years later? It was because I was recently confronted about things I said or did 20+ years ago – things I believed were dealt with and under the blood of Jesus.”
