Had the "is a taco a sandwich conversation with the 17yr old man child" after reading this thread. He insists that it is not because it is one continuous piece of bread and therefore not a sandwich. I like the way he thinks, but not sure I agree with him yet. It would also knock out some really good "sandwiches" if I choose to agree.

Thin bacon is key.
This right here. I love some thick bacon, but it is not the best for this type of thing.

So are things like Pastrami on Rye falling into an a la carte category?
I would just assume that any pastrami worth it would be on Rye.

Sounds like it's your fault for the genetics that English isn't a strong suit. Just kidding dude, glad they are getting her some help with the Dyslexia. We had a similar issue but with dyscalculia (think of dyslexia but with numbers/math).
You are absolutely right. I am self diagnosed dyslexic and probably passed down a lot of other crap, ADHD included. I use that damn red line to auto correct spelling all the time. It doesn't help that I am also color blind.

The 2019 slaying of Lofton was never officially solved, as Austin police ruled the death as “undetermined” before a DNA profile from the scene matched Meza in 2020, but Meza was never sought in the case.
How the hell do you match DNA from a crime scene and not look for the guy?

My 6th grade daughter failed the English portion last year and the school said she had to come into summer school. We talked to a teacher friend in the district and told us that was bullshit. She was able to keep all her electives and they put her in an Inclusion English class. During class she was pulled aside at various times with other kids in the same situation and then made up the 30 hours during the school year. We didn't get notice this year that she "may" have failed so it seems to be a good thing. I don't know if all districts have inclusion classes or not.
The silver lining on it was that we had been telling the school that she might have dyslexia for years. They tested her in 4th grade and she didn't qualify. We brought it up again when she failed and they did a more comprehensive test which showed that she does qualify for help with dyslexia. She will have to loose an elective next year as there is now a "dyslexia" class, but there are 4 electives and she is in the 2 that matter most so she doesn't care.

Former co-worker was murdered by his brother while moving his elderly parents out of the house about 10 years ago. The brother was going to have to move out as well, but they told him they would help him out and get him on his feet. Didn't matter he went back into the house came out with a gun and shot my co-worker in the back 5-6 times.

I am on the board of our Water Control and Improvement District(Similar to a MUD). Most of the area in our neighborhood is controlled by this entity and not the HOA. I initially got on the board to keep up to date with the things going on in our area.
The amount of crazy and entitlement that people have started to actually voice in the last few years has increased dramatically. Residents wanted the board to pay to cleanup their personal property from the freeze. We had another guy request that we plant live oaks in the common area adjacent to his property so people walking down the sidewalk couldn't see into his house because they would forget to close the blinds. It is never-ending in the amount of things that people think they are owed or have a right too.

Wow...couldn't stop cringing/laughing at this one.

Yep and people coming out saying it was a bad decision and they should still have it. You know cause they are selfish and want to have fun. Yeah, we all want to have fun, but not at the risk of a kids dying from a egg side piece of hail to the dome. There is not adequate shelter for the amount of people that go down there. It was the right call.

3+inch hail predicted around Austin area tonight, line rolling in between 6 and 8pm.
Right when the parade for Founders Day in Dripping is supposed to start. They haven't cancelled yet, but that will be bad news if they go and a severe storm passes through

I actually would not be surprised if when the Starship program goes live, they move launches to the Cape. Several years ago Starbase was described as a lab by SX for development.
They have already started building the infrastructure in Florida.

The plan was for the first stage to have a "hard landing" in the ocean, probably in the Gulf of Mexico, and for the second stage to go mostly around the Earth and come down near Hawaii.
While that was the official plan, in reality I don't think they thought it was going to make it that far. They still have never had all raptor engines work at the same time.

Yep. Gerrymandering doesn't get fixed unless the federal courts step in or another party gains control of the state house.
And they have to be in control when they redraw the lines every ten years.
