if you had 2 days between your planned day at the grand canyon and hotel reservation in las vegas what would you do in southern utah with a couple of kids and a couple of old people?

With a couple of old people and some kids, Zion is not the location unless you just want to ride the bus up the canyon and back.  DO NOT attempt Angels Landing with some olds and young kids.  Repeat....DO NOT.  The olds will die on the way up and the kids will probably go over the ledge - unless of course, that;s the plan.

Go to Bryce Canyon.....you can walk the rim without much difficulty, the drive out to Rainbow Point is really nice.

The team is going to a Super when this season looked lost, but people are too busy arguing about finite baseball rules to enjoy it.

It's like the politics board but the stakes are much higher

  3. Many, many moons ago...I think it was 1975, San Antonio Roosevelt HS vs Converse Judson, ump at home plate called a balk on the Judson catcher when he faked a throw to pick off a runner on 1st.

  4. Just got back yesterday from Ireland flew in/out of Cork, IE via London.  We did the regular tourista stuff in the SW...

Killarny, Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, Gap of Dunloe, Killarny National Park, Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle, etc.

It was surprisingly affordable.  Weather was great.  We hiked, drove the countryside, saw castles, stayed in a really great country house - easily 5 stars at a 3 star price.

Our big miss was getting out to the Skelligs.  We saw them but couldn't get a spot on a boat to land.  The Skelligs are 7 miles offshore and were made famous by the most recent Star Wars (Luke's hangout).  Its a World Heritage site and I'll be going back because its now a bucket list item for me.
