Also graduated from Judson. Can confirm that crime was getting bad before I left and has only gone downhill from there.

Sunrise aka Gunrise is terrible. My sister is a principal in the district and it’s well known that if you are a good football player, you choose an Agricultural emphasis in high school so that you go to Judson instead of Wagner, there is a different emphasis that you choose( I forget which one) if you are a good basketball player, this allows you to go to Wagner. This is how their teams are always stacked.

Tech had 89 yards in penalties and UT had 59.

I hope someone breaks down game film and shows how on every receiver screen TT ran there was holding by a receiver or when our db’s got by the block they were blocked in the back. Tech should have had 300 yds in penalties.

That catch was the most obvious review imaginable.  The officials should do their jobs.

Yeah, TT didn’t need to stop the clock for all the reviews they got, there was plenty of time for the review officials to realize they should look at that play. And how the hell did they take back the targeting on 6 when he clearly lowered his helmet and used it as a weapon. Hell the announcers were explaining the rule and it seemed to fit all the criteria.

edit: they didn’t take it back but reviewed it and it should have been called

I am a glutton for punishment so went back and took a look at our first down at the 4 yard line at the beginning of the 2nd half. First off Collin Johnson got it on 3rd down and the announcers called it as such on the field. Next Sam missed the conversion according to an absurd multi-minute review despite the call on the field (due to helmet fly off and him being down at the precise second which is counter to all football watched ever) and from rational viewers including announcers in real time as first down. This conference has refs that insist upon the game and it sucks...ridiculous!

Yeah, when they reversed that one I lost my shit. The replay they were relying on was an angle from the end zone, not straight across the field. There is no way you can tell where the ball is when Sam’s butt went down when you’re looking at it from an angle like that. Reversals are supposed to happen only when there is clear evidence. Absolutely ridiculous !

  5. Stidham is a cousin of a close friend of mine. He tells me how frustrated he gets with some of Malzahn’s game planning. When they have a clear advantage in one area, they sometimes do the opposite.

Is TLU as prestigious as Southwestern or Trinity? I always placed it near Howard Payne or McMurry.

Believe it or not, TLU is ranked by some services as high as 3 in Texas, behind Trinity and Rice, but I’d rather see her at Southwestern myself.

Only the dumb kids play full price at Trinity.  In fact, they're very upfront about it -- go to their website and they have a grid that shows with this GPA and this SAT, here's the minimum scholarship they'll offer.

I get that, but even with $25000 off, it’s still $33000 a yr and I’ve got two more kids to put through school. If she was my only one, it would be no problem.

Congrats. That’s really awesome to have a large family of academics. Keep up the good work. We are still 3 years away for the first to start applying. She wants to go to UT but I think she’d do better in a smaller environment.

My daughter graduates this year and is an auto admit but like you, her personality tells me she’d do better at a smaller school. She really wants to go to Trinity but might end up at Southwestern or TLU. Trinity is expensive as shit.

I bought cigarettes at a UTotem when I was 10 for my mom in '76. The clerk gave me a look and I quickly stammered, "they're for my mom". Ok kid, here you go.

I used to run into the back of a bar and buy my Dad some Kools from a vending machine.

He visited last week. He's a big target for us, though we'll see if Powell getting involved changes the calculus there.

Yeah, I got that, but it seemed like everyone was convinced he was ours to lose. Now, there’s not much confidence that we land him. What changed?
