The new season of Vera has been wonderful! Having David Leon return after almost a decade away in his new role is pretty cool. Brenda Blethyn said she would have ended the show if the producers had brought in a new core instead of getting Leon to return. The synergy between the two is just so good. Blethyn is still full of energy at 78, but whenever she is done I kinda hope Leon’s character can have his own show. He really excels at his role as the now DI Ashworth.

When I first watched Vera the first 5 seasons weren't available for streaming so we started on the 6th. Going back now to watch the earlier eps. Season 1 was mediocre. Seemed way too dark. Season 2 is off to a better start. Fantastic show overall though - one of the tv greats, a rung below shows like the Sopranos, the Wire and Curb.

CNBC with a headline story that Tesla had a $500m order of AI chips from NVIDIA, and Elon personally decided to have them rerouted to Twitter. Delays Tesla's receipt of another order by months at least.

This is why you don't let your CEO run other companies. He decides the priorities between the companies to his own benefit.

This is either Mosk trying to threaten Tesla stockholders by showing what could happen if they don't give him 25% voting control and however many billions of dollars he's demanding. But to reach that conclusion you'd have to assume Mosk foresaw the news about the NVIDIA chips leaking to the media this week. The leak came from within NVIDIA so that assumption seems questionable.

The other option is he's concluded Tesla isn't worth his time anymore because he knows he's going to lose the vote. The bitch is taking his toys and going home.

When you look at the trajectory of the web’s most valuable properties on a year-over-year basis, things look especially bleak, with, Google (-0.9%), YouTube (-4.4%), Facebook (-7.7%), Twitter (-6.2%), Twitch (-11.9%) and Amazon (-2.7%) all still seeing significant declines. Only a few sites like Reddit (+31.3%), TikTok (+11.6%), Instagram (+9.9%, but trending down every year since 2019), and LinkedIn (+17.9%) are seeing any form of year-over-year growth. ( important to note that these are visits rather than active users and don't include traffic from an app)

  4. Agree with above above post about speed cameras. They're everywhere.

I don't know if it's still the same but when I lived in London, drivers were relatively polite. I never had a problem with a roundabout or merging. Now, if you're on a sidewalk or in a market, they'll plow over you just like an American woman with 3 kids racing for the sample station at a Costco.

That old Verve video was not much of an exaggeration.
