  1. I'm glad they got a few good dishes out of that challenge because the theme confused the fuck out of the contestants AND the judges.  Nobody knew wtf made anything "chaos cuisine".  It's telling that two of the best chefs in the contest so far shit the futon most magnificently. Like what were either of them thinking, yikes.

  2. Aggressive high press and some tight midfield marking, we haven't sniffed a decent attacking chance yet and Driussi is invisible again.  Maybe it will open up after St Louis gets on the board.  Until then, more horseshoe of despair and bad first touches giving it away in the middle third.

Ok we just had a scoring chance and did fuck all with it.

our Hays properties are up ~10%.  protesting property assessments, my hobby i guess.  every damn year.

That sucks.  I have no idea, I think they just fucked us so hard two years ago and the comps have been so low since then that they had to correct it.  It's either completely random dart throwing or possibly because houses were sitting on the market for so long, that not enough of them actually sold to be used as comps.

  4. First game I have attended this year, and it was a blast. I thought the Stuver foul was a red in person, but the replay shows a defender in good position, it could have been but also MLS refs tend to call that a yellow when it's farther out. Lucky call there.

If we can't figure out something to solve our issues at right back, we're going to need 3-4 goals to win games. Crazy how big of a dropoff it was from Lima to Jimenez, and Gallagher seems less effective on the right than the left. We need to be starting Biro and Gallagher from now on with Jimenez coming in at RB and moving Gallagher to left if Biro is coming out. Or we need to just play 3 CBs.  We are currently a fucking sieve in transition.

Two wins and multiple players coming on to create goals and chances in the attack, it's a good trend if we can pair it with better defending on counterattacks.

I think Wolff needs to figure this out to keep his job, the roster had the pieces to get back into the playoffs. I'll be firmly team Wolff out if he doesn't figure it out this year.

Interesting.... I always thought Valencia was way less dynamic than Pereira, but didn't leave the back line hanging out to dry where Pereira could have a few runs in a game, but when he was at the 6, the back line was left in lurch a lot when he failed to clean stuff up.  I really like Valencia for what he is and glad he's on the team.  I may be full of shit as well.  Agree Pereira and Ring looked good Saturday.

You're probably seeing more than I am, I haven't been to a game in a while and my attention wanders when we struggle. I'm honestly mystified by our midfield overall since last season. I'm hoping we figured something out that can be built on and wasn't just a product of the opposition being ass.

  6. That Dallas starting 11 is in bad shape, holy shit man.  I'm guessing they have multiple guys out, but I didn't bother checking or listening much to the commentary.

Driussi struggled some early but was the difference in the game imo.  Huge impact and is building good chemistry with Rubio and Obrian (already more chemistry than he has with Rigoni), plus a terrific play with Biro to setup a Zardes signature first touch of befuddlement near the box.

There was a stat that showed Ring actually created more chances than Driussi though which is great. He blew a couple of chances, but I like him being able to play more forward like this.  My take is that with Valencia, he has to play deeper to compensate vs playing with Pereira who can anchor better. I'm probably full of shit but he definitely had more juice last night, whatever the reason.

We're a long way from being competitive against top teams, but maybe we won't be dogshit all year.

  8. I have scheduled someone to come take a look.

These digital control panels tend to be expensive as fuck to replace.  If it's the control board, it could be a lot less, but the panels can cost like 400 bucks to order the part from what I remember.

  9. Whirlpool top load washer just shat the bed after less than 3 years.  Will not power on at all after checking breakers and plugging it into other power sources.

Assuming it is most likely the control panel or control board, I never get lucky with just a blown fuse or something.

I looked into Speed Queen last time around, but the wife had never heard of it and wanted to buy through Costco, so we went that route.  We didn't opt for the extended warranty, which seems pretty dumb in retrospect.

It seems like appliances are just garbage top-to-bottom these days.  I am tempted to try and buy an old used one that has actual buttons and was built 20 years ago.

Any updates on Speed Queens or other brands that have been solid?  I thought Whirlpool was one of the better ones, but quality issues probably hit all of them since covid.

  10. Yeah, I like Costco too.  I think it's because I have more "gatherer" than "hunter" in my genetic ancestry or something.  But, I will say that I pretty much hate going to the Costco near my in-laws in Dallas.  It's a huge pain in the ass.  The new Costco in Kyle is a fucking breeze compared to the South Austin one, which in turn is a joyous experience compared to the aforementioned north Dallas location.

I go to Sam's once or twice a year.  They have some good stuff, but much like Walmart, I walk in and immediately want to walk out.  I didn't know about the online pickup option though, that could be cool.

  11. I finally got this a few weeks back when the wife took the kids out of town.

So far, it's really fun and interesting to play around in a familiar but different world.  I am just fucking around looking for shrines to get hearts and stamina after dying a lot fighting the bigger monsters.  I hate not having any stamina to fly around.  I have yet to start on the 4 corners of interest, which I assume is like the 4 dungeons in BoTW.  The weapon system is overwhelming as fuck, I don't really know what I'm doing, I just fuse shit with rocks hoping it will last longer?  I don't really like the idea of fusing weapons to every item I have just to see what they do, that seems tedious.

Should I just fuse random crap for a while, or does the game eventually help make sense of how to choose what to fuse weapons with?

Same with building.  I can sit there and waste 30 minutes trying to build a wagon but it doesn't really help me do anything, I think I can get a horse to pull it, but how would that even help me?  Should I be spending time trying to build crazy shit, or is the game going to give me things I need to build and lead me to that conclusion logically?

Those are some dumbass questions, sorry, I just don't really want to spend a lot of time experimenting with building and fusing unless there is a big payoff.

  12. Very fortunate to come away with a point in that one-sided shit show.

I was wondering in the off-season how we were going to generate chances when they cut Lima loose. That guy's crosses created a lot of our goals last year.  Last night, we had maybe 1 or 2 crosses that went into or near a dangerous area. Zan and Rigatoni have been hapless on the left, and Gallagher hasn't done anything on the right side. We have 9s who have terrible touch and can't play hold up for shit. I don't know what's up with Pereira (or Wolff), but our midfield fucking sucks balls.  Ring and Valencia are not the answer, they should both be subs, not starters in this system.  Wolff seems to be a catalyst at times for some of our better attacking sequences, but his attitude is trash. He looks like a petulant child when things don't go his way.

I don't think Wolff is the whole problem, but I also don't think he can get this team back on track. The team looks like they are done playing for him.

"Sound Opinions" has helped be discover some new bands as well.   They suffer a tiny bit from the same "I'm cooler than you" attitude but it isn't as bad as All Songs Considered.  At the end, they have callers give their opinions on previous shows.  Overall, I like it for discovering new music.

"Americana Music Show" is really, really good.  The dude just plays music and he never repeats a song.  He may play 8 songs from one album over the course of 8 weeks, but he has never repeated a song by an artist.

"Strong Songs" is very interesting to me, from a songwriter's standpoint.  The guy does a good job of breaking down the songs.

"Dolly Parton's America" has been a fun listen this year.  They just did the 8th of 9 sessions.

"Song Of The Day" by The Current.  They just play one song every day.  Some good, some bad...but mostly newer artists.  Played the new John Moreland  a few days ago.

Strong Songs just started a new season with a fantastic episode on "In Your Eyes".  I have been listening for about 2 years now, and he has gotten pretty good.  He's very much like a music or science teacher, a bit goofy to cheesy at times, but he hits on the stuff that really interests me about songwriting and production.  I could not get into stuff like Song Exploder where get into the personal stories that might interest the average listener more but didn't really scratch an itch for me.

  14. That's a great looking cast, tons of personality/drama and a lot of blasts from the past.

I had to look up Kefla Hare, apparently he was on season 2 of RR v RW.

Also, lmao at Jay, I hope TJ makes him drink something disgusting in the first daily, so we can watch him melt down and quit.

Good god, Avery with dark hair...

  15. 27 minutes in, I believe Minnesota should have 3 goals at this point. We have no buildup and no counter.

No Seba or Cascante though.  Can't imagine it would matter that much, we are going to be hot trash until (hopefully) the new guys can come on.
