  1. Yeah, I like Costco too.  I think it's because I have more "gatherer" than "hunter" in my genetic ancestry or something.  But, I will say that I pretty much hate going to the Costco near my in-laws in Dallas.  It's a huge pain in the ass.  The new Costco in Kyle is a fucking breeze compared to the South Austin one, which in turn is a joyous experience compared to the aforementioned north Dallas location.

I go to Sam's once or twice a year.  They have some good stuff, but much like Walmart, I walk in and immediately want to walk out.  I didn't know about the online pickup option though, that could be cool.

  2. I finally got this a few weeks back when the wife took the kids out of town.

So far, it's really fun and interesting to play around in a familiar but different world.  I am just fucking around looking for shrines to get hearts and stamina after dying a lot fighting the bigger monsters.  I hate not having any stamina to fly around.  I have yet to start on the 4 corners of interest, which I assume is like the 4 dungeons in BoTW.  The weapon system is overwhelming as fuck, I don't really know what I'm doing, I just fuse shit with rocks hoping it will last longer?  I don't really like the idea of fusing weapons to every item I have just to see what they do, that seems tedious.

Should I just fuse random crap for a while, or does the game eventually help make sense of how to choose what to fuse weapons with?

Same with building.  I can sit there and waste 30 minutes trying to build a wagon but it doesn't really help me do anything, I think I can get a horse to pull it, but how would that even help me?  Should I be spending time trying to build crazy shit, or is the game going to give me things I need to build and lead me to that conclusion logically?

Those are some dumbass questions, sorry, I just don't really want to spend a lot of time experimenting with building and fusing unless there is a big payoff.

  3. Very fortunate to come away with a point in that one-sided shit show.

I was wondering in the off-season how we were going to generate chances when they cut Lima loose. That guy's crosses created a lot of our goals last year.  Last night, we had maybe 1 or 2 crosses that went into or near a dangerous area. Zan and Rigatoni have been hapless on the left, and Gallagher hasn't done anything on the right side. We have 9s who have terrible touch and can't play hold up for shit. I don't know what's up with Pereira (or Wolff), but our midfield fucking sucks balls.  Ring and Valencia are not the answer, they should both be subs, not starters in this system.  Wolff seems to be a catalyst at times for some of our better attacking sequences, but his attitude is trash. He looks like a petulant child when things don't go his way.

I don't think Wolff is the whole problem, but I also don't think he can get this team back on track. The team looks like they are done playing for him.

"Sound Opinions" has helped be discover some new bands as well.   They suffer a tiny bit from the same "I'm cooler than you" attitude but it isn't as bad as All Songs Considered.  At the end, they have callers give their opinions on previous shows.  Overall, I like it for discovering new music.

"Americana Music Show" is really, really good.  The dude just plays music and he never repeats a song.  He may play 8 songs from one album over the course of 8 weeks, but he has never repeated a song by an artist.

"Strong Songs" is very interesting to me, from a songwriter's standpoint.  The guy does a good job of breaking down the songs.

"Dolly Parton's America" has been a fun listen this year.  They just did the 8th of 9 sessions.

"Song Of The Day" by The Current.  They just play one song every day.  Some good, some bad...but mostly newer artists.  Played the new John Moreland  a few days ago.

Strong Songs just started a new season with a fantastic episode on "In Your Eyes".  I have been listening for about 2 years now, and he has gotten pretty good.  He's very much like a music or science teacher, a bit goofy to cheesy at times, but he hits on the stuff that really interests me about songwriting and production.  I could not get into stuff like Song Exploder where get into the personal stories that might interest the average listener more but didn't really scratch an itch for me.

  5. That's a great looking cast, tons of personality/drama and a lot of blasts from the past.

I had to look up Kefla Hare, apparently he was on season 2 of RR v RW.

Also, lmao at Jay, I hope TJ makes him drink something disgusting in the first daily, so we can watch him melt down and quit.

Good god, Avery with dark hair...

  6. 27 minutes in, I believe Minnesota should have 3 goals at this point. We have no buildup and no counter.

No Seba or Cascante though.  Can't imagine it would matter that much, we are going to be hot trash until (hopefully) the new guys can come on.

I assume it still has beans in it.  If so, they should have a "Texas style" without beans.

I worked at Wendy's for two years in high school.  There are some myths about the chain out there.  One is that the chili uses "burnt hamburger meat".  No, it doesn't.  Standard practice was to have (at least) a couple of patties cooking on the griddle at all times so as to be able to serve to order quickly if customers showed up.  Inevitably, some of those patties reached "done" with no customers ready to order, so into the "chili meat" container they went.  We'd collect several pounds worth and freeze for future use.

I worked at the Wendy's on Lake Creek pkwy around '96, and the chili was often made with overcooked and dried out burgers.

  8. I watched the first one. The wife wasn't into it, but I laughed quite a bit. The running gag of how to refer to homeless person was well done.  The characters are all pretty funny, and I expect them to evolve a lot.

I guess I don’t know how bad Washington is. I don’t watch the NFL and what I’m watching Dallas do looks like a pretty good team.

Dallas looks incredible at times but only against shitty teams. They struggle with teams that have a pulse and get dominated by teams that are actually good.

  10. Maybe instead of a touchback, it's a turnover at the spot of the fumble. Would be a little better but I agree that fumbling out of the opponent's end zone shouldn't go back to the offense.

  11. That is quite a bit to unpack as usual.

So that guy expected more from Sark in this recruiting cycle than a top 3 finish... So he has been expecting Texas to be #1 or #2 just by riding the momentum of getting into the playoff a mere 2 weeks prior to NSD?

Good, not great. Top 3 finish is fine, call it a B+.  Maybe next year tu can grab enough shithead 5-star future transfers to get an A grade from this genuis.
