  1. The new horror/supernatural themes aren't horrible, but they sure as shit aren't as interesting or creative as the distopian tech-centric stuff that made the show so brilliant. It would suck if that's the new direction for future seasons.

I think that the original translation is “male whore who accepts money from male clients for sex.”

Men being their clients may have been unsaid, but understood.

I think that “puta” was just an abbreviation of “prostituta”.

A “puta”- a bitch (female dog) & a whore (prostitute) - gets penetrated during sex and thus…

    so would a “puto”.

  3. That was disgraceful and disgusting, but holy shit Balogun and Weah are going to be such a nightmare for almost any team to deal with.  Our whole team looked dominant throughout most of the match aside from maybe McKennie who had a few sub par plays.

    Fuck bringing back Geregg though.

Not sure of your budget but check the Dolphin and Swan resorts. They are not Disney hotels but are onsite and within walking distance to HS and have a boat that can get you back to the hotel in the evening. Usually they are under $300 a night. You also get access to early park hours if you stay there. There's also a lot of hotels around the area that are going to be cheaper than staying onsite. Just check if they have a shuttle to the parks.

Something to look into if you have a Costco or Sam's Club membership, you can get gift cards for Disney that are I think $94 for $100 worth. It's not that big of a deal but it's something. A good site I would look at is Disboards. They've got a budget board with some tips for how to save some money on your trip. https://www.disboards.com/forums/budget-board.22/

That's perfect, thanks.  Under 300 is fine, I am just now finding out the cost of all this shit.

Damn, I didn't realize the Guardians ride was at Epcot. My son would love that, but my daughter isn't tall enough anyway.

  5. We're going to WDW in July.  First time going as a parent, I've only been once in about '93 or something.  We have an 8 yo boy and 4 yo girl.

I'm trying to do this on the cheap after a rough financial year, so we're going to stay with family that lives just over an hour from the park.  We may stay in a hotel near the park for a night or two so we can do the fireworks and not drive home super late.  I haven't gone through this thread yet, but I'll be looking for must-do activities, a lower-end hotel that is not a dump, things we can skip or avoid for kids that are 8 and 4.

We plan to do a 4 day pass, (there is a deal right now for $100 per day).  My wife and I don't drink, and I remember Epcot being pretty meh, so we were just going to skip it and do Magic Kingdom twice, AK and Hollywood Studios one day each.

It sounds like the Genie pass is worth it to reserve ride times.  The restaurants are so pricey, it's hard to justify it since neither of my kids like food beyond dino nuggets and fast food burgers or pizza.  I'm sure they would enjoy the experience, but restaurants are a drag because they barely touch the food 90% of the time.  We'll probably do it a time or two and regret it.

I'll be packing up lunches and snacks which seems to be ok to bring into the park in a bag or something.

Once we get there, I'm sure it will be amazing, but I hate the build-up for a trip like this.  My wife and her sister are much better at planning this crap, but it's always good to have a surly POV so I know what's in store.

  6. That was a seriously underwhelming finale.  Either they played down Buddha's dishes to make it seem closer, or he tried to choke it away but won a war of attrition because of raw liver and whatever Gabri decided to fuck up and burn because that's his favorite.

Just got back. It was a lot longer than the first. Took my 7 and 4 year olds to a "Family Party" at that Drafthouse. 7 year old loved it, it was too long for the 4 year old.

It was fucking great for the 40 year old too.

This was my experience. Amazing movie but it would have been way more fun with just my oldest and not both him and the 4 year old.

  8. Zany sketch comedy is never going to work for everyone, and even the best versions have a lot of flops mixed in with the good stuff.  Think about Mr. Show, the best example I can think of.  There are lots of sketches and even episodes that I can do without, and for someone who is less into that kind of comedy, the hit to miss ration is even lower.

I enjoyed a lot of the sketches in the first season, but I had no idea how much some of the bits would stick with me.  Even ones I didn't laugh at originally, I would just randomly think of them later.  Like the guy who had all the leftover props from his failed mobster movie that he was trying to insert into the baby shower planning.  I think I watched it once, then like 6 months later thought about it out of the blue and laughed out loud at the thought of it.

It's not something I can explain, if it doesn't land for you, it just doesn't.  It's kind of pointless to try and convince someone a thing is funny when it may not even be that funny on the day it is watched.

  9. We still don't have an answer for any team with a fast player or two up top sending a diagonal ball past our deepest defender. We miss Vaisanen terribly.

I couldn't figure out how we never had a single player ready for a ball to ricochet off one of our defenders back out to the 18 or so. Or for that matter letting them take a corner straight to the middle of the field about 30 yards out with a dude waiting to blast a ball over the top of our clump of players. It felt like we were way too deep the whole game and they somehow never capitalized on wide open shots with no pressure.

    Stuver, holy shit my guy.

Zardes is so limited with his feet that he cannot receive a heavy ball with someone at his back. That should pretty much disqualify him from starting in this system but Urruti just disappears for the most part.  When Djeffal or one of our wings can field those long entry passes, we get things going.  Having Fagundez and Seb back should make some of this go away.

I like Djeffal, he is very comfortable passing thru some tight windows. He seems to be a beat slow to feel pressure at times, but he took better care than Pereira who is just maddening when he has games like this.

That was a very fortunate 3 points.

  10. So Vais is out with a groin injury and Ring went out last night and was holding his groin... Is that 6 groin injuries this year?  Wtf is happening with our groinins?

  11. The ads are all over chrome on my desktop too.  I just realized this as I had to turn off Ublock for a different reason, and on two systems the ads just flooded my browser while logged in.  I thought it was just on my phone, but that was just because i didn't have an adblocker on chrome for android.

Am I just delinquent on my tree fiddies?

  12. Agree that Lundkvist has shown some real value up the left side. I've been less impressed with him on the defensive end, but if we are moving to a back 3, that seems like less of a concern.

We played a great game defensively, and did enough on offense to get the win which is all that matters. I didn't look up xg, but it felt like we had a lot more clear chances in this match than in previous league outings.

I'm shocked that Toronto has the highest paid team in this league by a couple mil. They look so utterly mid, I think the announcers said something about them having a lot of injuries, so that might explain it.

I'm optimistic for working out way back into a playoff spot, but we have a long way to go before we can compete with any of the top teams.

ferrera is such a fucking spare. kicked a gorgeous through ball RIGHT at stuver and lucked into a meg goal. then does the messi/memphis celebration against a 10 man club. ferrera needs to be buried at FC frisco for his lifetime.

Yeah that celebration was fucking bullshit. I laughed out loud when I realized he, as the 9, was taking corners because he poses no threat in the air. He shanked another sitter too, I think, but I was trying to erase the memory of this game as it was happening.  What a miserable performance at every level.

We've regressed to where we were 2 years ago, just struggling to get the ball out of our third and into the midfield. The strategy of building from the back is a disaster if we can't find an open pass into the middle third after stretching the other team out.  We kept working it further back and then trying to go over their midfield and giving it away nearly every time. I guess Wolff is a pretty important player for us, or Dallas had a great strategy to force us into bad passes.

I know this season isn't completely lost yet, but yeah it is. Maybe a guy or two from FC II will be ready next year. Urruti, Zardes, and Bruin are all wasted spots with no future upside if we want to be better next year.  I didn't realize Rigoni is fucking 30 and Finlay is 32.  This roster is maddening.  0-4 against Dallas and Houston looks likely at this point.
