plenty of her constituents don’t want this stupid shit coming to their city.

I live in her district, and my impression is that many more want it, but those against, as usual, are making more noise.

I've seen this gif a million times, and I just noticed that the guy in black in the background does almost the exact same hand gesture as our favorite Jags fan, a few seconds later.

Perhaps they were both signaling to Q? Secret signal during a national televised football game...the ESPN cameraman in cahoots? Something big is coming! All will be revealed soon!

    Big news coming next week!

My theory is that since Houston has so much (many?) aggy everywhere that their general sense of inferiority and aggyness has infected the whole city mindset through the newspaper and talk radio that they dominate

The one and only time I went to a Texans game (in 2006), my buddy and I stopped at the concessions stand before heading to our seats after getting into the stadium, and there were not one but two guys in line in front of us wearing cowboy hats and aggy style denim overalls with shit written all over them (in maroon lettering), most of it stuff about the Cowboys.  My friend I went with is a big Texans fan and a UT grad, but that image is seared into my brain and will always define Texan fan for me.

    For sure.

Every single non-Bedlam OSU home game you can find numerous jagoff OU fans wearing their OU gear.  And it's usually grown-ass men wearing jerseys.  But we are the ones obsessed.  Right.

I can't think of a better example of "my life sucks balls so I will strut around in the gear of a successful program at an event that they are not associated with in the hopes that I can I be associated with at least one good/successful thing."

The exact same thing happens with t-shirt UT fans at Tech home games.

I think it's funny how us Tech fans have to congregate to a UT message board to discuss the going ons of our program. Our community needs a message board. RP sucks cocks.

You can say that again.  There are a few good posters on RP, but it's mostly mouth breathers who live down to the worst stereotypes of Texas Tech fandom.

  6. Bad QB play very arguably cost us 3-4 wins last year, and I'm afraid it may again this year.  (Bad place kicking also hurt, but that's more understandable, as our starting guy got hurt and most teams don't have two good PKs.)  It would be ironic if that's what ultimately gets Kliff fired, but then his rep for coaching QBs got him the job, so "live by the sword, die by the sword" I guess.

Is this a crazy stupid thought? What if Kliff does below average again and Gibbs gets promoted to HC?

I wouldn't be opposed to that.  Gibbs has far better credentials now than Kliff did when he was hired at Tech.

While I'm being a dick towards Tech, I guess it's just weird to me that a school with that many students and resources underachieves so much.

How has UT been doing with their resources?  In both cases, bad coaching decisions (i.e. bad hires, but also keeping Mac Brown too long in UT's case) has made for some bad football.  That's it, just like TCU has succeeded by finding a good coach and keeping him.

Time to start a new legacy.

    Period.

Agreed, but I'm not getting my hopes up.  I think if they let Hocutt make the call, he'd hire a pretty good coach, but I don't think he's the one calling the shots when it comes to football.

  10. I know what you're saying.  I did that the day Leach got fired (got drunk, but just watched cable sports news talking about it) and never have invested that much emotion in Tech football, or sports in general, ever again after that.

    Sooo... Sonny Dykes?

Yeah, he's probably the safest bet because he has head coaching experience at a P5 school.  I would also expect him to fare just about as well at Tech as Kliff has.

Sadly, the greatest night in Tech history.

Once that season ended, I put that one aside, i.e. I've never watched it again, though obviously it's hard to avoid seeing the one play by Crabtree.  I knew that it could very well turn into some kind of fetish object with a lot of Tech fans, and it has.

Personally, if we're going to move on from the past, Neal Brown isn't part of that solution...

    So you're probably 100% accurate.

The rift that keeps on giving...

I would really hope we hire someone who doesn't have direct ties to Leach (or Tuberville) when they fire Kliff, but I know that's exactly what they'll do.  The Tech big money guys who make these decisions really seem to want somebody who can run Leach's offense but has a docile, easy to control personality, so whoever's out there that's most like Kliff will be the next Kliff.

Wait wait wait... these guys can drink each other's blood but they can't drink a Coke?

As long as there is no alcohol in it, yes, human blood is acceptable for Mormon consumption.
