I'm too lazy to make a complete list, but throughout our last 15 years of misery there have been many teams that were successful even with their backup quarterback on the field. We lost quite a few games to backup QBs, and we've even seen teams win National Championships with backup QBs (Ohio State and Bama). So here's how I see it: Our head coach is apparently "The QB Whisperer", and our backup QB is a guy that's been on campus and learning from this "QB Whisperer" for almost two full calendar years (Maalik enrolled in January 2022). If we can't successfully navigate this situation and win at least 4 out of the next 5 games against BYU, KState, TCU, Iowa St, and TTU (all of whom are having down years), then Sark is not the answer and the sad reality is that we will probably never be a relevant football program ever again. Yes, I still want us to win out and get to the CCG, but I think 4 out of 5 is the realistic bar considering that would give us our first 10-win season since we fired Mack. I'm not happy Quinn got hurt, but I'm at least somewhat excited to see what we really have in Sark as far as quarterback development is concerned. Our remaining schedule is soft as baby shit, so if he is as advertised we're going to be just fine.
You may want to check out some of Kansas State's more recent results, since they've included Avery Johnson in their QB rotation.

Just missed it by 4 yards.
When UH punted out of bounds later in the game, they missed that by about as much. The ball hit way OOB at the 42, rig 12 refs spotted at the 42. Should have been about 46 or 47, imo (couldn't really tell where from TV - but horrible spot).

Malik Will starts since Quinn is out with a broken collarbone. Good luck to him; we gonna need it.

Duncanville led Skyline 35-3 at the half.

To revive this thread, how about a look at our Big XII scheduling vs Cougar High this one academic year we are forced to cohabitate with those losers:
Soccer Away Volleyball Away x2 Football Away Men's Basketball Home & Away Women's Basketball Away Women's Tennis Away Baseball Away Softball ??? Anyone want to guess where we will end up playing them in softball?
I'm so done with this petty BS. I never thought I would look forward to being in the SEC, but here we are.
Dude needs to eat shit and die...in a pasture so that the buzzards can pick his carcass. jmo

This is a panoply of aggie tropes all wrapped up in one glorious post.
-it’s too early to fire jimbo (in year 6) - check
-alludes unrelated and dated coaching decisions in other sports and eras - check
-makes a favorable comparison to shitty SEC programs that haven’t been nearly as good as referenced Big 12 programs - check
-speaks wistfully of an alternate universe in which ATM has a perfect record - check - they do this every fucking year!
-condescends people about age while being the stereotypical old aggie who is so comfortably indoctrinated into being a loser that he can’t even fathom why the youngins are demanding change - check
-next year is the year! - check
-disingenuously paints the team as really young even though they’re only starting one freshman on either side of the ball and have 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th year players all over the field. - check
The guy damned near covered every base with that post.
The one that gets me the most is #3 where he says that don't "get to play" Ok State, but rather "have to play" SCar and Arky. That's an epic WTF amonngst the legion of WTFs.

Soooooooooooo I guess no National Champion date on that trophy again this year, Jimbo?
The date should have the 20XX crossed out, with "Next Year" inserted

Yep, all these verbal aggys committed because of the winning tradition in College Station. They’ll be leaving any day now…
The end of Florida's schedule looks ripe for poaching

Mansfield started this season 5-0 but got blown out by Cedar Hill and last night Duncanville outgained them 431-40. The Tigers managed 1 first down the entire game. 51-0 final after it was 44-0 at the half
People talk about 83 Daingerfield, 85 Yates and the Kyler Murray Allen teams as the best ever. This Duncanville team may be the best.
A long way to go, so I'd tap the brakes a little. They were ahead 30-0 at the end of Q1, and didn't touch the ball in Q3 as Mansfield had the ball with the clock running... the entire quarter.

We need to stop returning kickoffs. A fair catch and taking possession at the 25 is better than a 15.4 yard return, unless the return starts with a catch at the ten yd line. That should be the benchmark - do not return unless you catch at the ten. Short kickoffs like that are few and far between, and the fair catch eliminates most penalties.

Big 12 and PAC 2 hold a mirror under the applicants nose. If that mirror has any fog/condensation they're hired.
Tbf, the Rig 12 does like to see prior convictions on your resume.

So, for real....it's been a long time since I've attended the game. I usually hop over to I-45, so I'm approaching the fair from the Southeast, through that neighborhood. Used to park on the field behind James Madison High school, I understand that's not in play any longer. So...where to park over there that's reasonably safe/won't get my car windows busted in?
FYI, I called Madison HS & their JROTC is still parking, first come first served.

I listened to a long preview with Sooner regard Gabe Ikard.
He stated he was 3-1 against Texas at least 5 dozen times.
After verbally blowing Venables for being on time to press conferences this season(dafuq?!), he gave his thoughts on Texas.
He’s not impressed with the Texas offense. Basically said we’re screwed if we can’t hit the deep or rip off a long run. He used some bullshit PFF metric to explain that we don’t run the ball well consistently. I’d say we ran the ball pretty damned consistently on that 7 minute drive to seal the Bama game.
On defense, he alluded to Sorrell being a trash edge rusher. Said we don’t have any on the edge that can get after the QB. Most of skipped the good parts of the Bama game. He begrudgingly admitted to Sweat and Murphy being a problem inside. He was really impressed with Sweat’s agility, and Murphy’s push on passing downs. Likes our secondary. Never mentioned Ford.
He very reluctantly acknowledged Texas is the more talented team, but OU could win if they force Ewers into mistakes and take away the big play. Also reluctantly admitted Texas isn’t soft. He said Sark’s pregame warm ups are the most intense he’s ever seen.
He’s completely bought in :
- Gabriel being an elite, elite QB. You just don’t score 40 on Iowa State in the first half!
- He declared Venables has fixed the defense. Well, that was quick.
- Texas only won last year because Gabriel was hurt.
In summary, Ikard sucks worse than James Hale.
Guess maybe I should bet on the Horns.

If you want to see some funny shit, go look at Ohio State for the last 5 classes. Check out their OL takes versus what they do at WR, DB and DL. When they meet up with good DLs, get run over and then wonder what the fuck happened, it's rarely mentioned that they're recruiting OL like they're Miami of Ohio and not Ohio State. I expect it to happen this year against Michigan and PSU, at the least. But, hey, another top 5 class for Ohio State!

Give the points and take the under here. QE throws 20 times max.I'll take the over on 20 passes for the Horns.
