Right, clearly the solution is goon squads in unmarked cars grabbing them off the streets!   With 20 or 30 normal cops standing guard in spandex with  bicycles.

Undercover police make arrests all the time.  I suppose they could have tried to track her all day and try to get her alone or hope to track her to her home.  Seems like a lot more wasted police resources.

Someone used the term "normal" above, we are not in normal times.

People swarmed that van.  If you arrested her normally, it might take 10-15 minutes, what is the situation going to be like then?

  2. Based on the small amount we know now,  I'm not sure I would vote him guilty.

Putting myself in his situation, in that short amount of time, if I saw myself being surrounded, I would reach for a gun if I had one.

If I saw a person with a rifle in that position  I would fear for my life.  I would try to drive off, but if people were in front of my car, I may be scared enough to shoot the guy with the rifle.

at some point we need to have a separate conversation about john cusack's career over the past decade.

    I thought that looked familiar.

I watched the original one(I think just the first season, being on BBC or something, I forgot about it, so maybe not wonderful)  I thought it was good, it was an interesting plot.

I just looked, I think the original is on Amazon Prime.

I'm happy to agree or disagree, but I'd be interested to see the specifics on your disagreement.

Is there something I don't understand about BLM?

Nothing in your link provides evidence for the section in bold. It is 100% your own conclusion drawn almost entirely from your own desire for such a framing.

This movement has been characterized as violent insurrection by mainstream media at large, and right-wing media specifically, since early June.

True, I should have stated IMHO.  But support went up after Floyd's murder.  It has since declined, so that is my assumption.

The Congressional EMP Commission, since disbanded, spent eight years developing a plan to protect all infrastructures from EMP – a plan that would also mitigate threats from cyber-attack, sabotage, and natural disasters that could be implemented in 3-5 years at a cost of $10-20 billion.
The Congressional EMP Commission estimated in 2008 it would cost $2 billion to harden the grid’s critical nodes (i.e., roughly 2,000 large and medium-sized transformers and their associated SCADA systems, etc.).  Modest when compared with the unimaginably high costs associated with trying to remediate after an EMP event.  Yet, it has been an excuse for inaction.

Time is of the essence and funding is vital. Securing the grid can be done at a reasonable cost in comparison to the destruction if an EMP attack were to take place. It is estimated that a massive EMP event could cause over $2 trillion in damages.

I don't think we have funded this, and we've known about EMPs for a decade. 20b vs. 2trillion seems like a no brainer, and 2 trillion  is just a number compared to the lives effected.

  6. This was a fun read.

    https://www.amazon.com/Second-After-John-Matherson-Novel/dp/0765327252

Forstchen based his research for One Second After on the 2004 bipartisan Congressional study of the potential threat to the continental United States from an EMP attack: Report of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack. Drawing on this and other government and private studies, Forstchen explores by fiction what might happen in a "typical" American town in the wake of an attack on the United States with electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) weapons.[2] Forstchen has been invited to make presentations regarding the threat of EMP before members of Congress, and at STRATCOM, Sandia Labs, and NASA.

  7. So, The last 2 weeks were sort of depressing, b/c I didn't notice much difference, I only lost 3 lbs on the cleanse.  The rest of my symptoms were about the same.

I got my $300 GI DNA  map test results back.

    https://www.diagnosticsolutionslab.com/tests/gi-map

I am pretty high in Difficile Toxin A and Helicobacter pylori

Now that we know the specific bacteria, we are treating that.

Hopefully the new supplements  do their job, killing bacteria, and help healthy bacteria grow, where I was low, along with my continued strict diet.

I was told I can start introducing a new food every 3 days.  I am sort of weary, b/c my symptoms haven't changed much, but he stated I should notice a big difference if I eat eggs or something.

I miss eggs most.  I was never a fan of sweets, so the nix sugar thing hasn't been effecting me.

I have been making jerky every week, but if I eat too much I think it fucks with me.

So hard not to eat the whole 4lbs(2lbs dehydrated?) in a couple of sittings.

I got my first Chiropractor adjustment.  I had seen videos of lots of cracks, I just had a few.

I didn't feel too much at the time, but I feel looser now, a little sore.

On my next checkup in 2 weeks he will "adjust me" more and I am going to try their Acupuncturist.

So, I am throwing everything at my symptoms(GI,Depression,Anxiety,Energy), I might not know what really helps(does chiropractor and acupuncture help?), but I know the nutrition/diet/supplements should, And I will figure it all out later.  I just want to feel better asap.

I'm looking at the YMCA, Golds Gym and Planet Fitness for a gym. (I live central).  They aren't too expensive, but hopefully they will help me get motivated.

YMCA is $50, Golds is $30, Planet Fitness is 23 or 10.

I need to tour Ymca town lake to see what they offer now.

Golds has free Yoga and other classes, I have never done yoga, but want to try, I am between downtown and Ben White, so that is the most promising.

(I used to be a member at Golds(Little field Mall)  way back when they had a racquetball court, good times.)

Planet fitness is cheap and has massage and tanning, but not sure if you want that in covid.

I probably just talked myself into Golds Gym, unless I see free boxing classes or something at YMCA Town Lake.

If you belong to one of these, please give me your feedback.
