On that note.
anyone have the low down on what to watch next for a samurai fix ?
️🪭️🫖
Good suggestions above.
One of my favorites is based in “modern” late 90s Japan.
The Hunted(1995), staring Christopher Lambert and John Lone.
Basically American businessman in Japan meets a woman, they spend the night together in their hotel, he accidentally walks in on a ninja assassination. They begin hunting him, a kendo master who is the last in the line of a samurai clan in a life long feud with the Ninja Clan steps in to protect him.
Kodo (the taiko drum group) did the soundtrack.
It’s a movie I loved as a teenager. I still quote plenty of lines from the movie to this day.
Plus you get to see Joan Chen topless.
Plus plus because I went to see what else they have been in. Lady Mariko from the 1980 shogun plays Samurai Takeda’s wife and archer.- 1

that Death Poem wasn't winning many awards. lol.
My wife and I had to pause it we busted out laughing so hard -
Subtly good finale.
Great show, never read the book but I do feel robbed of an episode of the boat ride to Osaka.- 1
-
That was a wide open match.
A far call from the Mou-Pep bloodfests- 1
-
Just finished Manhunt and I thought it was fantastic. Great acting by Crosby (Masters of the Air) and the guy who played Stanton.
Maybe the book is better, but I’ve never been more motivated to convict some traitors.
About to watch the finale in a bit.
Love this show -
Anyone else’s stream going crazy on the app?
-
Also separate question, how many of yall that like this show have seen Scorsese’s movie Silence?
I just learned of it this weekend and wonder if it’s any good and worth a watch if the wife and I love Shogun…- 1

Anna Sawai should, at the very least, be nominated for some awards.
The secrecy and veil of ninja have multiplied with time, when in fact you can visit the two provinces in Japan, where their history is said to originate from. As for them being entirely disgraceful, I don't know. Covert is a better description and it would be the manner in which they were used that would be disgraceful or not. Hattori Hanzo, is after all, considered to be one of the more well known Shinobi.
My understanding was that Oni no Hanzo was a distinguished Samurai serving Tokugawa Ieyasu directly.
And would engage in guerilla warfare and covert attacks leading ninjas on these raids. .
But my understanding is far from fully knowledgeable -
Real v. City is basically OU v. A&M. There are no winners. It’s basically who do I want to see lose. And yeah, it’s City. As much as it pains me that Real moves on. Now gotta cheer for Bayern and PSG to knock off Real. Very doubtful.
And next year, Real gets Mbappe, Endrick, and Davies.
Hala Madrid! -
Whew!
On to Bayern.
Hala Madrid!!!
I still hate PKs -
God I hate PKs…
I’m gonna be sick
It is funny to hear Hey Jude while Bellingham is there!- 1

One who is a Samurai must before all things keep constantly in mind, by day and by night...
the fact that he is going to die.
As to the tapping, I took it as timing of the assault waves. Between the first wave to cleanse the protectors and then the next to move in and capture/kidnap Mariko.
I’m assuming capture to prevent both her seppuku and her return to Toranaga. This removing Ishido’s “holding everyone hostage” and letting the new found boldness to leave.
I haven’t read the book or watched the 1980s show. I believe Mariko is Lady Gracia whose suicide fueled the fall of Osaka and rise of the Edo period.
Dang I really love this show.
Now I want to go rewatch the Hunted -
I always thought ninjas were a Chinese thing, not a Japanese thing. Just me?
Shinobi were Japanese.
Considered the dishonorable way by samurai since their roles was usually covert and mercenary in nature. Also their whole premise was to work in secrecy -
Fuck man…
That whole episode was dusty in my house- 1

Couldn’t have been a better afternoon as a Madrid fan.
Atleti out, Barca toasted!
Now to stress out about tomorrow at UAE stadium… -
Can’t watch now!!! NOOOOO!
Everyone is tied, it’s pandemonium! -
Looked pretty clear to me, stopped a clear goal scoring op.
This is gonna be a wild ride to end. 10v11 and Dembele makes it 4-3 aggregate going into the 2nd half
Also Dortmund score 2 to make it 3-2 agg against Atleti.
Wild rides today- 2

I don't feel like looking back through the thread to see if this was answered so someone explain the individual vs. trust thing with suppressors.
Short version:
Individual is assigned to me. I have to be in constructive possession of it.
Trust is assigned to everyone in said trust. Anyone on the trust can be in possession of nfa item.
There are more legalese than that but that’s the short -
3 or 4 years ago there was a bobcat contest in the Abilene area. Some young fellas I’m vaguely familiar with were calling in Bob’s between Lawn and Tuscola when a 170-ish pound cat damn near ran them over to get to the speaker.
The year after we lost our lease in Graford (so 2018 I believe) a high school kid smoked a 200 pound cat on his way to school about a mile from the front gate of the lease we used to be on.
Cats are out there, but like Baba said you aren’t seeing them unless they slip up.
My BiL just this past year+ bought some land out in graford, I still need to get out there and pop some hogs. -
Does your wife remember what happened to his great-grandson?
Hah yes,
she just really liked his character in the show.
As did I, he was old school badass and had been some good comedy. “Lord Toronaga resigns… for personal reasons.” And the 9 whacks line when Toronaga was attempting to 2nd his adversary…
The grandson-in-law, great grandson part was impactful but so early we didn’t have emotional ties to them. That made Fuji’s pain and suffering and service tough. -
I saw a clip of Herbstreit saying they'd have different commentary crews in dynasty that would be based on the importance of the game.
Never understood why only EA NCAA basketball had the ESPN weekday crew with vitale and the CBS crew for weekend games. EA FIFA eventually followed suit and put in league announcers and cup announcers, FIFA eventually included the proper presentation graphics for the main leagues as well.
It’d be cool to have big10/12 games covered by Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt, ESPN have their tier 2 and 1 broadcasters and CBS crew for SEC games. -
Jeesh episode 8 hurt…
My wife was super pissed at the Hiromatsu scene… I just kept saying that’s going too far to convince a spy that you are submitting…. Heartbreaking scene
We were both saying damn that badass cold-blooded during the tea scene.
This show has been amazing -
Where are these games being broadcast?
EDIT: nevermind. I’m an idiot looking all over cable stations and I see now it is on CBS.
CBS, paramount+ and tudn stream champions league games. -

I didn’t watch the game, I thought double jeopardy was only when it was the keeper who committed the foul in the box.
But then I don’t know all the rules all the time
