I fully understand that CDC doesn't ultimately make the call for the powers that be on football HCs. That complex hierarchy of decision making is the very reason I'm reluctant to see Sark fired. LSU's issue, while of a different causation in some ways illumate the fucked up aspects of deciding on a head coach and Texas is not immune. CDC is, however, the point man on communication to Sark to voice the displeasure and demands of those in the complex Texas system. Hence, I was using CDC as a representation of all those aspects, which I thought I had pointed out in prior posts on this thread in directly. Clearly, I didn't and so, now I am.

Firing anyone is a much more expensive and painful process than getting them to correct the errors they are making in their job. The problems with Sark are concentrated primarily around the offensive aspects and his yes men in that group don't help. CDC is very smart and so are the powers behind him, as such they know the issues too. Forcing the best OC upon him is the easiest potential fix. Finding a new HC much more difficult. Something has to be done or it will end up with a Florida/LSU/PSU sort of situation at some point in the future which is far more problematic that forcing Sark to take his lumps now. For Sark, getting fired isn't gonna be great for his future job opportunities. Though it is football coaching which is its own weird protective racket. Jerry would probably embrace him with open arms as a new puppet to sell more tickets and swag.
