Ignorant take a negged. TOF isn’t only focused on football. OU organized for softball ahead of every other program and kudos to them, but plenty are doing work and TOF and other Texas efforts are putting in work. If you want to step in and back stop Texas softball NIL to match OU, please fucking do it. Otherwise, go fuck yourself.

He told people to donate to TOF and you lose your shit while telling him to donate to TOF. Genius!

  2. Coop getting some run. He had his best outing in his start against Cedar Creek in the playoffs. Complete game 1 hit shutout. Drip got bounced the next game. Now he is running through the summer circuit. I am convinced we never see him on campus. He went to a Padres deal in Dallas last week. He was one of 3 high-school kids there. Tcehs entire infield was there among other college kids.  Definitely on the mlb radar.

  3. He doesn't cuss. He says I am suss, selling, my play I ran was cap. Among other shit I have no idea what he is talking about. I do know I just lost by 3 TD to fucking Carolina when I was the Bills. Then he told me he didn't want to play me until I learned how to play.

I told him he is walking to practice tomorrow. He looked me dead in the eye and said "bet"

I don't know what is going on anymore.

  5. We are starting allstars next week. My oldest son has played 3 seasons ever (all 12u) and went from clueless, to the best pitcher and fielder on his team. He spent the last year and a half in the backyard every night with his brother it feels like. It got to the point where I was demanding they take nights off. All that work paid off though.

He made the allstar team in his final year so we get to sweat our asses off all June. I agree, there is something so pure about little league.  Going to miss it. My youngest refuses to go back and wants to stay in select. Fmwallet.

Question for my Austin brethern - we're looking to play our last tournament in the Austin area and make it our "destination" trip for the year. We'd like to get a place somewhere near the potential venues, so asking what parks/location do yall typically play at?

We're typically 10U AAA, Perfect Game tournaments.

That division played at Lake Travis Field of Dreams this weekend. Previous tournament we played in that had 10u aaa was henly FOD. If you can wait till Wednesday/Thursday you would be smart. If you book out west and then play in Manor, you will be pissed.

DM me what location you end up at, my 9u son is playing next weekend and might be at the same facility. If so, I want to see what he needs to do next year in 10u to be worthy of a top team. If we both are at Henly, I will buy you a beer.

  7. I am still coaching rec league. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! Got voted as the Allstars head coach. I love coaching so it is a chance to keep playing and coach some more kids. Setup my team with all the best pitchers and hitters I could. Pretty sure we are 10 deep pitching. Got 3 catchers as well. Never coached kid pitch Allstars, but I am sure pitching will be key based on my select ball experience.

I called in all favors and got a bunch of awesome sponsors. Got the boys custom boombas bags, helmets, batting gloves and a bunch of other goodies. Working to get fees to zero for the parents. I am enjoying one last run coaching before both my boys are in the select system.

Looking forward to sweating my ass off in June and hopefully coaching these boys to the top of the mountain.  If anyone else has kids in centex Allstars, reach out and we can trash talk each other! Or laugh at me for sucking as a coach!

I'm a woman.  :: gestures towards profile pic::  He definitely taught us (my sisters and I..me?  Grammar🥴) as we bought our homes...just kind of took for granted that he'd always be available for questions.  We buried him a year ago today.  💙

Ok now I feel bad. You are a young woman asking a legitimate question. Glad you could get it fixed and now you know the deal. I didn't look at profile pic.  Hookem

    Architectural?  Engineering?

Engineering. I have 8 ACC drafters in my group on payroll right now. 3 are too new to know, 3 are hopefully about to turn the corner, 1 has become a top designer and Rockstar in 3 years and 1 is on the payroll bc they show up and work hard. They don't all hit and a bunch get trained up and go take 20k more then they are worth. I pride myself on starting their careers. If they can get someone to pay wayy too much, I love it. The good ones I lock up. We opened a new office several years ago and one of the office managers is an ACC grad I taught and placed there. Company wide we may have 20+ ACC people. Everyone needs a chance.

Some folks just can't help themselves from spending other people's money.  I'm all for community college and agree with the general notion that an educated populace is a benefit to everyone, but Austin property owners are already being robbed blind to fund white suburban jesus districts across the state at the expense of our own public school children.  When is enough, enough?  I'm not convinced we're really getting a return on our investment with ACC.  Maybe the new nursing degree program will provide some community benefit, but free tuition for all from a city school with a 100 fucking percent acceptance rate is pointless unless we're firing 90% of the administrative roles.  If they can manage to truly limit this to local high school graduates who don't really attend UT and use ACC for free basic requirements, it might not be too expensive.  I'd like to see a serious tuition hike for nonresidents who come here just to attend ACC (yes that happens and we'll be flooded with them if they can find a loophole to get the free tuition), as well as non-full time students, i.e. UT and Texas State kids getting cheap credits.

tl/dr The Austin community would be better served shuttering ACC completely and finding a way to funnel those funds into AISD.

As someone who has hired multiple ACC graduates, I disagree. They are a crucial pipeline for CAD drafters that flat don't exist without them. I can't find drafters that are worth a shit without my ACC pipeline.

  11. This thread is the exact reason I make my boys watch me fix absolutely everything. If they call me with this issue and need help when they are older, I will drive over and give them some help. Jesus christ man.
