  1. Took 12yo daughter to see Hearts Beat Loud yesterday and today we all went kayaking in Puget Sound for a couple hours. Had a great beer with lunch, then had afternoon delight when we got home. Finished off the day by hanging with a buddy and his kids at their pool then heading home and playing fetch with my dog. Fucking great day, man.

You shoulda tried this:  "That ice cream looks good.  I really admire how hard you're going to work to eat that and keep within your diet.  And you're looking especially thin today.  You must be doing something right!"

Fuck that. Don't say shit. She a grown woman. She know when she's getting thick and when she's getting fat. Keep your mouth shut unless you feel compelled to tell her that her weight is a problem for your relationship.

  3. This comes up all the time b/c I live in a place with infrastructure for a tenth of the current population. Sitting at a green light but traffic is backed up from the next light. The right thing to do is not enter the intersection until you know you can clear it so as not to impede cross traffic when the light changes. 100% of the time some dickhole will turn right from the cross street adding to the congestion and preempting my right of way.

Just started Seven Eves. Love it. Maybe to detailed for some but I'm really enjoying. I hope it finishes as strong as it started.

It really finishes strong. Probably my favorite book of his. That or Anathem.

One of my other favorites was not one of his traditional books either

set in the 80s about a Native American USAF pilot who was shot down in Siberia.

The walking drum for me. As for the LL Westerns Comstock lode is great. More colonial than Western but To The Far Blue Mountains and Jubal Sackett are too five for me.

I never thought I would see a player that would compare to Jordan in my lifetime, then there were two close together in Kobe & LeBron...

(But in all honesty, I don't think Curry will last as long as either of the two I just mentioned)...

Kobe not even in the discussion. Come on.

Welcome neighbor, come on over the water is fine. I said this before and I will say it again. I am a huge Jordan fan, as most people my age are, but I always told myself that I would never be the old man still clinging to his heroes the way I saw guys doing when Jordan was playing back when WE were young. That said this guy is the best player I have ever seen. He is as good offensively as anyone has ever been, but it's his other abilities that are what put him over the top. The ridiculous passing. The ability to know when you need to affect a game, and how you need to do it. Last night Jordan or Kobe would've saw that his teammates didn't have it, kept jacking, and they would've lost. Lebron came out and tried to get his teammates going. When he saw they didn't have it he went to work and kept them in striking distance, then he came back to them when the game and nerves settled down. That is exactly what Houston needed the other night, and something taken for granted by the casual fan.

People who want Jordan to continue to be Goat will always point to the Finals record. However it IS a team sport, and your success depends on your teammates and who you are playing. I look at it like this. Jordan's Bulls beat everyone they were supposed to beat. Lebron's legacy will always have the 2011 smudge on it, but it will also have 2016 on it as well, something Jordan never did.

Kobe's team would have lost with him playing hero ball, not sure about Jordan's. That said, MJ was never asked to carry a boat load of scrubs like this to the finals. Mad respect to Lebron for this season and especially playoff run. Puts him over the top for me.

  8. FUUUUUUCK. Wife was in charge of trip planning. Tried to save $6 ($2/day) by using the cheapest airport parking lot. I knew when we parked it was a shitshow. Shit is not even paved. Land at 9:30, at 10:45 still no sign of shuttle. Take an uber to the lot ($13) to discover that BOTH SIDES OF MY FUCKING CAR GOT DINGED. Same fucking company has a covered garage for $3/day more. And we saw a shuttle for the covered lot every 5 minutes.

It's just rice bro, not raw chicken.

Fuck that. Rice soaking in tepid water is the perfect culture medium for bacteria, particularly Staph aureus. S. aureus produce enterotoxins which are resistant to enzyme and heat degradation. Meaning if it's on the cooking surface and you cook it, you didn't get rid of the risk.

  10. I will say that if the Cavs win it all this year LBJ will have sealed the GOAT debate for me. His team is full of scrubs. Love is a decent stretch 4 who is an abject disaster on defense. And he's their number 2 guy.

Your wife should never assist you in running heavy equipment.  Attached a 12" auger to the 3-point.  She assisted in lowering the attachment while I guided it on the ground.  She slammed it down, bit got caught (heavy clay), PTO on auger fried.

I thought you got divorced? who's the guy in Galveston that hated his wife?

Nah, top 100 really isn't.  According to the rankings the Knicks were a notch below title contender level in their very best season (92-93).   When we are comparing them to all time teams that isn't anything special.

And seriously if the chart I provided doesn't give you an illustration of the difference in opponents and the matchups each faced then nothing will and there really is no need to discuss it further.    You posted the link and still don't understand what it shows.

LOL. You are the one arguing that a team ranking that shows every title team with Jordan was a top 10 all time team means that Jordan wasn't as impactful as LBJ. The team included MJ. That's why they were so much better than everyone. The data argues AGAINST your point.

If you want to make a cogent argument, at least look at win shares. LBJ leads MJ in that category. But of course that stat would put Karl Malone above both of them, so ...
