  1. Spieth and Reed will play together.  They're already tied for the most points by a US team in Ryder Cup history.  May split them for a session, but they're playing together.. They don't get along.. never really have.. it's why they are so good together.  Internally, they are trying to beat the shit out of each other.

The Euros set the course up to neutralize our bombers. Lots of irons and fairway metals off the tee. Definitely a 2nd shot golf course. Looks cool though. Will be a great for spectators. Lots of amphitheaters

Why do the Euros think we can't strike a golf ball?  It's ridiculous.  What the US Team has a problem with is slow greens.  The Euro Tour plays on shitty, slow greens every week and we don't.

  3. Match play is the truest form of golf.  I hate that we have almost completely gone away from it in the US.  Maybe the first couple of playoff events are used as qualifiers and the final is match play.  It would actually make you have to win to win the Fed Ex Cup.

The entire movie is filmed in Austin. The opening scene was filmed on Metric blvd. You can literally see the UT JJ Pickle research center in multiple shots

The car of a dude I worked with at Golfsmith is in that scene.  It's the car Peter sees the old mad with the cane walk by.  Nothing special about that really except if you notice the car is a POS, but there is a BMW emblem on the back.. When he found out they were using his car, he went out and stole a bunch of emblems and mounted them on his car.. He had all kinds of shit on it.  fucking weirdo.

I may understand golf stats less than anyone in the world but I have to think Spieth's scrambling makes that tee to green stat look a lot better than it is, dude has no clue where his drives are going and it fucks with his head. Hell, try reaching back for a little extra off the tee with a crooked left arm, there's no way in hell to be consistent doing that. In my 50 years of watching golf on tv I can only remember one guy that did this and that's Calvin Peete, but he couldn't straighten his left arm and he didn't have to play these long ass courses of today. just my opinion

His bent left arm and extremely weak left hand is why he is one of the best ball strikers in the game of golf.  There's virtually no flip through impact.

I always loved that Weiland got shit on for being in funk bands in San Diego before going "Grunge".  But somehow the fact that Vedder came up in funk bands... in San Diego... didn't matter.

The "office" was actually in south Austin near Woodward and St Elmo. I know that some of it was shot in the Dallas area as well.

Chotzky's was actually the Alligator Grill on South Lamar (not sure what is in that building now).

Golfsmith bought the cubicles after filming and we used them for years.  It was surreal to actually sit in those cubicles and have office space "experiences".

  8. The first year they had the featured group coverage at The Masters, they didn't have commentators.. It was just golfer.. caddy.. patrons.. birds.. and background.. It was the most intense golf I've ever seen once the leaders where nearing the end on Sunday..  It's been a shit show ever since.

  9. I've never liked Phil..  I've pretty much always hated him since I met him.  With that being said I've actually warmed to him recently and I don't think he needs to be crucified for this.  He has a weird sense of humor and I think he was trying to be funny being that he was out of the tournament.  It's just a fucking game.. It's not like when Daly did that shit out of anger.  I do think he'll WD though and I think the rule will get changed because of this.

Every aspect of this tournament is inferior to the masters. The broadcast, the crowds, the setup, the hospitality tents. Such a shame.

Well.. Augusta does host it every year, so that might be a bit easier to get right.

  11. I've played in some tournaments where they've run the green speeds at 13 and placed pins on slopes where the putt would roll back to your feet 20 to 30 feet from the hole.. so, if I ever see a pin placement like that again, I'm pulling a Phil.  Cheating?  Not sure.. but I have no patience for idiotic course setups.

It’s not the course, it’s the USGA setup. The course is great.

One of the best courses on the planet.  I don't understand why the USGA thinks they can cut the greens like that on a sand based course.  It's 100 feet of sand below those greens.  You can't control the moisture.. The scary part is the grass is gone.  It's pretty much dead... so trying to get the greens back tomorrow isn't happening.  It's going to be a bumpy ride tomorrow.
