watching the press conferences of her teams from the wcws was wild. it was like watching a cult be interviewed. every single player basically credited god and jesus and faith for their unbelievable success. every answer to every question was about faith and jesus and god. it was very strange to watch.

For some there is nothing strange about it.

Quit carrying water for the pussy who sucker punched him.  I can't believe so many of you are defending that piece of shit.  It would have been one thing if one of those two guys in front of him had done it.

The dude that hit him was in front of him.

He had quality starts against Washington and Baylor, both games where the lead was coughed up in the late innings.

But yes, I get your point. There isn’t anyone to insert into the rotation in this place. Maybe you can push him back a day or two but you have to ride with him.

Not that he was stellar last year, but the drop off/regression this year with Pierce as the "pitching coach"...well...

    Wrong thread dude.

But seriously, as others have noted, declaring a public emergency isn't a big deal - it's a way to get more people/services online with a lot less red tape.

Food/Gas really isn't going to be an issue for locals. They can stock up right now and be good for the event. Gas - fill up early.

Eclipse glasses - just read them, if they are ISO 12312-2, they should be fine. The "tests" she ran don't mean crap.

What about computers crashing?  Had a guy today cancel a Teams meeting Monday because he says computers are going to crash during the eclipse.  And he was dead serious.

Hand wringing over a solution to the homeless “problem” always cracks me up.

Houses get built when someone thinks they can profit from doing so. No one profits from building houses for people who can’t pay. So they don’t get built.

There are only two possible solutions: 1) steal money from your electorate (taxes) to pay builders enough so they can make a profit and will build, or 2) steal money from your electorate (taxes) and build it yourself. There is no other answer.

But people are people and like to fuck chickens and wring hands and grandstand to get votes and so on and so on. So here we are.

Or a city could buy a few hotels...

  6. I'm not sure I'd call that a sucker punch.  Dude was pretty much in front of him, too the side a little maybe.  Grabbed him by the collar, turned him, and hit him.

Sucker punch to me is from the side completely unseen.

    Pesos or usd? Or both?

    Also which place to stay?

We take pesos.  They accept US most everywhere, but add a markup to it.

Aluxes is our go to.  We don't do the full all inclusive, just breakfast.  Too many good food options on the island to not get out and about.

My favorite is that it hit a load-bearing pylon, making it suspicious,  when in reality every single fucking pylon for that bridge was load bearing.

I'm pretty sure the birds - the ones that aren't real - are definitely involved in this.

  9. Guess I'm in the minority that just doesn't get this.  Seen plenty of them in my life - partial or full, solar and lunar.  Was a teaching event when I was a kid in school, not a reason to cancel and issue disaster declarations.  4 minutes long and heard today someone planning to drive 30 hours from Washington to see it.  Seems crazy.

And watch us end up with thunderstorms all day anyway.

Stephanie Ketchum on B95 FM? She is married to my buddy, such a cool chick.

Seriously, the guy I stay with in Leander during hurricane evacuations - he was driving on the Lake Charles bridge on the way to a fraternity formal in New Orleans when a piece of steel beam flew off the truck in front of him, through his window, and ripped his face and scalp off. He was hospitalized for 6 months. He had great reconstructive surgeons.

I still white knuckle that bridge on my way to Baton Rouge, but my wife refuses. She will take the Veteran’s Bridge but refuses to take the Rainbow.

Lot of people in Lake Charles will not drive that bridge.  They are convinced it's going to come down at any time.

  11. Not sure what it is, but sure it isn't a copperhead.  We shoot them just about every weekend when at the ranch between mid May and early July, and positive that isn't one.

Lots of jokes but the oceans are beyond stressed from pH to temperature to plastics the oceans are turbo fucked. They are irritated and hungry. They are the apex predator so they are lashing out. Put it in the “Duh” category. It’s sad, predictable and reversible, but we don’t give a shit.

Not disagreeing about the ocean issues, but orcas have always been this way.
