This has been driving me insane.  Why they field anything inside the 10 is beyond me.

I don't remember the coverage team being that close to Worthy. He should have let it go.

Conversely, he has let the ball hit the ground more often than not this year away from the goal line. Resulting in loss of field position.  He's obviously dynamic with the ball in his hands but his decision making on fielding punts this season has been pretty bad.

Instead of hitting it up in the hole and putting a hat on the LB we double-teamed the DT and left the LB completely unblocked.

    Bad execution.

The thing that stands out to me from this screenshot is how OU has moved the los to our backfield. Getting beat at the point of attack.

I would have liked to see a play action pass to anybody as aggressively as OU was attacking the los on the goal line.

We need possessions more than field position.

Agreed, but it’s been a problem all year. They are giving up a lot of field position. Shouldn’t be too much to ask to field the punt in the air. Might come back to bite them at some point. Certainly didn’t matter in this game.

  4. I haven't had chance to watch the team much this year but caught the match last night.  The biggest drop off, imo, is the chemistry between Swindle and the hitters. Timing just isn't there yet, but that will continue to get better.

Passing is an issue, but when is it not with Elliot's teams.  As bad (and it was bad) as the passing looked in the first set last night, to their credit, they cleaned it up and passed pretty well the rest of the match.

Just a lot of inconsistent play overall, from passing to setting to blocking.  As has been mentioned, not surprising with new and transfer players coming in this year.  I think they will continue to improve throughout the season and will be quite dangerous come tournament time.

I have to mention this, Skinner's back row attack is lethal!

sold the small-town Christian vibe hard, Elijah Robinson is an elite recruiter.

I think this is the selling point/difference in this one.

It's strange how some recruits and their families ignore other data points and incidents that don't fit their moral compass.  But that's what elite recruiters do, minimize and explain away abhorrent behavior and incidents with the team, while finding, emphasizing and hand feeding the recruit and especially their families, the exact things they want to hear. Plus, the smaller town thing was probably a pretty big factor for mom.
