How much is it going to hurt when aggy is still mediocre in 2021 and 2022?

You could substitute any year, past, present or future into those two numbers and succinctly summarize the entire aggy existence into one hypothetical question.

There inability to adequately self-assess boggles the mind.  Their misguided notion that they are a blue-blood has caused them more pain than kidney stones.

Are you legitimately arguing Giles is a good recruiter, or just trying to be a little shit-stirring contrarian fuckwit?

I think I agree that Giles seems to lack effort at times.  I'm just doing my part on the quest for 1000.

"I'm really cool with coach Giles," said Jackson. "He's definitely the closest coach in college I talk with. I talk with him a lot. He's a great guy."

How can this be? Surly says Giles doesn't do this thing called recruiting.

I think Dematrius is a stud, is a better system fit, and will bring a 5* WR with him

Add me to the list for preferring Dematrius Davis over Preston Stone.  Davis has performed against much better competition. Davis looks to have a stronger arm, but it might just be that Stone has a bad tendency to not step into throws.  And Davis doesn't look like he might get broken in half.

The potential to bring with him a 5* WR is the cherry on top.

One year, but having him on campus (with good things to say about the program, university, and Austin) would obviously help with recruiting Josh.

I agree it will help, just not as much as having them on the same team.

  6. Charlie was a complete and utter failure.  His record at Texas was the worst for any head coach in Texas history.  He wasn't a good recruiter. All of his recruiting classes were ranked below our historical average. His offenses were dog crap, even when blessed with a 2000 yard rusher.  His defenses were so bad, just thinking about them makes me want to vomit.  His special teams was probably the worst I've ever seen in longhorn history.  He did nothing well.

Blaming Mack is a cop out.  Mack certainly didn't leave him a great team, but Charlie's teams got worse the longer he was here.  His only bowl game was his first year.  Mack's last three years were all better than any of Charlie's.

Herman's 2017 team lost 6 games.  Ironically, during those losses, they looked a lot like Charlies teams.

Since USC classes started earlier than ours, I assume the add/drop period has ended? If not, I wonder if dropping all classes and unenrolling would be somewhat of a loophole around NCAA rules. At that point, he technically wouldn’t be a student for this semester, and no scholarship money would’ve been used.

I’m worried the NCAA won’t grant the waiver, but it would be a very athlete-friendly position to take if they do. It would fix a lot of the shadiness of getting kids to commit only to see their primary recruiter/coach leave. That’s been a problem for a long time, and although this may have been an unintended consequence of the rule, I think it’s a positive one. On the other hand, granting a waiver almost immediately after joining the team would make NLIs fairly meaningless, and it could create a whole other market for bagmen. I guess that could be negated if there was always a thorough review to ensure there hasn’t been any tampering, but it’s the NCAA so I don’t have a lot of confidence there.

Either way, it’s certainly going to be interesting.

It's definitely going to be interesting.  A lot of this is uncharted territory.

Factors that a committee might consider on Bru's side:

    1. Coach Bro bailed only two days after Bru committed.  After his primary recruiter, Tee Martin, left, it looks like some promises were made that have been broken.
    2. This is happening prior to NSD2.  If this was two years ago and he wasn't an early enrollee, Bru couldn't have even signed yet.
    3. He hasn't even participated in spring practice.

Someone help me I'm falling too far into the twitter hole

Seems odd for an uncommitted recruit to be calling out for another recruit's commitment...

Is Adeleye's off non-committable?  If not why doesn't he go ahead and be the first 2021 🤫 ?

I mean who the fuck cares if a player counts in the rankings so long as they are on campus playing football?

While I agree with you, winning games is more important, aggy most certainly cares. When you never have actually one anything, but are somehow a premier program, you cling to anything that validates that idea.

    Put in work.

In no game did I feel like we were either worn down or pushed around.

None of our losses came from a lack of physicality or conditioning. None.

We had some guys who were smallish for their position (Captains Hager, Rodriguez, Beck, and Gary Johnson) who couldn't always dominate physically, but they were physical enough to make plays, and their effort level was usually 100.

We had some guys who were slowish for their position (Wheeler, Locke) but they hustled their asses off and made plays.

I'm looking forward to seeing some guys step up in 2019.

It's been a while, but this dude put in work.  He should be one of the highest paid S&C guys in the nation.

Got your eye on a new vacation home, Mrs. McKnight?
